“I deeply regret having to do this …”
“I do this with a heavy heart …”
"I’m fully, fully reconciled to that"

@BarbaraofSeville presumably he can scribble "And all the other areas" at the end of Little Gav's holiday 'Contingency Framework' homework assignment.

notevenat20 · 04/01/2021 15:22

When do you think the lockdown will start?

Ridcully82 · 04/01/2021 15:22

Tier 4 for all would also mean shielding would be nationwide again.

Eileithyiaa · 04/01/2021 15:22

Imagine being asked by a neighbour to go on furlough 😂😂

HibernatingTill2030 · 04/01/2021 15:22

@Jourdain11

It needs to be properly enforced- army on the streets issuing £500 fines for non key workers, supermarket bags searched for non-essential items.

Oh, honestly! Who the hell gets to decide what's essential anyway?

Quite. I brought a bottle of coke on my last supermarket trip along with my bread, milk, eggs etc. Flog me.
tinselearedcow · 04/01/2021 15:22

@LoudTree

Hopefully he will announce a real lockdown for the first time- no one leaves home until April 1st unless a genuine key worker.

A neighbour in my street is a (totally non-essential) construction worker and has been asked repeatedly by myself, DH and several neighbours to go on furlough to reduce the risk of transmission to the area. He has refused Hmm

No exercise, no popping to the shops for a bottle of wine Hmm

Oh, you made me laugh with this, thanks.

I feel sorry for your neighbour, though.

PhilCornwall1 · 04/01/2021 15:23

Alas..

I'm following what Nicola did.

Hmm I think you need to read that back and have a long hard think about what you are really saying.

Do you SERIOUSLY imagine that people can 'go on furlough' just because they want to??

LittleG69 · 04/01/2021 15:23

@LoudTree I don’t know where to start with your post (assuming it’s not satirical) but you thinking that someone can get themselves furloughed shows how out of touch you are with reality

Seasaltyhair · 04/01/2021 15:23

@TammyHullfigure

Who would you like instead?

Mr Blobby?

This has just really made me laugh Grin
tinselearedcow · 04/01/2021 15:23

@Ohchristmastreeohchristmastree

They sent schools back today!!!!! WTAF!

It’s almost like they want to see if it can get worse. It’s like they have stuck a fork in a plug socket just to see what happens!

Fork in socket would explain the hair?

You've asked your neighbour to go on furlough and you want the army patrolling the streets?!

Come on.

TheCovidHalfStone · 04/01/2021 15:24

Me neither.

annevonkleve · 04/01/2021 15:24

@MaudesMum

With the exception of school closures, there's no real difference between Tier 4 and lockdown, is there?
Also no outdoor activities for kids.

8pm on a Monday night (before most schools reopen on Tuesday) is apoplectically last minute even for Boris Johnson.

What a fuckwit.

knittingaddict · 04/01/2021 15:25

I'm expecting full lockdown.

Personally I can cope with that better than my daughter working (she's in nonessential retail), schools closed and us doing childcare. However I'm very sorry for those who will be so stressed trying to work and having children in lockdown. Flowers Wine

Mr Blobby?

I’m not sure he would be any worse. They do look similar so we may not notice.
PhilCornwall1 · 04/01/2021 15:26

Oh yes, but reduced the fine this time and now telling neighbours to stop work.

VickyEadieofThigh · 04/01/2021 15:27

Please note that whatever he announces (and knowing his record so far, it will not be as much as is needed) won't come into effect until at the earliest one minute into Thursday -because Parliament have not been recalled until Wednesday and they will have to vote on any new measures.

Manteo · 04/01/2021 15:27

Oh no, DD had such a nice day at school today and has excitedly been telling me what they've got coming up. Sad

ListenLinda · 04/01/2021 15:27

@LoudTree oh ffs 🙄
