This is a continuation of the previous thread, www.mumsnet.com/Talk/coronavirus/4129412-1-5-million-people-vaccinated-already-brilliant

6,353,321 people in the UK have now received their first dose of the vaccine - that’s 1 in every 8.3 adults. It’s a truly remarkable achievement to have reached so many people in such a short space of time.

Welcome to the new thread and let’s keep the positive vibes going! Grin

I got my 1st one yesterday, NHS worker.

HairyFloppins · 24/01/2021 22:43

Brilliant news. I can't wait for the day my parents in their 70s get their letters.

DianaT1969 · 24/01/2021 22:43

That is incredible. Well done to everyone involved.

AndcalloffChristmas · 24/01/2021 22:44

Oh this is a lovely thread! I didn’t see the last one for 1.5 million but so happy to hear something up beat!

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 24/01/2021 22:47

I love this thread. Thanks op!

Chasingsquirrels · 24/01/2021 22:52

My mum got a text yesterday lunchtime to book hers, and had it this afternoon. My dad (7 months older & diabetic) was somewhat miffed! Hopefully he'll hear soon (I did say given how often he checks his phone he wouldn't see the text until June!).

lurker101 · 24/01/2021 23:02

Fantastic progress. So relieved my Granny got her first vaccine last week

WhoseThatGirl · 24/01/2021 23:05

I’ve got mine on Tuesday. Can’t wait!

Eccle80 · 24/01/2021 23:05

It is great news, my parents in the 70+ group had theirs this week, I felt so emotional about it

EachDubh · 24/01/2021 23:08

Hoping my 80 plus fil will get his soon and then mil and my dad. Feels like the end of full lockdowns is nearing.

psychomath · 24/01/2021 23:10

That counter is amazing!

CaveMum · 24/01/2021 23:22

Thanks for the new thread! So making my prediction for how many we will get to by the time this thread fills up, I’m going to take a guess at a thread lifespan of 13 days so plucking a figure from the air that we will be at approx 12.8 million by close of thread Grin

@chasingsquirrels

I have seen people say that if someone is currently eligible to get it then if they go to the booking page then they will be able to book. Will only let you book if you are currently eligible - will reject attempt if not - might be worth a look if there is a chance his appointment will get overlooked. Your DDad will need his NHS number to book.

ThatDamnKrampus · 24/01/2021 23:26

I should say, I dont know whether that is right but it can't hurt to look.
