Carrying on from the old thread....

Still no email about the Christmas slots.

On the back of recent posts I went I to my waitrose order for a tinker earlier. Pleasantly surprised to see everything in stock and lots of choice still.

Annoyingly I can't get a slot for a regular shop though so I'll have to stick with reserved for now.

Egghead68 · 21/11/2020 23:20

@GatoradeMeBitch

Is most M&S Christmas stock sold out or was it never actually available on the site? I've been stalking some things since they appeared on the "new" section because I like M&S Christmas food, but as far as I can see most of it has never actually gone live.

Maybe it's prioritized for instore customers and we'll end up being allowed to choose from whatever isn't moving...

I’ve been keeping an eye on it and don’t think it’s ever gone live.

I stopped to fill up with petrol earlier and it was a BP garage with M&as. It had a big display of the tins of shortbread with the stag on the front for £5. It wasn't reduced or on special and was the same one that's online with Ocado for £5.50. It made me wonder if other items are more expensive on Ocado than in store?

Yep loads of them! We have now stopped buying M&S stuff on there because one week it added £10 extra to the shop. One item was double the usual price!

I noticed they did the same with a lot of Waitrose products when I had to use them in store during lockdown.

I see this as the start of the end for me using them long term anymore

Egghead68 · 22/11/2020 10:29

Yes Ocado does its own pricing. Some items are cheaper and some more expensive.

Fuss · 22/11/2020 10:53

Anyone else had an email this morning that says:

It's time to think Christmas, book a slot

Oh Ocado, you're so funny!

I had that yesterday. I can’t even access the Christmas slots. Even if I follow the link on the email.
PinkSparklyPussyCat · 22/11/2020 14:48

Does anyone know what happens with New Year delivery slots, are they released early like Christmas ones or are they released as normal? We've used Ocado for years but I can't remember!

StanfordPines · 22/11/2020 16:43

Just usual I believe but slightly less on NYE I think.

Fuss · 22/11/2020 17:03

Same.
It amused me I have to say, although had I not got my Waitrose shop organised I'd be extremely pissed off.

EggysMom · 22/11/2020 17:34

Why is this discussion showing as being on the Coronavirus board for me (rather than the Christmas board)?

GinAtMerlottes · 22/11/2020 18:19

It’s always been on this board, it originally started back in lockdown number 1 to discuss slot availability etc.

Egghead68 · 22/11/2020 18:29

Only one substitution and one missing item today (both M&S)

StanfordPines · 22/11/2020 19:38

Jars of mincemeat are back in stock.

Because when this thread was started, which was the follow up to a previous one, it was October and therefore nothing to do with Christmas.
lexloofah · 23/11/2020 10:07

I had been doing ok up until today but 7 items missing and no subs, all frozen items. I wonder if they have been running their freezer space down to make room for Christmas and Brexit.

GatoradeMeBitch · 23/11/2020 12:42

Our freezer stuff all missing today too, and bread again...

Why is it always things we're actually going to use up that are oos and never some wanky jar of condiments that was going to sit in the cupboard for 18 months Angry

GatoradeMeBitch · 23/11/2020 12:56

Actually, I did get my shortbread though, lovely, bigger tin than I expected. It's swings and roundabouts with Ocado lately!

Fuss · 23/11/2020 13:52

The list of things I cant add to this weeks shop is ridiculous. Everything from coffee to a basic box of tissues. No cling film, no redcurrant jelly of any kind other than an expensive £3 jar.

There is so much I cant get I'm going to have to go out and bloody shop.

Just so unrealisable. They’ve clearly cut so many brands to fit with the M&S deal

Onceuponatimethen · 23/11/2020 19:12

Was meant to be ‘unreliable’

Rub it in why don’t you.
IsThisNameTaken · 24/11/2020 09:51

No shortbread here either, but have just got this month's Star Reviewer coupons which was a surprise - wasn't expecting any for a while with lockdown and Christmas. Rather random selection of things - but some sliced truffle and toiletries that I would never normally buy - can't complain about free stuff!

Bubbinsmakesthree · 24/11/2020 10:11

I was just going to ask about the star reviewer thing - I’ve just been invited to join up. Is it worth it? I was planning to jump ship to Waitrose after Christmas, but is the lure of freebies enough to stay.

Must say the list of things I’ve initially been given coupons for is unimpressive - nothing I would normally consider buying, and includes Lynx body spray and some baby food Confused - we don’t have babies or teens in the house, you’d have thought they might be more targeted based on my shopping history. Given I’ve done my full weekly shop with them every week for about 2 years you’d think they’d have me a bit more sussed.
