its fine for eduction unions to say schools should close but they still not ready for online learning even though they were told to get it going
We provided a minimum of 5 lessons a day online from April to July, covering the three core subjects daily and the other subjects at least once a week. All core subject lessons included pre recorded videos made my teaching staff, who were also in school teaching full bubbles of key worker and vulnerable children.
We didn't do live lessons as this was definitely not the way forward for our school catchment and community as a whole.
We are providing home learning daily every time a bubble closes, and at least core subjects every time a child has to self isolate. Again mostly accompanied by pre recorded videos by teaching staff who are all teaching FT in school daily.
I know all this is happening as I am the one who oversees and coordinates it all.
All our local schools are providing home learning online for closed bubbles. The secondaries are usually providing some live lessons alongside this too, for both bubbles and individuals self isolating.
I would have thought many schools could be providing remote learning more quickly this time round, if they needed to be.
