Sooner than expected! Wondering what he will say...

I wonder if all these timewasters are on speed dial just waiting for a call to ask "any chance you can come and chat some repetitive shit for a while, Boris is pissed again"

OhYouBadBadKitten · 31/10/2020 17:31

What it shows is that they haven't agreed what the lockdown will consist of I think. Which if true is gobsmackingly shit, because surely you would have already got a plan in place over the summer.

lyralalala · 31/10/2020 17:32

@Peppafrig

So this announce is just for England . I wonder when the first minister will address us in Scotland .
She only announced the new tiers yesterday did she not?
Lockheart · 31/10/2020 17:32

The fact they keep delaying it does not instill confidence, does it?

GabsAlot · 31/10/2020 17:32

i thought they had to vote in westminster for it to officialh go through isnt this just for the public

BellsaRinging · 31/10/2020 17:34

Do you think it's trouble from the teaching and lecturing unions? Not that I would blame them...

Ickabog · 31/10/2020 17:35

We just had a very similar conversation in our house. 🤣🤣
kirinm · 31/10/2020 17:35

What an incompetent piece of shit Johnson is. He and Cummings have nothing but contempt for us all.

Onadifferentuniverse · 31/10/2020 17:35

I think they’re probably discussing schools

Blondiecub0109 · 31/10/2020 17:36

Why is the bbc giving airtime to Neil Ferguson?

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 31/10/2020 17:37

They were going to do it before the England rugby game but Boris thought it might overrun and he'd miss the start. So they've scheduled it for after the game. Then he can watch the Ireland game with a good glass of Claret once he's finished.

TiersOfAClown · 31/10/2020 17:37

I was thinking the same myself. I don't know how he has the front to show his face in this context, to be honest.
DuncinToffee · 31/10/2020 17:38

Regulations will be published on Tuesday and MP's will vote on it on Wednesday according to Peston

MadameMinimes · 31/10/2020 17:39

More likely to be trouble in the party than from unions. The teaching unions are toothless now.

He doesn’t actually need the votes in his party as Starmer publicly promised him the votes he needs to pass a circuit breaker. I think Boris would rather walk through broken glass than use labour votes to pass it though.

MarshaBradyo · 31/10/2020 17:40

More likely stark economic reality than unions holding it up.

SophieB100 · 31/10/2020 17:40

I'm MNetting whilst Sky News is repeating the same stuff, as we await our dear leader. Seen that poor lady in Devon crying about 4 times now, about her shop closing again, when her town has a handful of cases.
It's such a shame.

And, according to Beth Rigby, he's going to stick us all in Tier 4. Which is a lockdown, but with schools open.

Lovely.

Peppafrig · 31/10/2020 17:40

@lyralalala yes she did . I just checked twitter and she has updated advising against all but essential travel to England .

SophieB100 · 31/10/2020 17:41

They're voting on Monday apparently, with rules coming in on Thursday (according to Sky).

NonCisWoman · 31/10/2020 17:43

This is ridiculous. On Sky News, the newsreaders are just interviewing each other whilst they wait! They obviously didn't expect this.

That would be quite funny, if the situation wasn't so bloody serious.
ScottishStottie · 31/10/2020 17:45

I have to travel from the north east to edinburgh for work on tuesday... Am i allowed?

Im not a keyworker, the job itself isnt 'essential' but its work so on an individual level its essential to me. Will nicola turn me away at the border?

PhilSwagielka · 31/10/2020 17:45
@ivftake1 So just shut everything down completely instead and get Army to deliver emergency supplies to anyone who is too weak to survive four weeks without food. Most people in this country have enough reserves in their bodies.
OK, you’re definitely fucking with us now or trolling. I refuse to believe anyone is that stupid.

Tanith · 31/10/2020 17:46

Our local politicians are incandescent with rage. They've had no guidance whatsoever, no-one knows what's going on.

Although he would never in a million years admit it, I expect that includes Jeremy Hunt, who has only yesterday sent out a circular to every house in his constituency, promoting his "Bounce Back" campaign to get us all out there again.

Peppafrig · 31/10/2020 17:46

@ScottishStottie yeah going to work would count as essential I’m pretty sure .

bigchris · 31/10/2020 17:47

@ScottishStottie, you'd have to look at the scottish gov website

I take it it's not a meeting that can be done by zoom lol
