I ordered an M&S meal deal. In my email for this mornings delivery, they said they had substituted the Pie, for another variety. When the shopping arrived, they had substituted the large pie, for a small pie, that frankly DH would eat 2 of. It’s less than half the weight of the original one. Didn’t realise till I unpacked, as it didn’t say the size on the receipt. I used to champion Ocado, and couldn’t praise them enough. There was an article in the papers yesterday saying how Ocado was the most expensive supermarket when they did a like for like shop. Booked my Asda slot for next week....

No Christmas email here either - customer for 17 years - smart pass for at least last 10 years! They say on Twitter that they are staggering the release to smart pass customers, but I'm obviously not valuable enough.
Would love to try Waitrose but not slots here for next 3 weeks.

I rarely had subs with Ocado but since the M&S collaboration started I’ve had a least one every single week, plus missing items. I’ve also been cut back to only being able to see 3 weeks in advance, and I’ve just been on to book my slot for 3 weeks ahead as I’m having a delivery today, and the earliest free slot is 5pm. November is grey and no sign of a Christmas slot. I’ve been a priority customer through this year and have a smart pass, and place a large order every week.

I've just signed up for Waitrose and booked a Christmas slot. It was free delivery and I seem to remember Ocado charge even when you have a smart pass

I can't book a Waitrose slot either, every single slot for the w/c 20th December is either showing as fully booked or not available. Sad

Ocado now saying to people they can't guarantee all Smart Pass members will get a Christmas slot as demand is so high?!

No Xmas slot here yet either. Anytime Smart Pass for over 8 years and was a priority customer. Now can't book beyond 23rd October. I'm using Waitrose more and more because their slots seem easier to access.

There was something in the Sunday Times (I think) last weekend about how Ocado can't increase their capacity as easily as other supermarkets because they use automated packers. They expect a 40% increase in capacity next year.
I wonder how many regular customers they will have left by then.

probably more than 40% if they dont sort themselves out

even the search facility is rubbish now. Was trying to find those pack of 3 mexican dips , searched mexican and only got the single pots, turns out i had to search tex-mex or dips
I was going to splash out on a forerib of beef for christmas and they only seem to have a rolled version which all the reviews claim is tiny

I find it all very frustrating, wonder what will be missing tomorrows order?

Smartpass holders do get free delivery for a Christmas slot, but you have to spend at least £90. At least that's how it works for me.

The problem I find now with Waitrose is that they no longer have some of my favourite stuff - the deli products - so if you want e.g. cheese or cold meat you have to buy the packaged stuff. I assume it is still available in-store but they don't deliver it (don't know if this is just my area, but that is how it is has been since lockdown).

I can see Ocado slots 4 weeks in advance and have no trouble getting one whenever I need it, whereas Waitrose slots are few and far between.

Smartness holders have to pay 9.99 for Christmas slot,( between 20th and 24th december) minimum spend £90, its not free

Report
GaryUnicorn · 09/10/2020 17:17

The £10 delivery is insulting. Waitrose is free, plus £40 minimum basket. I have a feeling they will monumentally fuck it up this year, now marks are directing food to order customers to Ocado.

Been talking with DH in the car on the way down to see DD earlier, the only reason I was keeping Ocado really was for a Christmas slot. I have that with Waitrose now. I may as well switch to Morrison’s who have a smart pass that’s half the price I’m currently paying.
I see no benefit at all in staying anymore.

The £10 Xmas slot delivery charge for smart pass holders is a piss take.

I never have trouble getting a slot with Ocado but M&S items are constantly out of stock. It's really very poor.

In normal times I would be trying out a Waitrose account instead now but a) Waitrose slots like hens teeth here and b) at least I am getting slots with Ocado and potential further lockdowns make me reluctant to give those up.

I've now had my Christmas email from Ocado and should be able to book from tomorrow onwards.

Had a further look at Waitrose and there are absolutely no delivery slots at all, this month or Christmas. Everything is either unavailable or fully booked...

Thanks for the new thread. I’ve booked both a Waitrose and Ocado Xmas slot. Will cancel one nearer the time depending on what I can get from each. Bit torn but Waitrose veggies Xmas options plus no delivery charge are swinging it at the moment.

Driver forgot to ask me about the subs on my latest delivery and I only remembered I didn’t want them after I brought all the bags in and had literally just shut the door. Too late of course even though he hadn’t even got back to the van. I was so pleased he was going to actually take some bags away this week that I think we both forgot about the subs.

Regarding prices, I’m getting a bit non plussed that I am apparently saving over £25 on deals but my comparable shop is only a couple of quid cheaper over all. So the deals aren’t really saving me anything then are they... Hmm

I got a text about Christmas slots today. Logged on to book and there are 0 available on 22-24. So have booked for 21 Dec. That seems unusually quick for the slots to go.

Had email few days ago, almost free choice of Xmas slots, had a delivery every week since February. Honestly it's been business as usual. There MUST be geographical influences. I'm in Lincs

Do I need to wait for a specific email from Ocado to book a Christmas slot? I get a weekly delivery slot, but don't have a smart pass. I can't see where I can book a slot...

Still no Christmas email here Sad

Had a delivery today and they must have left a bag in the van, because there were 3 items missing (including all the bread). Called customer services and they couldn't get hold of the driver, so told me to list the missing items in the email and they'll either arrange a re-delivery or refund me. Will not be happy if they don't re-deliver!

I haven’t had an email but the option to book one has popped up on the app.

Had an email telling me to book today, but its really slim pickings. Were there morning slots available for anyone else? All of my options were after 12pm which isn't ideal really.

Report
Chaotic45 · 10/10/2020 00:13

@StanfordPines I can't access the app- it's been telling me for ages that Ocado are rolling the app out to a few customers at a time. It's really odd. So I can't access slots via the app, and I can't see them on the website.

Maybe they are prioritising some customers first, and I'll have to wait?
