That draft legislation is interested, @ceeveebee

There’s no mention of clinically extremely vulnerable...!?

Hmmph · 03/11/2020 18:21

Very exciting vaccine news if that happens. I wonder how long before they can get onto the next categories down.

ancientgran · 03/11/2020 18:25

MRex The care home regular swabbing was billed as starting 6th July, maybe didn't fully kick in until about a month later... Hmmm... Still too early for the uptick in cases we can see in your graphs Didn't start in the home I work in (well I do admin so working from home at the moment) until early October. I'm not sure why we were so late, home my aunt is in started in late July/early August I think. Maybe they just left the South West till last as our numbers were so low in July/August.

Data may be updating although message says not to refresh website until Invalid date Hmm

We are updating the data…

The process takes approximately 15 minutes to complete. Please do not refresh the website until Invalid date.

AnyFucker · 03/11/2020 18:34

ancientgran · 03/11/2020 18:35

WhyNotMe40 · 03/11/2020 18:39

I'm getting "invalid date"!

sashagabadon · 03/11/2020 18:42

Great vaccine news

Quarantino · 03/11/2020 18:42

@RedToothBrush

Vaccine to start being rolled out in December all being well

First the cavets.

Its 50:50 whether it will indeed be ready.

Priority given to over 85s and front line workers first.

www.pulsetoday.co.uk/news/breaking-news/covid-vaccine-des-set-to-be-announced-imminently-for-december-start/
Exclusive: Covid vaccine DES set to be announced imminently for December start

Exclusive A new DES is set to be announced imminently for practices and PCNs to start administering a Covid vaccine from the beginning of December, Pulse understands.

Practices and PCNs will be asked to prepare to give the vaccine to over 85s and front line workers from the start of December, numerous sources have confirmed to Pulse.

There are currently two vaccines that are being prepared, with one requiring two shots and needing to be kept at minus 70 degrees.

Alongside GPs and PCNs, there will be teams delivering it to care homes, and at-scale delivery centres.

And

It remains unclear exactly which vaccines will be administered, but Pfizer’s vaccine in development has to be kept at minus 70 degrees, while the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine was shown to be more effective when administered in two doses.

I can't work out what DES stands for here - any help?
Witchend · 03/11/2020 18:44

I'm just getting yesterday's data still.

RedToothBrush · 03/11/2020 18:45

DES - 'directed enhanced service'

Shitfuckoh · 03/11/2020 18:50

I'm still just getting this message:

Owing to technical difficulties, we have not received cases data for England. We will update the service as soon as possible.

everythingthelighttouches · 03/11/2020 18:54

Just coming on here to check if they have released the data for today??

All my usual sources are drawing a blank but also not talking about or mentioning a delay....

HoldingTight · 03/11/2020 18:59

It’s really late today. Wonder what is behind the hold up.

PrayingandHoping · 03/11/2020 19:02

@ceeveebee thanks!!!

exiledfromcornwall · 03/11/2020 19:10

On our local news show they said the delay is because they are doing something to the website.

They should: it's called update.
MRex · 03/11/2020 19:12

@CoffeeandCroissant - that's a great link, I love those heat maps! (If only they also had nation and region with drill-down...)
We need BigChocFrenzy back to add that and the poo dashboard to our links!

NeurotrashWarrior · 03/11/2020 19:28

A Gp friend who also works higher up in nhs management has been telling us since early September that they were instructing practices to organise the logistics for vaccine roll out in November. Last week he said it was definitely a go in December. So it fits with that report.

Originally he was saying wider groups, eg over 50s and flu groups, not sure if that's changed to the really extremely vulnerable.

Obviously not a lot will change yet but it's hopeful news.

Cornettoninja · 03/11/2020 19:29

Still checking up on this thread - so thanks to all who make contributions Smile

I hate it when the figures are late - gives me the willies Sad

cathyandclare · 03/11/2020 19:46

20018
397 deaths

cathyandclare · 03/11/2020 19:48

High number of deaths, but figures look less alarming when you look at date of death.

TheSunIsStillShining · 03/11/2020 19:53

Testing has not been as low as yesterday for weeks now.
Avg on Pillar2 is around 200k, yesterday: 120k..

I have a sinking feeling that our numbers are better because we chose to put our heads in the sand.

FeelingBIue · 03/11/2020 19:54

@cathyandclare

20018 397 deaths
But 70K fewer tests processed than yesterday. Only 207k is a VERY low number.
