Ocado tips, hacks, Toblerone and Christmas

Carrying on from the old thread....

Still no email about the Christmas slots.

One sensible sub today, pleasant driver no packing disasters and an amusing moment where the computer demanded ID for my bath salts....

Only the colour of the container of a disinfectant was subbed today.

But. 6.20 am the driver phones me to say he's been ringing the doorbell but had no response. Ask him to try again. Nope. The man is standing outside another house five minutes up the road ... This is Not The First Time.

I complained about the 3 for 5.25 offer and they sent me a £10 voucher,but the email was a standard email and didnt address the issue

Just got delivery, they have doubled several of my ordered items ie. 4 bottles of pop rather than the 2 I ordered, twice as many sausages etc. But they couldn't find a sub for salt!

No subs for me today and I've managed to book another slot for 10 December. Yay!

No subs or missing items today.

There seems to be good availability of delivery slots too - I had to change the time of a delivery I have booked for the first week of December and there was lots of choice still, almost any slot any day available for me to choose.

Ocado delivery tonight. No substitutions. But one thing not available and looking on the website it looks like it's another 5 ocado product they've removed from their range to be replaced by a m&s product that gets 1 and bloody awful reviews (most saying buy the ocado version instead).

Was anyone aware of a Cadbury, ocado promotion to win a hamper?

No subs for me today and I've managed to book another slot for 10 December. Yay!

No subs for me today but we did receive mouldy M&S lemons and squashed M&S butter. Ordered 18 bottles of wine for school teachers etc. Only needed 14 but thought I'd get 18 as it'd be easier with 3 cases of 6 but they came in cardboard wine carriers of 4 and then inside a carrier bag!

Mine was 90 mins early yesterday. He parked up for 45 mins before ringing the doorbell. Bit odd I thought when shortage of slots .

One missing item this morning - dishwasher rinse aid - can't understand how they can get stock of non perishables wrong.

Not surprisingly the crisps didn't survive being packed under 2.5kg of potatoes.

I don't want to panic anyone - but i've just been into amend my 23rd dec order and they've removed my turkey which I ordered when the slots were first open and now it has evaporated. Luckily I spotted it gone I have been in contact with them and they said there is no more stocks available They said to keep checking back for stock -
I said I didn't need 'more stocks' as I already had mine in the order. so looks like I'm going to have to get one elsewhere - so sod me for trying to be organised.

Phew, ,mine is still there. I'm not feeling relaxed about this order, though. We've got several places in walking distance where I could get a replacement if I had to. I just don't want to go to crowded shops at the moment.

OMG - *stop press** - it wasn't them with the turkey removal it WAS ME. WTF I have an email a week after I'd placed it saying I'd removed it and alot of other xmas stuff too, I must of edited the wrong order - what a literally donut.

So thought I'd confess here to save you all worrying about yours even if I do look a right plonker

I thought I was editing an order but realised I had created a new one so rang Ocado to ask if they could combine the two. So they did that and asked me if I wanted them to cancel the wrong order and that I had booked a Christmas slot too. I said yes but PLEASE DON’T CANCEL THE CHRISTMAS SLOT, and guess what. They cancelled the Christmas slot. I didn’t realise until going in a week later to do an order so now, of course, no Christmas slots to be had.

I got a hilarious response to my WTF is going on with stocks of basic stuff.

At 4am, some dude from Ocado emailed and sent me a link to M & S chopped tomatoes (can't find them anywhere so have saved that link thangyouverymuch), and then proceeded to tell me about a delicious soup he had made 🤣🤣 and that he wasn't that into baking. PMSL 🤣

My Ocado delivery came on time this morning. All present but delivery chap just put the bags on the (dirty and wet) step and was getting in his van when I opened the door (DH was in his office overlooking the drive and said he actually ran back up the path) so I have yet another load of bags uncollected. Last time I returned two weeks of bags I only got a refund for one weeks worth despite the driver running off before I could give him any bags on the previous occasion.

So they are sourcing their Mutti chopped tomatoes from Germany now it seems?!

If anyone needs a new go to chopped tomato for spag Bol etc they still sell the biona ones and they are amazing

Is most M&S Christmas stock sold out or was it never actually available on the site? I've been stalking some things since they appeared on the "new" section because I like M&S Christmas food, but as far as I can see most of it has never actually gone live.

Maybe it's prioritized for instore customers and we'll end up being allowed to choose from whatever isn't moving...

I wonder if they underestimated the amount that would be ordered and are favouring the stores over Ocado.
