Other than the kids going back to school. The thing I am most looking forwards to is the forest not being like Trafalgar square all day long.

I live in a London borough that is lucky enough to have a large forest bordering it. Since first lockdown people it is so busy. I don't even feel confident letting the poor dog off the lead. She is over friendly Confused

So everyone going back to work, school and their normal social activities would be great. I miss my peaceful daily walks.

RaggieDolls · 15/01/2021 22:24

@Florelei

Does this mean I need to lose my lockdown weight?! I might need that summer body after all!
This is supposed to be a positive thread @Florelei. You make a good point though Grin
Inastatus · 15/01/2021 22:26

I think most of us (including me) will come out of this far more thankful and appreciative of things which I think is a positive. I certainly took too much for granted before. Bring on the roaring 20’s!

@FuzzyPuffling

Oh maaaan.... I'd be able to go into a supermarket again! 😮 I will have forgotten what to do, and will rush round like a mad thing yelling, "WHERE'S THE BUTTER?" and then dither with my card at the till and have a lot of trouble packing. Bet you can't wait to be stuck behind me! 😁😁

With you there @FuzzyPuffling! I'm so over online delivery orders. I need to look at the actual food and choose for myself. Last time Dh & I stepped in a shop was the Tesco petrol station shop last March!!!

Going to my local co op which is 1/2 a mile away sounds like an exotic adventure to me!

tobee · 16/01/2021 06:56

Let's have the roaring 20s! But I hope we don't get the Great Depression afterwards!! Shock

louisejxxx · 16/01/2021 07:40

I’m definitely up for roaring 20s.

Just had a look on Covid Messenger and whilst my area is still red, lots of areas in the county we are on the border of (including where my kids go to school and where I work) are mostly green Smile

littleowl1 · 16/01/2021 08:52

Folks - I have added a big "barometer" chart in the middle of the www.covidmessenger.com homepage that clearly shows the number of councils with rising versus falling cases w-o-w.

I wanted to add this so people get a clear snapshot of the rather positive news we have at the moment - that lockdown is starting to work and we are see a reduction in cases in most councils (albeit from high levels).

It has certainly cheered me up of late so I wanted to put it front and centre for everyone to see as soon as they visit the site.

I hope you like it!

The usual table is below as always.

Blerg · 16/01/2021 09:10

@littleowl1 the barometer looks really good, a nice addition. Thanks for running the site, I’ve been checking it since the start.

Blerg · 16/01/2021 09:11

Found this vaccine stats for the UK site: vaccinestats.co.uk/

That's brilliant thanks.

Blerg · 16/01/2021 09:21

It’s a good one isn’t it @BBCONEANDTWO Nice and straightforward.

thatgingergirl · 16/01/2021 09:28

It is just England though, not UK?

Blerg · 16/01/2021 09:44

Oh yes - good point. I think they’ve possibly labelled it incorrectly. The figures look like the UK ones to me. 🤔

Blerg · 16/01/2021 09:46

Just sent them a question.

thatgingergirl · 16/01/2021 09:52

Dashboard shows 1st dose 3,234,946 for UK as at 14 Jan. In the counting of vaccines, I like bigger numbers!

thatgingergirl · 16/01/2021 10:02

Vaccinations that should say, not vaccines!

JustFoldInTheCheese · 16/01/2021 10:11

Oops - clicked go far too soon!

JustFoldInTheCheese · 16/01/2021 10:13

Has someone who calculates the date that we will reach the government's target of the first 15m vaccinated, based on the daily figures. If we continued at yesterday's rate, we would reach that target on the 19th feb.

farmerswifey2 · 16/01/2021 10:16

Does anyone happen to know of something similar to the covidmessenger page that includes Wales please? I can seem to find our figures nearly as easily.

HalfDutchGirl · 16/01/2021 10:28

Woke up feeling low this morning and so clicked on here to cheer my day - thank you for all of the positivity posts!

On last nights last leg Adam Hills had his Positivity Pants on and it was very upbeat!

The thought that the whole of the UK could be vaccinated by mid July is phenomenal! Bring on the roaring 2020’s!

The travelling tabby is excellent for stars. Apparently he's a young student... needs an award for his work. Although it's Scotland based, there is a good section on UK as a whole and he compares the different regions of UK. Did I read that right that over 6% of the adult population in Northern Ireland have been vaccinated with their first dose?

Pomegranatespompom · 16/01/2021 10:37

Good morning.

Made a few flower purchases this morning - so cheery !
