Competitive staying home

Have you stayed at home for 5 million years? Have you only left the house to shop for an elderly ladies milk but posted it all over social media? Did you shame your neighbour because their daughter visited them despite being their carer? Did you post abuse because one of your neighbours didn’t clap/stand silent/launch fireworks at the appointed time?

No Phoebe, no great hobbies. I was a bit tiddly when I posted on here last night or during the night and your post tickled me, no offence meant it was just funny. Or it seemed funny at the time. I paid for having a drink with hangover today and will not be imbibing for a while.

Possibly the maddest thread I've read on MN and I have some in the last few weeks. It's gonna be a long haul folks we just gonna have to chill the best we can and be kind whenever possible - it is always possible.

Lynda07 · 01/05/2020 20:42

No I didn't notice, Phoebe, honestly :-).

SeperatedSwans · 01/05/2020 20:42

I hear you OP.

If one more person tells me they've managed to not leave the house for 6 weeks, or they are living on water and bread because that's really all you need and you will kill people of you go to the shops I may enter some sort of rage.

What do these people want, a sticky gold star from the government for best sauspan banging at 8pm sharp on a Thursday night?!

Juts fuck off and get on with your own life, and leave everyone else alone. You've sealed yourself in your house now shut up about it, or do us the favour and make it air tight also...

Yesterdayforgotten · 01/05/2020 20:59

@SeperatedSwans Grin that's hilarious and sums it up nicely

Willow2017 · 01/05/2020 21:01

you may not have heard that phrase for a while I'm guessing mid 60's and through the menopause already???

I am neither and havent heard that used by anyone over 15 since the 80s other than by men faced with a strong woman not kowtowing to them.
As you so expertly demonstrated it was frequently used to shut women up who speak up for themselves by inferring they were obviously to hormonal to remember thier place.

Your posts sound like a petulant teenager. Grow up.

@phoebeBear you need to step away from this thread. You are sounding more irrational with each post

Its almost as im reading a different thread to phoebe

SeperatedSwans · 01/05/2020 21:58

It's ok Phoebe I've got a sticky star for you too if you want one too. Would that make you feel better?

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 01/05/2020 21:59

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 01/05/2020 22:00

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 01/05/2020 22:01

princess

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 01/05/2020 22:01

Rufus 🌟 ⭐️ 💫

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 01/05/2020 22:01

Yay!!!!!

😀😀

Thank you

TheGreatWave · 01/05/2020 22:02

And 'I haven't had a drop of alcohol since this started, can you say the same?'

I have no idea where this came from - but I can, go me. The fact that I haven't had any alcohol for about 10 years is totally irrelevant, I will just claim no lockdown drinking.

Anyway OP I get what you mean - just look at a 'how often do you go to the shops?' type posts

My local facebook is full of people screaming for the army to be on the streets, - would the army make us clap?

No one said you're not clapping

I didnt say anyone did say we weren’t clapping

No one is bringing down a single mum for not clapping on this thread

Still no idea where the football comes in

And im really sorry but ‘stick your star up my arse ‘ is a really weird thing to say...surely you want separated To stick the star up her OWN arse

LilacTree1 · 01/05/2020 22:11

Hi pigeon

I hope it’s not my situation/ mum’s clapping Stasi that’s set you off?

It is good to vent some anger though.

Police have said 200,000 people have snitched on neighbours. Makes me wish I believed in karma.

And all the people disingenuously pretending to care about mental health....🤯

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 01/05/2020 22:13

And im really sorry but ‘stick your star up my arse ‘ is a really weird thing to say

Now,now... don't kink shame.Grin

Thepigeonsarecoming · 01/05/2020 22:13

@RufustheLanglovingreindeer

Its almost as im reading a different thread to phoebe. Agree with this 100%. Each time I’ve politely responded explaining what my post was about, I’ve received a different random response about something I’ve not said. Then came the random insults! It’s just all a tad weird!!!

I really do hope said poster is ok and not struggling with their own mental health though, but I’ll refrain from responding to same in the future! Not sure my period status or fictional children need more discussion 😂

Can I please have a star though!!!!

@PhoebeBear

Didn't you start a thread bleating on about how mean people were to you when you first posted on Mumsnet? Maybe you should take your own advice, it's super relevant!

If it bothers you so much then delete or stay off social media. It's like taking to a 6 year old

And, for whats its worth. I agree op. I personally haven't left the house since the beginning of may and have begun sewing my children new clothes from all the toilet paper I hoarded. Unlike my feckless dh who has insisted on going to his elderly mother to deliver her shopping and collect her laundry.
