Any idea when the vaccines might start for this group and how they'll be divided up ? It's a big group !

Has anyone who’s in group 6, booked online yet?

MrsFezziwig · 01/02/2021 23:24

The big hubs maybe could be used more with groups 5 and 6 who should be far more mobile and fit than the top 4 levels. Maybe they could expand the time to reach a hub to 1 hr also?

I’m in Group 5 and would happily drive twice that distance just for the change of scenery! But then I guess it goes against the guidance to stay local if you get lots of people driving out of their area.

TryingNotToPanicOverCovid · 01/02/2021 23:30

In group 6 and have checked. I will do every few days and certainly the moment we hear in the press they've officially moved on!

Potaytocrisps · 01/02/2021 23:32

My parents were vaccinated today (Group 5) in Belfast at a hub, but know quite a few older Group 4 friends still waiting to have it at GP surgery.

My adult ds is a coeliac and i assumed group 6, he has been given appointment for Monday, we are in Hampshire.

Mumski45 · 01/02/2021 23:43

@NK346f2849X127d8bca260 I was just coming on here to see if anyone knew whether coeliacs are in gp6. I am coeliacs and just over 50- had the letter for flu jab and assumed it was because I was over 50 but know thinking it might be due to coeliacs.

That may put me in gp6 rather than gp9.

fuckrightoff · 01/02/2021 23:43

Derbyshire here & DF (group 4) hasn't had his but aunt in group 3 has hers next week

trilbydoll · 01/02/2021 23:48

We are Surrey / Hants border and our parents (aged 65-70) have had theirs this weekend so hopefully not too much longer before they get to group 6.

Flossie44 · 02/02/2021 10:34

Apparently, people in the 65-70 will officially be able to book as of next week. There’s circa 3 million in that group.
So group 6 cant be far behind now...

justwanttoknow21 · 02/02/2021 10:36

@Flossie44 I read that too. They'll probably get through 3m in 2-3 weeks- as they said they would. Mid feb !

Going by the current rate 3 million should take about a week

drspouse · 02/02/2021 10:46

This is truly amazing. Just why couldn't we do this for test and trace and for quarantining arrivals??!

Nicola sturgeon just announced unpaid carers will get appointments out third week of February

babyyodaxmas · 02/02/2021 15:31

My Bff (group 6) has been offered an appointment next week in Surrey

tootyfruitypickle · 02/02/2021 15:42

My DM aged 74, Surrey , not had a call yet.

Hopefully that will be the same in England!
Bluebolt · 02/02/2021 15:47

It’s seems that different area are using different ways to utilise missed/cancelled appointments and spare stock. I know the local hub was providing taxi drivers who are volunteering to drive left over vaccines and put a call out to special schools who have staff doing intimate care with children for end of day spare vaccines.

Peppafrig · 02/02/2021 15:49

I hope so but what she says and what she actually delivers are incredibly different . We live in hope .

How will they know who the unpaid carers are?

user1471530109 · 02/02/2021 18:14

It's great that some places are doing so well. But I can't help feeling jealous as a group 6 (diabetic) teacher whose area seems far behind. Our CEV haven't been called yet. I'm just worried second doses are going to push areas like mine back even further. If I knew I'd get called before 8th March I'd be able to relax but starting to feel disheartened (probably unfairly).

Does anyone know if you can get on a list to be on standby for vaccines they need to waste? I live 10 mins away from our hub Sad.

She didn’t mention this last I heard she said those who received or had a underlying entitlement to carers allowance . No idea how she would know though .
drspouse · 02/02/2021 18:35

We (unpaid carers) should be registered with our GPs.

Iremembertheelderlykoreanlady · 02/02/2021 18:38

I tried the NHS link tonight, not yet eligible.

ThatDamnKrampus · 02/02/2021 18:57

@Flossie44

I’ve heard this evening that our local hub is running below capacity and are asking the over 70’s to book online as they have lots of space. I’m group 6. I really do believe in the orders being processed correctly to protect the vulnerable. But is there a case to call the hub somehow?
Our hub has just opened and they are running below capacity. My Mum took my brother who is CEV for his first jab, she was offered hers as his carer and was told by the fire officer helping her (there was mix of fire, army, medical staff working) to let any carers she knew to come down and get their jab, no appointment needed. So I did that (I get carers allowance, disabled adult daughter's carer and have mild asthma). Only problem is I now cant book my second jab! Drs surgery have been no help and cant find number for hub to contact them but they said they couldn't book me in for 2and whilst there. 119 cant help and the system fluctuates between telling me I missed my second vaccine dose (!!) Amd thatbit cant find me now! Sad
justwanttoknow21 · 02/02/2021 19:01

@ThatDamnKrampus great you had your vaccine !! I'm sure in time you'll be able to book your next dose. Just make sure you remember when you had the first and they'll sort it out somehow I'm sure.
