Carrying on from the old thread....

Still no email about the Christmas slots.

I was able to book one within the next 10 days just then, and later out, so it doesn’t seem to be universal. This was with the app.

PoulePouletteEternellement · 06/11/2020 17:47

Yup, back to staring at the grey calendar of doom. Other than one solitary date in a couple of weeks's time, it appears Ocado have no wish to cater to my needs for the foreseeable future.

Luckily I anticipated their treachery ...

mummabear74 · 06/11/2020 19:35

@knittingaddict I've had bad experiences with the Ocado lemons and bananas and the M&S garlic came up as a replacement for the Waitrose hence going with that. I can highly recommend the Ocado cucumber, grapes and blueberries. I just expected better from M&S based on my love of their food halls.

StanfordPines · 06/11/2020 20:22

Here is an interesting thing.
I was looking to see when my next available slot would be out of interest.
I clicked on my work address rather than my home address. My work is 1 mile away, almost the same postcode. I had more options on my work address than my home address.

NightmareLoon · 06/11/2020 20:41

FYI for everyone who had their Sunday orders cut off early, this was an error which has been rectified and you can still edit until 10!

PowerslidePanda · 06/11/2020 21:02

Thanks @IsThisNameTaken - good to know it's happening to basically everyone. That should at least mean the slots aren't disappearing (if nobody can access them) and hopefully we've got a chance to book one when Ocado deign to let us.

Have they learned nothing from last time around though? How hard would it be to drop everyone an email about it?

Fallpoetry · 06/11/2020 22:32

I can see slots from the 18th to the 4th, at least a few each day but most show lots of availability. I wonder why it varies so much between accounts?

PoulePouletteEternellement · 07/11/2020 08:52

Interesting article in the FT ...

Screenshot of headline, easiest to find for yourself.

My colleague at work doesn’t have any form of smart pass. He showed me his slot availability (we both live in the same delivery area) and he has lots to choose from right up to 20th December. He has also been able to get deliveries twice a week (I can only get one every seven days).

I’ve been a customer for a VERY long time and a smart pass customer since they introduced it but my customer is definitely not valued by them.

Mine still cut off now, was open again for an hour yesterday but then order placed again.

I have halved what I am buying g and going to do click and collect at Waitrose and Tesco. Works out cheaper too

Quarantino · 07/11/2020 09:37

OK I'm really angry now.
I know it's an overreaction but you can't even get M&S pitta bread on there any more! (Apart from 'free from'). M&S pitta bread is noticeably much better than your regular supermarket one, and now I can't even get it. What on earth was the point?! I used to buy it in the food halls all the time, it's not like it's something that had to be specially introduced.

Grrr! Still can't get a slot either yet obviously I will be charged for smart pass.

happilybemused · 07/11/2020 10:19

@Quarantino I buy the Cohens pitta bread from Ocado. Nicest pitta bread ever although the M&S Mediterranean ones are a close second

knittingaddict · 07/11/2020 10:21

After my delivery yesterday I was able to book another delivery for 4th December, so that's 4 weekly deliveries in advance. I don't necessarily expect that to continue.

I buy the Cohens too. It's the best.

Wolfcub · 07/11/2020 18:07

I stopped buying the Cohen's stuff after I had an entire pack of bagels with four day life in them arrived covered in white mould

happilybemused · 07/11/2020 18:17

@Wolfcub new packaging due to number of complaints.

Used to regularly throw away after day 2.

I'm assuming since getting colder they have cut back on the pitta range. Not great instore either

Quarantino · 07/11/2020 18:27

Hmm, the Cohens ones are far more expensive and also out of stock for my one remaining shop!
What's the link with getting colder and pittas? Just that they're seen as picnic food or am I missing something?

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 07/11/2020 18:48

well they have stopped stocking hippeas-assume M&S want to offer an own brand alternative? We are not impressed...

silvertogold · 07/11/2020 18:51

Joining the cause here! Can't get a slot. Normally have 3 weeks booked in advanced. Have my slot for next week but after that I can book nothing! Grrr

Wolfcub · 07/11/2020 19:27

Thanks @happilybemused I might give them another chance then

legoqueen · 07/11/2020 20:22

First delivery without subs today for ages - but I now can't see any slots to book beyond the slot already secured on 14th. Usually I can book for 2 weeks' time on delivery day. The freebies are a bit odd too - who doesn't like free choc but Mike's Hard Seltzer...I'm a bit past alcopop...

LloydBC · 07/11/2020 20:32

I asked for a refund for my SmartPass (£9.99 per month) - first response was some generic response about demand and M&S doing so I well(!), I pushed back again and got the refund.

79Fleur · 08/11/2020 08:03

Clearly they are struggling again, early cut off for editing orders, I can’t book a slot beyond 2 weeks, and yesterday’s delivery was missing 2 items (first time ever) At least I have my Christmas slot booked.

lurkingattheback · 08/11/2020 08:48

I have a delivery due today, no email yet about subs. No other slots are available on the web at all. Still no app access or reserved access. My smart pass is £4.99 a month, it increased from £2.99. I guess it's worth hanging onto for now.

Itisasecret · 08/11/2020 08:55

I’ve moved supermarkets. At least I know I have slots booked in the future and I can book them. The chances of me getting Covid or needing to isolate are high working in a school. I can’t risk not getting shopping. I’ll keep my Christmas slot and have another from the other supermarket.

Then I’m leaving.
