‘And in some ways, I don't mind if it's postponed, it's just the idea that it might, it could happen that matters.’

That is exactly how I feel about Easter.

InterfectoremVulpes · 11/01/2021 14:23

I was getting quite cross on the nurseries should be closed thread last night. Checking in here as its my MN happy place

Ommmmmmmm

FourTeaFallOut · 11/01/2021 14:49

On gov.uk

"The UK has helped to raise $1 billion for the coronavirus COVAX Advance Market Commitment (AMC) through match-funding other donors, which combined with the £548 million of UK aid pledged will help distribute one billion doses of coronavirus vaccines to 92 developing countries this year."

MadisonAvenue · 11/01/2021 14:55

We haven’t booked a holiday but our younger son has booked to go to Paris with his girlfriend in July, I so hope they can go as they had two holidays cancelled last year.

The only thing I have in the diary is a Green Day concert in June, which should’ve happened last June. I’m not sure it’ll happen, and it’s a strange thought that we could be standing in such a huge crowd. I’ve come out of their gigs battered and bruised before now 😂

SandysMam · 11/01/2021 15:04

Place marking as feel very low at the moment BUT I am CV bordering on CEV and had Covid a month ago and got over it quickly without medical help so I guess that in itself is good news! Thanks for this thread xx

IncludeWomenInTheSequel · 11/01/2021 15:05

Happy new happy thread :)

FuzzyPuffling · 11/01/2021 15:11

Hello SandysMam - I recognise you from another thread where you were very kind to me! Sorry to hear you got the 'rona, but very pleased you've got over it.

OP posts:
Peggyslantern · 11/01/2021 15:17

Sandys it's always so nice to hear of people getting through it when they are CV.

SandysMam · 11/01/2021 15:25

Hi Fuzzy!!

Yes definitely Peggy before I had it I was very comforted to hear of CV folk who were ok so am glad to be able to pass that on.

beelover · 11/01/2021 15:34

Newbie checking in here. This thread is exactly what I need, wish I had found you sooner. My own piece of personal positivity is that my 92 year old DF, still living independently, had his second dose of the vaccine last night just three weeks after the first. We're in the south east so am very relieved for him. Cannot fault the slick roll out here.

Earlgrey666 · 11/01/2021 15:38

Just wanted to say thank you for this thread, I am struggling with the situation and this gives me hope. Nice to see some positivity.

thereplycamefromanchorage · 11/01/2021 16:02

Checking in for my daily dose of positivity - thank you!

CruCru · 11/01/2021 16:02

This is a really nice thread. Thank you to the person who said 35 sleeps to 15 Feb - it’s made me feel a lot better.

FuzzyPuffling · 11/01/2021 16:05

Has anyone heard a vaccine update on when the Group 6s might be all done? Or all of Phase 1?

These seem like important milestones to me (yep, I have skin in the game as they say) but so far I've heard no mention.

I wonder if "My Mate Matt" will have an opinion later today? (So called in this house as he signed the shielding letters "Matt")

FourTeaFallOut · 11/01/2021 16:06

All of phase 1 by late spring.

Spring is the new elastic.

prettygreenteacup · 11/01/2021 16:18

Can I join this thread. So in need of positivity and perspective at the moment, thank you!!

MarcelineMissouri · 11/01/2021 16:36

Posted this on the old thread by accident:

Not sure if these figures have already been posted but 40% of over 80’s and 23% of elderly care home residents now vaccinated!

FuzzyPuffling · 11/01/2021 16:39

Hello prettygreenteacup. Welcome.

I've filled the old thread with fillers! Remarkably hard to think of filling things to say!

Press briefing at 5. I'm looking forward to this one...hoping for some vaccine-plan cheer from Matt.

Hello! I absolutely love this thread, thank you for all being so positive and lovely, you've made me feel sane again. Does anybody have any ideas on when they'll know a bit more about whether the vaccine prevents transmission? My understanding is that it should reduce transmission but we don't yet have the data to prove it. So I'm being cautiously optimistic. Reduced transmission would be a game changer!

PoppinAlong · 11/01/2021 16:44

Hello my refuge Flowers

tobee · 11/01/2021 16:45

Ok, well I'm slightly wary of posting this, coz it's just one statistic, just one day but, I live in a London borough. I check most days BBC Cases in my Area. It's been going up and up in my borough and was loads higher than the average per 100,000 people. Today, for the first time in some weeks, it was 258 less than last week! It might just be a blip, but it made me a bit hopeful.

Positively place-marking.
Or place-marking with positivity.
