A lot of the reviews uselessly say 'Not a patch on Waitrose! Bring back Waitrose'. It's not going to happen. M&S own a huge chunk of Ocado, so the link with Waitrose is dead and gone.

StanfordPines · 05/11/2020 20:15

Well I had an email and text saying that I was going to have to finalise my Friday order by Wednesday night but it has just let me edit it.

And I agree about the reviews @Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g. It’s like some people want to review the M&S stuff just to complain.

Aurorie11 · 05/11/2020 21:48

Chicken subbed for one more than twice the price, I rarely refuse subs but refused this one

mummabear74 · 05/11/2020 22:27

We are back to subs and missing items today. An M&S £4 piri piri curry was replaced with a Charlie Bighams Spanish chicken & potatoes at £7.50 so was subsequently rejected. Missing items included watercress and guacamole. We're really disappointed with the quality of the M&S fruit and vegetables and I've never seen garlic bulbs so small.

Shellingbynight · 05/11/2020 23:06

I'm still able to edit my deliveries up to the usual edit time, I can use the app (I've been able to use it for months) and everything is... well it's fine for me. I rarely get subs, no missing items, and I've got slots booked 4 weeks ahead. I booked my Christmas slot weeks ago and haven't been back to edit it, but I don't buy much 'Christmassy' stuff so it's a fairly normal type order for me. (I've had a smart pass for ten years.)

Whereas for me Waitrose are definitely a bit crap. Can't get a booking for love nor money. I'd like to switch between Ocado and Waitrose, but there isn't much chance of that. Occasionally a Waitrose slot appears - I got one last month - but I can't be bothered to keep looking on the offchance.

GiantKitten · 05/11/2020 23:29

I had email & text today giving cut-off at 10pm tonight for Saturday order, but was able to edit at 11.
Freezer pretty full atm though so I’m going to skip Ocado for a few weeks to run it down to make space for Christmas. Hope I can get one when I want it again Confused

ParadisePhantom · 06/11/2020 00:25

My Sunday afternoon order was cut off today but I got no email or text to let me know.

Ocado are saying on Twitter that they’ve had to close orders early as people are adding too much stuff to their orders.

lurkingattheback · 06/11/2020 06:53

Same here. Shop due Sunday evening cut off was Saturday and I can't edit it this morning. No email or text.

fishfingersfortea · 06/11/2020 09:03

I received a text & email yesterday notifying me of a cut off at 11pm for a delivery on Sunday morning. Logged into the account at 9.30pm last night and the order was already placed. I understand the need to manage supplies but why send out information that I can still add to the delivery then lock the order down?

fishfingersfortea · 06/11/2020 09:05

And for added annoyance I received a message on the COVID app last night telling me to self isolate for 10 days so the order was quite important as I’m not able to leave the house.

Why not buy the ocado garlic bulbs? They are large and never had a bad one.

The only thing I can't seem to get at the moment is the frozen chopped onions. I never had a problem getting the Waitrose ones, but since the swap to M and S they never have them in stock. They seem to have done a straight switch to M and S branded ones, but I can't get them. It's very frustrating as I cook most things from scratch, but hate chopping onions.

knittingaddict · 06/11/2020 09:13

I should probably add that generally speaking missing or substituted items doesn't seem to be an issue where we live. I had a larger than average order this week (£250) as I've started buying for Christmas and the only problem was the frozen onions. Everything else was is there.

IsThisNameTaken · 06/11/2020 09:15

Order arrived on time this morning - all there with no subs - first time in ages!

I've been able to book 3 weeks ahead for ages now but just went in to book for 3 weeks time and saying nothing available. Anyone else had their future orders cut down?

That's a bit daft of Ocado isn't it? I usually start buying a bit more in November in preparation for Christmas and I can't be alone. Unless people are stockpiling again.

I'll find out later and let you know when my order has been delivered this morning. I can usually book up to 4 weeks ahead.

You’ll be disappointed @knittingaddict ..... the Waitrose ones were in a reasonably strong resealable bag but I got my first M&S ones today. Bag isn’t resealable and seems flimsier (a worry if you to bash it to break up lumps).

My order was on time and all correct but I do think it’s getting more expensive whic I do worry about as I shop for an elderly, vulnerable neighbour. I tried to get registered with a cheaper option for her but as she is scared of using cards the account would have to be in my name I can’t get shops as I’m not vulnerable.

Several things that I’ve been able to get for her all through lockdown have now disappeared as well, not Waitrose products but other brands that Ocado seem to have dropped....

BuggerOffAndGoodDayToYou · 06/11/2020 11:03

Following this mornings delivery I’ve gone online to book future slots but I can’t see anything beyond 20th November......

Did you click the calendar to move it on? I have the next 4 deliveries, plus Xmas booked. Did the 4th one this morning for the 4th December.
OhYouBadBadKitten · 06/11/2020 11:42

I emailed ocado to tell them I'm on the ECV list. They responded asking me for the name of my health conditions. I find that staggering. I've had an email telling me not to go into shops, but they think it is ok to make a clinical judgement beyond my own consultant. How do I know that they are going to protect my health data?

Yes! Although I made a typo in my post it’s actually nothing after the 21st....

I’ve booked a Waitrose delivery for the week after next so will see how that goes. Our local store is only a small one though so they don’t stock quite a few of the things I would have ordered. I HAVE been able to order some of the things my neighbour has been missing so that’s good.

Yes - I've also been able to book 3 weeks in advance, until now Sad. I was trying to do mine at 3am (up with a teething baby) and it said no availability even then, so I think it's that they're changed what we're allowed, rather than all the slots for that day already being taken.
IsThisNameTaken · 06/11/2020 13:04

Looking at their twitter replies we're not the only ones @PowerslidePanda and @BuggerOffAndGoodDayToYou ... lots of people complaining about not seeing slots 3 weeks ahead and just getting the standard response 'we're very busy at the moment'. I know I got a refund for the month's smart pass following the Christmas fiasco but will be mightily pissed off if 13th Nov is my last delivery. No Waitrose availability round here either unfortunately.

Quarantino · 06/11/2020 13:12

I've been getting fortnightly slots and booking them well in advance and now the one on the 17th also looks like that's my last. Can't see a single slot after that.

Have been unable to get a slot with any other online supermarket despite having used them in the past, whenever I've looked - other supermarkets only seem to show a week in advance anyway. So without Ocado I won't have any grocery delivery whatsoever.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 06/11/2020 17:37

I can't get anything beyond my existing one on the 12th. I'm genuinely upset. I can't face going back to wondering how the hell I'm going to get food in without breaking shielding again.
