Day 2/3 of symptoms and feel so unwell - can anyone handhold?

Hello,

I’m sorry for another 89 millionth covid thread. I’m on either day 2 or 3 since first symptoms started, after I was in close contact with a confirmed positive a few days earlier. I am feeling really scared.

I feel really grim. Nausea, dizziness, shaky, temperature, chills. Can’t really move from bed.

Anyone else early in the illness right now want to connect or hand hold? Or is there perhaps anyone a bit further on who could share a bit about their progression of symptoms?

This just feels really scary as I can’t imagine how much worse it will get.

@lefluffyPants are you taking paracetamol every few hours without fever rising or as n when fever rises. Because as of now I need it 12 hours apart.

LeFluffyPants · 22/12/2020 14:40

I’m just taking it every six hours ish as it really helps with the achy/fluey feelings too. My fever seems to have come down and stayed down since last night now x

@LeFluffyPants @ShopoholicIn on day 1 I was talking paras just with a temp but not coughing a lot so taking for discomfort too .
My DH had to take Ibruprofen for back pain and that worked for him. I think we can take this now can't we whereas at the start of the pandemic we couldn't.
Am feeling a lot more ' tight ' today - just want that to go away! Want it al to go away!!! Doesn't help that my boss is back working after mild illness last week. She bounced back.

girlofthenorth · 22/12/2020 15:14

Things that are helping
Inhalation's
Acidophilus for stomach
Hot bath Last thing at night.
Lying in front

LeFluffyPants · 22/12/2020 15:22

@girlofthenorth I just wrote on your thread too!!

Yes such good advice about inhalation’s and lying on front.. and yes I think the advice now is that ibuprofen is ok.

Day 6 - such a great sign if you’re feeling better! I think you might be able to relax a bit soon, seems unlikely you’d get it very severely now? X

LeFluffyPants · 22/12/2020 15:23

Oh sorry you said you’re feeling a bit tight as well, that’s grim. Hope that will ease up a bit - did you mention you have asthma? Do your inhalers help with the tightness at all? X

can i join too? Day 6 right now, i also have no cough but i have temperature. My normal body temperature is around 36.5 and it's persistent at 37.1/37.2. Sometimes drops with paracetamol but it's not been consistently helping.

I also have watery stools and feeling v drained and tired. Tightness around the chest too.

Hope everyone has a good evening and night.

LeFluffyPants · 22/12/2020 17:04

Hi @user34254356 please join us, sorry you’re feeling poorly too! How are you feeling now?

Our symptoms sound pretty similar I think - my temperature is also up and down but not super high and I’ve had an upset tummy

You’re a couple of days on from me so do you mind me asking - have your symptoms changed or got any worse/better over the last few days? It’s just so hard not knowing what might be coming xxx

ToastieSnowy · 22/12/2020 21:56

Day 4: By 3pm today the only symptom I had was feeling tired by 7pm (it’s now 10pm) i feel absolutely fine, no symptoms at all not even tired.

I have a feeling this is the top of the rollercoaster and I’m about to free fall Confused

girlofthenorth · 22/12/2020 23:45

Don't worry @user34254356 that's still a normal temp. If it goes above 37.8 that's higher. Though sometimes I feel awful with a temp just of that. So I know it depends.

girlofthenorth · 22/12/2020 23:49

@LeFluffyPants I've spent the evening coughing- I've got another chronic condition that flares up when I cough- neurological so a bit worried that's going to kick off too.
Still feel tight but not as tight as earlier.
Hope you have a good sleep. @ToastieSnowy the symptoms just seem to change all the time!

user34254356 · 23/12/2020 04:04

@LeFluffyPants my symptoms unfortunately have abated so far and chest pains was a new one on day 5 for me. I hope on day 7 i am on peak now.

user34254356 · 23/12/2020 04:05

@ToastieSnowy that's great if most symptoms are already gone! you are one of the lucky ones

Cliffdonville · 23/12/2020 05:03

Day 4 for me, and have developed the feeling of something really heavy on my chest. Not much sleep over the past few days as I've been aching so much, temperature goes up and down and I've had the worst headache but that has eased now. Hope everyone feels better soon, it's awful isn't it!

SD1978 · 23/12/2020 07:34

Sorry/ I can't see- have you been tested and are positive, or are assuming you are due to feeling unwell and having contact?

LeFluffyPants · 23/12/2020 12:40

Hi everyone, how are you doing today?

I feel very tired and achy but otherwise not too bad. Day 4-5 now. Maybe a bit of chest tightness.

My results are still not back! Weird. I mean, I’m going to assume that I have it seeing as I had close contact with confirmed positive five days before I got a temperature! But would still be good to know for sure.

@ToastieSnowy how are you feeling today? You really might well be over the worst of it rather than about to go downhill!

@Cliffdonville sorry you’ve been feeling rough as well! Really hope this is the worst of it and it starts to get better from here.

@user34254356 so sorry you’re still having all the symptoms and chest pain too, so rubbish. Day 7 - should hopefully mean this is as bad as it’ll get though I think. Sending Flowers

@girlofthenorth how are you feeling today?

Healing wishes to all xxxx

LeFluffyPants · 23/12/2020 12:41

Oh and meant to say, DH got his results back and is negative - he must be naturally immune or something because his dad was coughing all over him on his first day of having symptoms!! But sooo glad he feels fine as no idea how I’d have looked after my 2 and 4 year olds this week 🙈

girlofthenorth · 23/12/2020 13:03

@LeFluffyPants good about your DH !
I'm ok , no worse today , chesty cough still there , finding it odd how little things come and go . And big things like the tightness , seems to have lifted , hopefully won't come back but I have a feeling it will...at some point, sorry I'm a bit doom and gloom today , I think it's because I can see the day 10-14 in sight !!

@Cliffdonville I had that feeling in my chest on day 4 . Hang on in there, if it gets too much , phone 111 for advice , they were good with me day 3Thanks.

LeFluffyPants · 23/12/2020 14:53

I’ve just been hit with the most intense fatigue. Never known tiredness like it, can barely crawl out of bed. Sad

Honestly I might never forgive my father in law. What the hell was he thinking coughing on everyone and not bothering to mention he was getting a covid test?!

OP posts:
DarlingCoffee · 23/12/2020 15:19

Hello, can I join please? I could use a handhold too. Day 3 for me and as some other posters have said I have developed really strong muscle aches and pains in my legs and bottom. Switching to ibuprofen and hot baths seems to be helping but feel very sore and doddery Sad

TheLuckiest · 23/12/2020 15:20

Can I join in?? Tested positive yesterday Sad

Symptoms started to really kick in on Sunday. Just felt 'weird.' Dizziness & chills mainly. Only recognised symptom was a high temperature but that's gone now. Meant I got a test though but wasn't even that high (38.4)

Feeling OK today but new symptoms include horrible backache and upset stomach.

I too am a bit concerned that it'll suddenly hit me with something awful.

It's the gift that keeps on giving isn't it??

Lampzade · 23/12/2020 15:33

Tested positive for COVID.
I have had back ache, loss of taste and smell, tight chest and fatigue.
Just hope it doesn’t get worse

user34254356 · 23/12/2020 16:42

@LeFluffyPants that's great news on your DH. Same here - no one in the family has tested positive ! seems everyone has stronger immunity than me.

Do you have any fever, raised temperature or is it just the fatigue?

ShopoholicIn · 23/12/2020 17:56

@lefluffyPants such a great news about your DH. One thing less to worry about. I am waiting for my family's test results to come back now.

@TheLuckiest Good you don't have temperature. On day 5 that's my main problem now, I Hope your back ache and stomach issue resolves itself.

@user34254356 Hi hope your chest tightness will go soon and u feel much better..

@girlofthenorth Hope your cough and tightness have resolved now. Sending you Flowers.

@Lampzade Hi which day are you on.

@DarlingCoffee hey hope your muscle ache gets better. Welcome to the group.

ToastieSnowy · 23/12/2020 18:22

Morning (sort of) didn’t get out of bed until 4pm, good job my kids can get food themselves. Not much energy, fatigued with a stuffy nose but that’s about it, Raised temp to my usual but not enough to be a fever. If it keeps like this I’ll consider myself very lucky. No idea whether it will though.
