Any over 80s still not heard about vaccine?

Whirlwind14 · 13/01/2021 21:48

My dad is 81 and his surgery have said that they’re still waiting on an approved venue to use with the other surgeries in their PCN.
They haven’t even had a delivery of either of the vaccines yet?

I know of other people in the area that have had their second dose.

Any one else still waiting to hear?

Yes my email 89 and my aunt 96 Shock

Jakadaal · 13/01/2021 21:49

DM!

glassacorn · 13/01/2021 21:50

Family members in late 80s and early 90s only just found out their appointment today - for 2 weeks time! Hang tight.

pinkchampagne1 · 13/01/2021 21:50

My FIL is 82 & ECV. He still hasn't heard anything about when he may be offered the vaccine.

LIZS · 13/01/2021 21:50

Neither dm, df or pils so far, all 80+. Hoping local centres will open in two weeks or so.

chloworm · 13/01/2021 21:53

Yes they haven't even started vaccinating anyone in my parents' town yet. No venue.

LaurieFairyCake · 13/01/2021 21:56

They've only done 40% of over 80's according to today's news

So the majority haven't been done yet

JumboShiitake · 13/01/2021 21:59

Yes my DF

And yet my DP's DF who is in group 4 (he's 78) has just been given his appointment.

Some areas are way ahead of others.

Wowwellokthen · 13/01/2021 22:01

DF 82 not a peep yet

PuzzledObserver · 13/01/2021 22:03

My DM 85 hasn’t heard. She’s in South Wales and apparently Wales is behind England in the rollout, but still aiming to have groups 1-4 done by mid February.

cardswapping · 13/01/2021 22:06

Mil is 84 and sadly not been contacted yet.

doodleygirl · 13/01/2021 22:07

My inlaws both early 80's havent heard anything, my mum received a letter today inviting her to one of the vaccine centres.

Defenbaker · 13/01/2021 22:08

MIL (86) was contacted yesterday, and was given an appt for this Saturday, 16 Jan, for her first jab. She had been hoping to get her first jab before Christmas but with several million people in the 1st priority group she understands why it takes time to cover everyone.

I think all over 80s will probably receive their first jab by the end of Jan, then they will start on the 70-79 age group. Things are really speeding up, which is great.

Whirlwind14 · 13/01/2021 22:09

Thanks, it just seems such a painful wait when I hear of others in our area who have had it down. My mum is over 70 and CV so she’ll have even longer.

It’s all such a worry, let’s hope we all get some good news soon Flowers

My 82 yo NDN hasn't heard anything yet. I know our local GP surgery have started sending patients to our nearest vaccination centre 20 miles away and I know of some in late 80's who've been .

cabbageking · 13/01/2021 22:14

Have 2 x 88 year old friends.

One is having it tomorrow and the other has not heard anything as they will need to come to her home to do it.

PaigeMatthews · 13/01/2021 22:18

Yes my gran in her 90’s. And she knows lots who havent heard too. I do know lots of nhs staff in the town who have had theirs though so i did wonder whether theyre starting with the staff.

Springcatkin · 13/01/2021 22:18

My mother (Somerset) is having hers on Friday and she is over 80 plus in a care home so group 1 whereas I (social care worker - group 2) have mine booked for tomorrow because I am near a regional centre. Depends a lot on postcode it seems.

Sunnysausage · 13/01/2021 22:19

My DF (81 in the south Midlands). No appointment yet even though others have had theirs a fortnight ago - they don’t know when the next batch is coming in apparently ☹️

Aurorie11 · 13/01/2021 22:21

My Dad has his on Friday, 82 and ECV. Father in law who’s 81 and not ECV with the same doctors practice hasn’t heard yet

crimsonlake · 13/01/2021 22:33

My mum 86 and in North Wales has heard nothing.

cadburyegg · 13/01/2021 22:36

My dad is 87 and is in a nursing home with dementia, hasn’t heard yet I expect because covid has been rife in the home for about a month now Sad

NeedWineNow · 13/01/2021 22:40

My mum is 84 and hasn't heard yet. She's in LB of Greenwich.

CrocodilesCry · 13/01/2021 22:46

DGM 90 who is in a care home still hasn't had hers despite being told three times that the vaccination team were coming into the home over the past week.
She caught Covid last year so I suppose we're just lucky she wasn't one of the residents it killed Angry

Also another relative who is 80 still hasn't had hers either while another who is in their 70s has had theirs.

movingonup20 · 13/01/2021 23:07

Two friends got their appointments today for the weekend, dp's dm hasn't yet but she's rural without transport so will need a home visit if it's got to be a weekday
