Don't understand the once a day rule. Never have. A little afternoon walk keeps me sane.

Moan moan moan.

There will be no-one policing you leaving your house
Just go for a walk

LobotheBotanist · 04/01/2021 21:29

Our local garden centre is like a petri dish for all the local elderly, very confusing, it’s rammed with 70+ crowd for a “day out”

AliceAbsolum · 04/01/2021 21:29

Fair.

pelosi · 04/01/2021 21:29

No one will police you, it's just to show people that you shouldn't go out too often.

edwinbear · 04/01/2021 21:39

Who will know?

Heyahun · 04/01/2021 21:39

You can go for as many walks as you like - as much exercise outdoors as you want

Plonque · 04/01/2021 21:40

Oh bore off.

MumOfPsuedoAdult · 04/01/2021 21:42

Who's counting in all honesty?

Not if you want to follow the guidance!

All the curtain twitchers.

Garden centres are closed here.

GravityFalls · 04/01/2021 21:43

It does say once a day in the new guidance but...are there police for that?

HaudYerWheeshtBawbag · 04/01/2021 21:44

There is nothing stopping you from going on your afternoon walk.

There is nothing stopping you from going to a garden centre either.

Don’t personally see the point of this post tbh.

Jangle33 · 04/01/2021 21:45

Honestly please tell me they are closing garden centres. How can they be open and schools closed? It’s not ok on any level

SpiderinaWingMirror · 04/01/2021 21:46

You can leave the house for work, for exercise, for food, for medicine etc etc etc
Go for 2 walks and always take a carrier bag.
Hate curtain twitchers.

Buddytheelf85 · 04/01/2021 21:48

What? There’s no limit on outdoor exercise is there?

Also, the ‘I can’t do X but I can do Y’ whinge is getting sooo old. Although to be fair your one (if it were actually true) would actually seem inconsistent, which is more than can be said for most of them.

Same! All complaining about children and the 'youth' being superspreaders!
nicky7654 · 04/01/2021 21:49

I'm not gonna be anal! If dogs need 3 walks then they shall have 3 walks!!! Silly rules 🙄

Oh wow. Only a couple of posts in until the ageism starts 🙄
Nekoness · 04/01/2021 21:51

You’re also allowed to go to house viewings. Just go for a walk and pause at every property with an estate agent sign, thoughtfully looking at the state of their windows or their pointing. 😂

AliceAbsolum · 04/01/2021 21:51

It is true! Garden Centres are open, but you must go out only once a day for exercise in your local area.

I'm not making it up, read the guidance.

According to another poster, that's great - they'll all get Covid which will protect the young people who should be able to continue with life as normal

notanothertakeaway · 04/01/2021 21:53

Jeez, the pandemic escalates, govt brings in ever tighter restrictions, and people on this thread are already encouraging OP to break the rules and take extra walks! No wonder the virus continues to spread. FFS

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 04/01/2021 21:53

Where does it say once a day? I have a dog who needs two walks!

Starry4120 · 04/01/2021 21:54

I haven’t fully read the rules yet! So is it once a day walk? Are we allowed to drive to exercise?

Honestly no one is going to police it. If I were walking in a busy public area then yes I’d limit it but I live in the middle of nowhere. It really makes no difference if I go on 1 or 5 walks a day (not that I got time for multiple walks). I don’t see anyone!

Last year I got flamed for wanting to go on 2 walks. I think I took dc for a walk in the morning and then when hubby was home I wanted to go on my own for some alone time. I was worried about it and told not to do so. I chuckle thinking about it now and that I ever worried about it. Going for an extra walk in the middle of nowhere poses no risk to anyone.
