I had no idea. Apologies if this is common knowledge.

I’m group 6 (diabetes.). I check the booking website every few days. I’ve heard of group 5 people in my district being invited, and group 6 people in the neighbouring one, so I’m hopeful it won’t be long.

BessMarvin · 12/02/2021 18:32

If you click the link in the op and click go back it says you can use it if you're 65 or over

RaggieDolls · 12/02/2021 18:42

Thank you @BessMarvin, my Dad is the only 65-70 I know who hasn't been contacted by his gp. Pleased he can now book direct on the site.

VicSynix · 12/02/2021 19:08

Yes, now saying 65 and over's can book direct - no need for a letter. Our GP led vaccinations are only just starting on that cohort, so my 67 year old DP has just used that link to get an appointment (in a supermarket carpark) on Tuesday. Hurrah!!

I've just sent it to a late 60s relative so fingers crossed.
RaggieDolls · 13/02/2021 06:47

He booked as soon as I sent him the link @BessMarvin and is going on Tuesday. He was able to make the second appointment at the same time. Thanks again ❤️

BessMarvin · 13/02/2021 12:30

Bumping! Daffodil
EmmanuelleMakro · 15/02/2021 10:27

Our GP is now doing people 16-64 with underlying health conditions - surely a small number compared to those already done?

CaveMum · 15/02/2021 11:11

@EmmanuelleMakro this is the graphic the BBC are using to illustrate the numbers in each category.

7.3m in the 16-64 with underlying health conditions group, so about half the number done to date. If we can keep up the current rate of vaccines we can get those done in about 2 weeks.

Everyone over 70 in England can now book themselves!
CavernousScream · 15/02/2021 14:45

Unfortunately the rates won’t be the same. We have reduced vaccine supply for the next few weeks and GPs dealing with the biggest group (clinically vulnerable 18-64 year olds), is going to be slower than if the mass vaccination hubs were fully utilised by people booking themselves in. By the time those two problems are over, we’ll be into doing second doses at the same time. So really we’ve passed the peak first vaccine numbers for a while. But we’re still doing brilliantly!

CaveMum · 16/02/2021 14:57

Bumping to say if you think you fall into the category of the additional 1.7million people who have been given priority for the vaccine, check on the national booking system. People have been flagged via their NHS records so it should pick you up. If it doesn't, keep checking!

AgnesNaismith · 16/02/2021 18:28

Bumping to get people to check the website and ALSO:

If you don’t have your second vaccine booked in as your first was with the GP you can book your second one in through the website!!!

Wigeon · 16/02/2021 20:21

Please don’t book your second dose at a Vaccination centre if your first was at your GP. You should go back to the same place you had your first jab - there’s no guarantee they’ll have the same type of vaccine at the Vaccination Centre when you go (both GPs and the VCs have had Pfizer and AstraZeneca in the past and there’s no guarantees of what they’ll have on the day of your second jab).

If you had your first with the GP, and don’t yet have your second appointment booked, they will definitely be in touch with you to book you in, and will know that they will have the right vaccine available on the day.
