I had no idea. Apologies if this is common knowledge.

@CaveMum

Oh I know they’re wrong *@notevenat20*, it’s just frustrating when you’re trying to help people out and other people are shouting “WAIT FOR YOUR LETTER!” over you.
It wasn't even this though. It was the insistence the people who the system considered eligible were being underhand and immoral. Hmm
Thefamousfivegetcovid · 30/01/2021 17:46

I just had a friend post about this on FB and the replies include people suggesting it is immoral and you must wait for your letter. It's clearly not the case - things are just moving faster than letters can be sent so I would encourage people to keep telling over 70s privately so people can get booked in. FB is really annoying at times! So many opinions and so much judgement.

WwMILd · 30/01/2021 17:46

As *@Bsmirched said CEV too, so not age restricted if in that group.

Thanks to yesterday’s link my DH has had his today Smile

FourTeaFallOut · 30/01/2021 17:51

Was he patted down for a letter like a criminal - as the dramatic voices on the deleted thread suggested - or was the booking details and id enough? I'm guessing it was fine?

AgnesNaismith · 30/01/2021 17:54

I’ve managed to get 2 members of my extended family and 3 contacts of theirs vaccinated because of this link. Thank you OP Flowers

Nothing wrong with it at all as they are in the groups being vaccinated! Our local hub is now on to clinically vulnerable (number 6 priority) so desperately refreshing for when it says I can book DH in.

55larry · 30/01/2021 17:55

I could have gone tomorrow but chose Wednesday. You are also asked whether you want am or pm and I could have had any time I wanted on Wednesday morning. It means I will be able to drive more than 5 minutes from home!

Hopefully MNHQ will keep this thread up! Anyone would think they actively didn’t want the vulnerable to be vaccinated 🙄

Yep, I received plenty of personal attacks when I started a thread on this a few days ago. I was told that I was disgusting and all sorts. Charming!

I am very glad that the word is actually getting around now. The NHS want the top four groups of vulnerable people to book on via this website, or by calling 119.

Hall84 · 30/01/2021 18:17

Thanks OP - my dad's still waiting for his letter!

CaveMum · 30/01/2021 18:19

@heLacksnotluster

When will all the over 70s be vaccinated (estimated) at the current rate of vaccination? And will they then invite the over 60s?
We’re still on track to get the top 4 priority groups done by mid-Feb (latest daily figures show over 487,000 people were vaccinated yesterday alone). Once they’re done yes it moves to the next groups. These are:

Group 5 all those 65 years of age and over
Group 6 all individuals aged 16 years[footnote 2] to 64 years with underlying health conditions which put them at higher risk of serious disease and mortality[footnote 3]
Group 7 all those 60 years of age and over
Group 8 all those 55 years of age and over
Group 9 all those 50 years of age and over

GintyMcGinty · 30/01/2021 18:19

Well done England.

I am in Scotland we are miles behind you on this. Not even close to finishing the over 80s nevermind the over 70s.

MyBossIsATwat · 30/01/2021 18:24

I’ve just got my mum booked in thank you so so much I can’t explain how much this means

AgnesNaismith · 30/01/2021 18:28

I don’t think this thread should be continuously bumped (but I will do it) I think it should be pinned to the top of chat!!!

gisbons · 30/01/2021 18:28

@SunInTheSkyYouKnowHowIFeel

So even if you haven't been personally invited, you can use that link?
Yes. It will only let you book if you are eligible.

And I emailed MNHQ to say the same thing after they deleted my previous thread!
FourTeaFallOut · 30/01/2021 18:33

Did you get a reply gisbons?

PinkSpring · 30/01/2021 18:35

Thanks, told some over 70's relatives I know to try

Marmite27 · 30/01/2021 18:36

@Thefamousfivegetcovid

Lemons my understanding is if the website lets you book, you are eligible and your letter has most likely been issued but not reached you yet. If you aren't eligible, the website doesn't let you progress.
Also my understanding.
QueenPawPaws · 30/01/2021 18:36

I'm booked Smile ECV (37) and my parents (70s) are booked too

Thank you for this thread and raising awareness - I am in the CEV group but I have to time my vaccination very carefully based on my immune-suppressant drug schedule. This weekend was optimal, if i didn't get it done this weekend I was waiting another four weeks to the end of the next cycle. All week checking the post - no letter, no letter, and then I tried the website with my details yesterday morning after I saw this post and it let me book for today!

I did bring my shielding letter and most recent consultant write-up, just in case, but other than not being able to find a booking reference from my GP, I explained I did it direct and that was fine.

Thank you so, so much, and I hope it encourages others to get it done rather than wait around if they don't have to!

AnnaFiveTowns · 30/01/2021 18:58

Wow! Thanks for that. Ive just booked my mum in. She's over 70 and has been worried as she still hadnt had her letter.

AnnaFiveTowns · 30/01/2021 19:04

Thank you OP. Do you know why the government aren't telling people about this?
