Carrying on from the old thread....

Still no email about the Christmas slots.

Yes @Furball! Garlic purée! I just feel they are fast becoming an unrealistic option for a family shop.

The cut off time is annoying too. Another USP gone.

I’m probably going to ditch my Christmas week order. Tried 2 weeks ago to do it and absolutely nothing was available, it was November how can they have so little stock available for Christmas dinner. I’ve managed to add bits to my order on the 18th that I can freeze but it’s ridiculous. Not paying the £10 delivery charge for half a Christmas dinner!

Noticed I had a couple of new coupons this morning - they're for money off of a Christmas turkey! Just to add insult to injury!

I've ditched our Christmas order, crazy to pay so much for delivery when we can't get the things we want, and I'm going to stop using Ocado regularly in the new year. We're already using a local veg box supplier and I'm looking at options for milk deliveries. I've been with Ocado for about 10 years but it's nose dived this year, such a shame.

My Thursday the 17th cut off has been brought forward slightly to lunch time tuesday, thanks for mentioning it, i'll keep an eye on it.

Also got all the new coupons and 90% of them are OOS.

DH's company has just sent us a Christmas hamper in lieu of a party (I am guessing).

As long a the veg box turns up and the butcher hasn't lost our order (unlikely) I am not too bothered what Waitrose can't sub/find for my Xmas order.

I have Ocado to thank for making me so organised/diversified.

Iceland have free delivery and you can change the order up to 11pm the night before. Just stocked the freezer with veg for Christmas, and it cost about £20 less than it would with Ocado.

My next delivery is next week, after which there’s nothing available at all. And today they took my monthly smart pass charge, happily listing all the benefits I supposedly gain. Not a single one, other than the odd 10 percent off yogurt, ever comes true. I’ve emailed to cancel the pass but no answer, hours later.

I’ve just managed to score a Christmas Eve Waitrose click and collect. I am beyond excited!

I’m thinking of dropping Ocado. I’ve been loyal to them for 10 years but the change to M&S has been shocking.
Does anyone know if I can book a regular slot with them?

I booked a 22nd delivery, thinking I would add items, well about nowish, but there's hardly anything to order...

At least there doesn't seem to be a penalty for cancelling so if it comes to it I'll cancel this time next week and just go to Sainsbury's. I'm not paying £10 for the privilege of one larger than usual shop.

6 missing items and 4 substitutions from today’s delivery, and it’s only a small delivery because half the stuff I wanted was out of stock!!

How can they have no carrots, no chocolate (standard milk bar), no oven chips?!

That sounds bad, CarryOnWalking. Xmas Shock

I can now place one order beyond the next one, up to December 31st - but not sure I can be bothered with the potential annoyance.

Today's missing item is M&S mince pies. Hmm Doesn't exactly bode well for getting Christmas stuff between now and Christmas... They've been ordered for about three weeks too so clearly it's the M&S supply chain again that is the issue here.

Luckily I had already secured an Abel & Cole delivery for next week for some Christmassy bits and their mince pies are much nicer anyway.

My Waitrose order is due today. It will be interesting to see what I get as I have gone to them for my Christmas delivery....

M&S mince pies....
I wanted a box of 9 mini pies with the stars on top, to make dessert plates with stuffed dates, a chocolate or two, a mini creme brûlée, but they were OOS, so instead I ordered a box of 4 luxury our best ever mince pies. When my order came they had been substituted with a box of six every day mince pies! Hopeless!

Report
Madcats · 10/12/2020 11:54

I had 1 substitution in my Waitrose order this morning. What I had forgotten was that, if something is out of stock and they sub, they charge you the price of what you originally wanted to order if the sub cost more.

I feel a bit stupid refusing to take a £14 beef joint now.

Fuss · 10/12/2020 12:05

2 subs in the Waitrose order. First class Christmas stamps for standard ones (I don’t use many so someone will get a birthday card next July that’s seasonal 😂) but the strange one, no cravendale 2 litre milk so they have subbed it for a 1 litre. Surely would have been better to send 2 x 1 litre?

I was in M&S food hall yesterday, shelves full of Christmas stuff, even the meats, pates, smoked salmon & cheeses were all there. Can't understand how hard it is to get them to distribution centre as well, they have had months to plan it.

I can just see Ocado blaming M&S and M&S blaming Ocado if there are Christmas stock cock ups as who really knows

@Fuss

I’ve only just started using the seasonal stamps I got last year (& then never sent any cards Blush)
And I still have a couple of 2nd class from years back.
Isn’t it weird - & a bit sad - how we hardly ever post anything any more?

No mince pies for me either. and no chocolate hazelnut spread - have subbed it for milk and cookies chocolate spread.

I think M&S haven't realised the full actual demand as they've literally never had so many customers handed to them on a plate via ocado. And they seem reluctant to let their stocks go to them for fear of maybe having their shop shelves empty.

But you would think that mince pies (as a christmas staple) would be ok. - there s no basics mince pies either - their ones are quite expensive in comparison to others, when I had to go in to get a joint of pork (which ocado delivery was missing), noticed that they were on offer in store a few weeks ago, (but not with ocado).

It wouldn't be so bad if you could get say a Mr Kipling type mince pie but you can't.

I'm off to Waitrose today to get some bits and bobs, so can pick up mince pies there. I'm sure I'll be lured into other goodies too Grin

Twice in a row I've had an 8 pack of Fanta or Coke with one can literally crushed into a square shape and leaking. And today the cellophane packaging on two parts of the meal deal was split. They need to install a gentleness program in those packing robots.

I’ve ordered all the long life things I need for Xmas to come tonight - stuffing, Turkey foil, mincemeat etc. I will report back on how much of it actually turns up!

I've just realised the milk that they delivered yesterday has a use by date on Monday 13th. Usually I have a weekly delivery and the milk is still in date when the next delivery arrives...

You should try the 24 pack pepsi...

On site it shows it shrink wrapped but it arrives like the ones in Tesco on a cardboard tray. I'm yet to get one of those in one piece as usually the cans have to be found in the van as they are rolling around out of the packaging. Have to count then every time and had the odd one missing a few times.
