Just had to report a post. Anti vaxer spouting dodgy facts. Hopefully mumsnet will delete it quickly before anyone believes that rubbish.

Never reported a pot before. So there is a first. Do I get to stroke Marzipan as a prize❤

tobee · 31/01/2021 02:52

Family were watching Masked Singer tonight (ahem!) and dd says one of the US judges of their version is an anti vaxxer. Dd thinks they shouldn't be allowed!!

tobee · 31/01/2021 02:53

I've frequently reported after midnight spam and random weirdos and abusive types sadly.

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 31/01/2021 03:03

A sensible child obviously Smile

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 31/01/2021 03:04

Lenny Henry tonight wasn't it. Love the costumes 😊

tobee · 31/01/2021 03:28

Lenny and Morten Harket .

Dd should be sensible; she's 25 😆My ds is 21. We've been all at home since last spring shielding Dh. A couple of weeks ago we all admitted that we'd all secretly been toying with watching the Masked Singer! It's the only thing we now watch together! It's a great lockdown antidote!!!

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 31/01/2021 05:12

Love this

While most of his colleagues were preoccupied by intensive care unit capacity in hospitals, protective equipment and the R rate, Prof Van-Tam would keep repeating in meetings: 'We need to buy freezers and vials. The vaccine is the key.

ChocOrange1 · 31/01/2021 06:36

Everyone I know over 75 has had the vaccine now.

A few days ago I had a text from my GP surgery asking to complete a questionnaire. The only questions were age, height and weight. I hope this is a sign that they will be prioritising those who are overweight or obese when we get further down the list of priority. Although that might mean mine is delayed as I am no longer overweight, if it gets more vulnerable people vaccinated first I'm all for it!

thatgingergirl · 31/01/2021 07:29

Thread 8!

So good to see case numbers and hospitalisations coming down.
And vaccinations going up of course! "Cornish Sharpshooters" - love it!

FourTeaFallOut · 31/01/2021 07:30

I've just read that they are going to start publishing ward-by-ward data on the vaccine take up at some point this week. That'll be good.

FuzzyPuffling · 31/01/2021 08:08

Which practice is that tobee?

FuzzyPuffling · 31/01/2021 08:13

I've reported quite a few posts for ageism and ageist language. Some of Mumsnet thinks that when people hit about 50 they morph into a separate and useless species. And over 60, you might as well just die now!

Littlebelina · 31/01/2021 08:17

@Level75, that's concerning as potentially happening over multiple areas.

Love the optimism of the masked singer judges. "Well he said the word Happy so I think it could be award winning singer Pharell Williams"

tootyfruitypickle · 31/01/2021 08:31

Place marking Smile

Boredsillyathome · 31/01/2021 08:46

Here for the good news Smile

JemimaPyjamas · 31/01/2021 10:36

Bloody hell! Thread 7 filled up at warp speed!

2020CanDoOne · 31/01/2021 11:18

Can anyone with more vaccine knowledge talk me down after reading a gloomy Times article about the SA variant causing the vaccine to be 50% less effective. What does that actually mean, will deaths still be avoided basically? Thanks, having a Sunday wobble Confused

IncludeWomenInTheSequel · 31/01/2021 11:30

Found you guys. Need to scroll back up and catch up on some good news...

Furries · 31/01/2021 11:41

Look at that, 305 councils now green on Covid messenger!

JemimaPyjamas · 31/01/2021 11:42

@2020CanDoOne I'd recommend watching John Campbell on YouTube, he goes through stuff like this and it's far better than any newspaper articles! Don't panic!

FourTeaFallOut · 31/01/2021 11:45

Effective is used in lots of different ways at the moment. 50% less effective at reducing what? Transmission/ contraction/ reducing hospitalisation or death?

The j&j vaccine, which was trialled in South Africa, has said that their vaccine is 100% effective in protecting against hospitalisations and death. So long as the others follow suit that seems like a good start.

Endlesslymumming · 31/01/2021 11:47

Can I hide here for a bit?
I went ‘out there’ to post what I genuinely felt was helpful advice and really good news about unpaid carers / parent carers now being in group 6 (it is good news, right? It certainly is for our household)!
It appears most people are worried about the queue jumping this could inspire. There was a genuine argument with the definition of ‘Carer’, or their need to be prioritised which I just felt wasn’t ok. I already felt guilty enough about putting myself forward, but my son had autism and needs me for care. (And there I go, justifying myself again)...
I will stay away from the main boards I think!

KezzabellaB · 31/01/2021 11:56

Here for the positivity! I need some amongst all the doom and gloom Smile
Just noticed my council is on the red rising list though so not happy about that. Hopefully it'll be just a blip in the system. There hasn't been any sex parties round here that I'm aware of to start with!! Grin

Pomegranatespompom · 31/01/2021 11:58

Oh it's really bad on here at the mo - it's almost like people want restrictions in place for years...

2020CanDoOne · 31/01/2021 12:08

Thanks I’ll do that x
