But look whats come true now, Wales have introduced a health passport.

When some of us were raising this we were told it won't happen, we are unhinged and conspiracy theorists spouting out rubbish.

Look whose laughing now...welcome to your new normal and it'll be be coming to rest of us too.

Link?

WankPuffins · 02/12/2020 14:38

It's been on the World Economic Forum for sometime now as well (called the freedom pass). But whenever I've mentioned it, I've been told to stop looking at conspiracy sites. It's not a conspiracy site Confused

larrythelizard · 02/12/2020 14:39

This isn't new. There's certain counties in Africa where you have to prove you move had the yellow fever vaccine in order to enter the country.

CrunchyCarrot · 02/12/2020 14:39

I found it, the Mirror:

www.mirror.co.uk/news/politics/people-wales-id-cards-prove-23102143

JS87 · 02/12/2020 14:42

I think all they have said is that you will be issued with a card with the date of your vaccination on and the date that your booster is due (and presumably ID identifying information). They haven't said it is going to be used for anything. It is standard procedure to issue a record of vaccination after receiving a vaccine.

meditrina · 02/12/2020 14:42

I think the reality is that the Welsh Government has said it will provide a certificate of vaccination. I already have a Yellow Book (international certificate of vaccination) as I suspect many frequent travellers have. It's possible thus vax could be added to that.

Why wouldn't you want a record of your immunisations?

conkersarebonkers · 02/12/2020 14:43

This?

"Those receiving a COVID-19 vaccination will be given a credit card-sized NHS Wales immunisation card which will have the vaccine name, date of immunisation and batch number of each of the doses given handwritten on them. These will act as a reminder for a second dose and for the type of vaccine, and it will also give information about how to report side effects."

Official link

Doesn't seem particularly controversial?

Coriandersucks · 02/12/2020 14:44

Do you also believe the vaccine is going to alter our dna?

Lots of cts jumping up and down with excitement at being ‘proved right’ but it’s a bit of a leap to go from a document showing you’ve had a vaccine to the new world order....

QueenBlueberries · 02/12/2020 14:44

YOu get one of those whatever vaccine you get. We went to a country on the African continent last year and we needed extra vaccinations, we had a card with unique code and date of the vaccine and batch number, and we had to show it when arriving at passport control.

Welcome to the real world, this has been going on for years and years.

Op really is this it?
sleepwouldbenice · 02/12/2020 14:49

My opinion still stands....

Spottybluepyjamas · 02/12/2020 14:50

Why is this a problem? You have to have evidence of vaccinations when you move in and out of a lot of countries. That's a good thing.

ramblingsonthego · 02/12/2020 14:55

So they same as the red book for kids where it stores all the batch codes and details on their vaccines? The same that the gp gave me when I had holiday vaccinations and they give you a little book to show at the other end if needed?

A non news story then............

Heatherjayne1972 · 02/12/2020 15:02

When I started a new job they needed to see the dates for my ( mandatory) inoculations
Something like this would have made life a lot easier

EveryoneRevealsThemselves · 02/12/2020 15:06

Yes how dare they give you an easy to read reminder of when you had your vaccine and when you need your booster. The horror.

lunar1 · 02/12/2020 15:09

Hopefully England will do the same.

EBearhug · 02/12/2020 15:10

I've got a record of every vaccination I've ever had, from my first jabs as a baby, including a yellow fever vaccine and a booklet listing all the extra vaccinations I had when I went travelling. I just add in flu vaccines when they happen, which are the only ones the nurse didn't write down in a record for me. So I don't think this is any different.

Me too. It makes travel (and in my case immigration) much easier.

Maybe the lizard people already got me though. 🦎

CuriousaboutSamphire · 02/12/2020 15:13

Are you seriously CTing because, like many other vaccines, there is going to be a yellow card for covid vaccination?

You don't travel much, obviously!!?

pastandpresent · 02/12/2020 15:16

It's going to be needed. Otherwise how you keep on track of it? You need something to record your vax details.

TwentyViginti · 02/12/2020 15:21

Grin

I hope England gives proof of covid vaccine uptake too.

But maybe I'm a lizard.

I know. I've a few friends who are looking sheepish when I remind them what is actually happening, after they called me a tin hat conspiracist.

What did you say? You have a record like the red book for children. Do you get fearful of that too?
CuriousaboutSamphire · 02/12/2020 15:28

Tragedy don't try holidaying outside the EU. that yellow card has been compulsory for decades!

Your friends will be sniggering behind your back!!

picklemewalnuts · 02/12/2020 15:29

I've got one of these for the dog. When he needs a booster, it's important he gets the same type as previously. When the brand changed he had to have two to ensure cover.

It's perfectly sensible- it will be very transparent if you've had a type that later proves to have been less effective or have issues.
