I had no idea. Apologies if this is common knowledge.

Its Over 65s now :)

PatriciaHolm · 30/01/2021 20:48

@Jenasaurus

That's just in Northern Ireland.
Jenasaurus · 30/01/2021 20:50

Oh sorry, it just pinged a notification, Ignore my post :(

WwMILd · 30/01/2021 20:50

Second jab was offered for DH at same time, so yes you can.

AlbertCampion · 30/01/2021 20:55

Thanks @PatriciaHolm and @CaveMum.I'll keep checking and if nothing in a couple of weeks, I'll try sending an email. V reluctant to add to the admin pressure on GPS at the moment and I know I am probably just being more paranoid about things than I need to be!

mumwon · 30/01/2021 20:57

woohoo dh got vaccinated this pm from this link - I shared it on our Facebook page too. I mentioned down page that the way its working is basically those that can get transport do it at the central hub leaving spaces the local hub for the most vulnerable without transport - the idea is get everyone through as fast as possible!
I am a young thing (ahem) so I will have to wait a (little) bit Grin

mumwon · 30/01/2021 21:00

& I booked dh second appointment at the same time too

LizzieSiddal · 30/01/2021 21:05

Thank you for the link, a relative who is 64, but very medically vunerable has just booked for tomorrow! She’s had to be separated from her dh and ds as they have to go out to work. It such a relief that she’s now getting it!

InterfectoremVulpes · 30/01/2021 21:10

@MiaMc

Are you sure this is right? If so, why does it say on the link....

“ You can only use this service if you have received a letter inviting you to book your vaccination appointments.” ?

Just to echo other posters, yes. The letter is generated once you become eligible on the system. Lots of people aren't getting their letters due to postal delays, etc. but you don't actually need it to book.
Toocold · 30/01/2021 21:19

Thank you OP, I’ve passed it on 😊

pinkunicornwithacatonitsback · 30/01/2021 21:20

My parents are both 66 with type 2 diabetes. Would they be eligible yet do you think?

Frozenintime · 30/01/2021 21:22

No good to my mum. They offered it at a large sports stadium, 5 miles away. She's ringing GP on Monday. She can't stand up for more than a few minutes and no transport

Give it a go, it won't let them book if they're not eligible.
pinkunicornwithacatonitsback · 30/01/2021 21:39

I’ve sent it onto them although I think they are group 5 so doubtful it will work yet

Do we know how far along they are generally with the priority groups now?

verballyincompetent · 30/01/2021 21:53

This is brilliant, thank you. I'm ECV and have managed to book in for Monday. Thank you!

pinkunicornwithacatonitsback · 30/01/2021 21:59

So my parents have just tried and they aren’t eligible (which is what we suspected) but it’s great to know that they can keep checking over the next week or two

notevenat20 · 30/01/2021 22:17

I know we're not supposed to call them to ask though - should I just wait it out?

Call them. It’s a very good reason.

It's actually very interesting the ease with which people here are getting appts - I know it's anecdata, but it suggests there is are a fair amount of open slots that would go begging if people didn't realise they could do this.

Yes I think it almost always suggests a mass vaccination centre. Definitely contact your GP.

We’re on track to get the top 4 groups done by mid-Feb so I imagine in those areas that are ahead of the game they’ll start offering Group 5 in the next week or so.
MyBossIsATwat · 30/01/2021 22:28

I’m in England, my mum is 69 (70 next month) and it worked for her.

justasyouare · 30/01/2021 22:29

@AlbertCampion Ds is 16 and in the CEV group. According to this link he isn’t yet eligible..... he is being vaccinated on Monday at our GP surgery.
So I am assuming the systems don’t quite tie up. Just because you aren’t on this list you may well get a call from your local centre. We got the call on Thursday ... a few weeks earlier than expected!

Aurorie11 · 30/01/2021 22:38

I used the link from the deleted thread. My Uncle and Aunt, 73 and 71 were anxious to get their jabs. My Aunt had phoned me earlier in the week asking if there was anyone to get their jabs ASAP. I saw the link Thursday evening, phoned my Aunt about 9pm, whilst she was on the phone I booked her and my Uncle in for the next morning at one of the big sites, there was loads of slots available. Also booked their second jab at the same time. Thank you @gisbons
They went in, very smooth. Very happy Aunt and Uncle.

MadinMarch · 30/01/2021 23:40
