Happy birthday to your daughter for tomorrow Eek. Maybe she'd like a birthday treat around September? (I know I'm hoping for one, but I do every year. January birthdays suck!)

InterfectoremVulpes · 30/01/2021 17:46

Noo fred!

wednesdayalltheway mindymomo

You don't need the letter and if you don't know your NHS number you can just enter your name, dob and postcode and the system can find you that way.

carolinesbaby · 30/01/2021 19:18

Placemarkkng.
Sadly my parents live in the in the EU so a long wait for a vaccine while if they lived here, it would be pretty soon.
Positive signs that the vaccine is starting to bring cases down!

Good News Part 8
Level75 · 30/01/2021 20:18

Not entirely good news, and an odd one, but I'm not on other threads.

A link to the staff vaccine booking page for my hospital trust has been circulating on WhatsApp! The accompanying message said that the link was to book on for leftover doses and was available for teachers and police and encouraging circulation of the link.

I went through the whole booking process and booked first and second jabs without any checks of my entitlement (I'm not entitled). It definitely wasn't signing up for a list to be called back at the end of a day if they had surplus jabs. I obviously cancelled straight away.

The booking confirmation emails did provide a list of things to bring (like a face mask) which included NHS ID. However, even if I'd turned up and been turned away due to a lack of ID (which may well not have happened), those slots I'd booked were no longer available for those in genuine need of them.

I suppose the good news part is that I went through the whole process as DH knows relevant very senior people at the hospital trust and has emailed them to flag the issue. It might be a little complicated to sort, but as a minimum the booking site should have a huge 'staff only' warning. It was reasonably obvious to me it was for staff but not obvious enough that people couldn't claim to have been unaware.

Hopefully DH's emails will stop the problem.

Spiratedaway · 30/01/2021 20:19

Parents have their jabs on Thursday woo

FuzzyPuffling · 30/01/2021 20:24

level75 that is so crap, but very good that you and your DH have tried to sort it. I have no prob with teachers or the police getting jabs, but all in good time. The priority list is there for a reason.

MadisonAvenue · 30/01/2021 20:52

Nearly at the end of January, and February usually feels like such a short month so we’ll soon be in Spring (and I’ll try to forget that we usually go on holiday in March).

Furries · 30/01/2021 20:55

Not necessarily good news, but this did make me chuckle.

The weather has been vile today, and I’ve been bored, so have been surfing the Internet a lot.

Apparently, last night, around 100 people were fined in France for breaking curfew, not social distancing and not wearing masks. It was at a sex party in a warehouse 😂

And there was me thinking I was edgy for taking a walk round a friend’s horse fields which obviously aren’t classed as a public space!

AVictoryProduct · 30/01/2021 21:03

Just to say that vaccine booking link (and comments from previous posters) helped my mum, dad and MIL (all over 70) to book their jabs for next week without having had letters. There were loads of slots available and a choice of locations - amazing. I love this thread!

Thanks to everyone who has posted about it.

Littlebelina · 30/01/2021 21:33

@level75 are you in the South East? Heard of something similar

InterfectoremVulpes · 30/01/2021 21:39

I'm just shocked that a staff booking page is able to be used on the open Internet without having to use some kind of staff log-in in or password!

Exactly 😊

I think the problem is that people who are given the link shouldn't really be sharing it. I also think it's come out quickly mistakes have been made. The other problem is that if you end up having phone appointments you need to 'man' it and that's a lot of manpower.

Just discovered this lovely data page; lots of pretty graphs all going in the right direction

data.spectator.co.uk/city/national

We’ve seen all the data in other places but I thought this was one of the best presentations.

Level75 · 30/01/2021 22:45

@Littlebelina, no North East

Level75 · 30/01/2021 23:01

@NeedingCoffee nice graphs!

AlexandraEiffel · 30/01/2021 23:03

@NeedingCoffee thanks for that link. I never thought I'd be recommending the spectator but I've found their coverage during the whole pandemic quite positive/realistic and not sensationalist. I get an email every day with a summary of their coverage and I've found it pretty useful.

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 30/01/2021 23:10

Yay new graphs 👍❤

That will keep me busy for a bit

Well done them. So totally awesome ❤

Though I wish the papers would stop comparing us to other countries. (Well maybe Germany and their normal efficiency I don't mind😂) It doesn't help stop the drama does it.
