Competitive staying home

Have you stayed at home for 5 million years? Have you only left the house to shop for an elderly ladies milk but posted it all over social media? Did you shame your neighbour because their daughter visited them despite being their carer? Did you post abuse because one of your neighbours didn’t clap/stand silent/launch fireworks at the appointed time?

The OP made a post obviously blagging on about something and what exact response did she except?? 'Ooh my poor baby please censor your eyes and ears to the real life happenings and lets pretend it's all sunshine and rainbows'

Someone speaks the truth and she kicks off. My first hand evidence is from my mum who deals with this virus day in and out and her response is 'stop talking about your family'

Then she gets offended....
What was the point on this post?

Iwalkinmyclothing · 01/05/2020 17:39

I'm always a bit Confused at the posts on social media along the lines of "when I was out I saw too many other people out, clearly they are selfish and not observing the lockdown". If the poster has a legitimate reason to be out, how can they be sure all the people they saw don't also?

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 01/05/2020 17:42

Someone speaks the truth

You didnt speak the truth

You completely misunderstood what the OP was saying And apparently found some emoji ps and got a little excited

Its easy to do, i do love an emoji and i never thought i would 😀🎉

PhoebeBear · 01/05/2020 17:42

In my experience I have no reason to go out apart from food shopping with obviously is a must once a week...
Yes I completly understand people going out while shopping and looking after the older folks. My nana is 95 and living on her own, I would do anything , anything, to go see her but I know it's not worth risking it. She gets food from her neighbours so I know she's looked after. If I see people going out to keep others then belive you me I have no problem .
What annoys me is the kids playing in the street from sunrise to sunset, the people roaming about in their cars hopping to supermarkets in the need for a paddling pool for the kids while the sun is out.

Make is necessary to leave the house!

PhoebeBear · 01/05/2020 17:44

@RufustheLanglovingreindeer when I said that I wasn't talking about myself exactly... re read the comment ...

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 01/05/2020 17:45

Oh if ive missed it ive missed it phoebe

The rest of my post still stands 😀

PhoebeBear · 01/05/2020 17:45

@RufustheLanglovingreindeer okie doke 🙂

Thepigeonsarecoming · 01/05/2020 19:43

@PhoebeBear

I really don’t think you have properly read (or understood my initial post or any of the subsequent responses to you

My post didn’t once say people shouldn’t clap, nor did I advice people going out unnecessarily. I simply stated (more than once) that people should not be shamed when they are following the guidelines. Too many people have made up additional rules they believe should be followed which don’t actually exist

I was not offended by what you said, I was simply trying to explain over and over as you were completely misinterpreting what I was saying

I never said I was personally upset by people clapping, nor were my (non existent) kids upset or woke up

Your posts are becoming very worryingly irrational. I do hope you have appropriate support as the current situation is obviously seriously effecting you

Phoebebear
You may think you are being witty but your posts are getting more ridiculous every time you post. Maybe reread the op and dont be a dick?

Thaddit · 01/05/2020 20:00

If anyone is ‘on the rag’ as Phoebebear so charmingly put it, it would appear to be her.

MartyrGuacamole · 01/05/2020 20:02

Lol at Phoebebear, maybe she's tired and reading comprehension gone out the window? I get it OP. Someone on our road keeps posting them 'if someone asked you where you'd been for the last 7 days would you be proud or ashamed?' And 'I haven't had a drop of alcohol since this started, can you say the same?' Shit.

Well first of all, she may not have left her house but her husband has been out 4 or 5 times most days on his ridiculously loud motorbike and they have had different visitors pop round most days. (Because of our community I know these people, they're not isolating, don't need carers and no good reason for this). Secondly, she never bloody drinks so it's just making out like she is better than everyone else. She is getting right on my wick 🤣

Lynda07 · 01/05/2020 20:06

Phoebe: ".... what exact response did she except??" Do you mean 'accept' or 'expect'?

You're not very clear.

Laiste · 01/05/2020 20:14

Who the hell says 'on the rag' anymore? Hmm

PhoebeBear · 01/05/2020 20:25

@Lynda07 you seem to pop up whenever someone has a wrote something incorrectly. I'm beginning to think you're not even here for the topic but to check comments for spelling grammar that's not right. I know the schools are closed but do you have any other hobbies? 😬😬

People are competitively not drinking? Fuck me I couldn't have got through the first couple of weeks without alcohol.
I've cut down in the last week cos I think I'll be back to work soon ish.
But christ on a bike that's ridiculous and no ones business anyway.

Signed, a raging alcoholic

........
I haven't heard that expression for many years, it's quite crude. Anyway I really don't know what this thread is about but thought the opening post was quite lighthearted which is what we need right now.

NerdImmunity · 01/05/2020 20:31

I get where you're coming from OP - I've not broken the rules and actually haven't even stepped foot in a shop for 8 weeks now, but I'm fed up of social media brags about volunteering (in my mind, fantastic if you volunteer but it feels less selfless when you parade it on social media!) and hearing of people moaning about their neighbours actions!

Bananabixfloof · 01/05/2020 20:31

Laiste

Misogynists use on the rag, as a slur against women people who menstruate.
