Have you stayed at home for 5 million years? Have you only left the house to shop for an elderly ladies milk but posted it all over social media? Did you shame your neighbour because their daughter visited them despite being their carer? Did you post abuse because one of your neighbours didn’t clap/stand silent/launch fireworks at the appointed time?

What is concerning @PhoebeBear, people following the actual guidelines, or people guilt tripping other for the make believe ones?

I believe you sound like you're pissed at people showing off for following guidelines?

I've been home now 6 weeks straight and I'm beyond fed up, I'm currently on maternity leave too so with a little baby it's god dam hard. I wouldn't say I boast about it but having my mum and sister working with covid 19 patients on 12 hour shifts and hearing what they see- yup it definitely makes me want to stay home even more

I’m saying I’m pissed at people who do follow the guidelines being shamed for not doing what others have made up as necessary

Clapping/setting fireworks off is not necessary, no one will die if you don’t, in fact you are self isolating better!

Visiting an elderly person if you are a carer is allowed, they are vulnerable and may not survive otherwise. Shaming them on social media isn’t helpful or kind

Picked up paint brushes indoors and the sun shone so I dropped tools and did a load of stuff in the garden.
Things I'd never dreamt I am capable of.
Back on the tools indoors as the weather has changed.
I'm not going anywhere anytime soon. Oh no 😥 ☀️

I get annoyed when I haven't saw my family in over 2 months yet see my neighbours having bbq's every other weekend and inviting people over. I get frustrated when the furtherest I've went is down the street for a quick 10 minute walk and back and then I see family's out in groups of 5 etc off to the beach.

If you do your part then you're helping out, that's the way I look at it.
Also I've never clapped for the NHS despite having multiple family members working alongside simply because it's my babies bedtime around 8o'clock- if someone shamed me for that they can fuck clean off

We spent a month in quarantine, I don’t understand why anyone would voluntarily do that to themselves and then boast about it.

@Monty27 I agree with you. Stuck at home- make the most of it. I've learnt more cooking skills with chef partner being laid off from work, I can say I've quite enjoyed it! It's also nice to have someone home while I'm on my maternity leave as it can be hard with baby all day.

Current situations in the world are shit, agreed. But it could be a hell of a lot worse

My biggest achievement is having plenty of toilet rolls and last night I had a bit to drink, still feeling the effects.

I too haven't clapped outside, not once. Every week I forget about it.

You had responded several times emotional about an issue I wasn’t raising. I’m not against the guidelines or people following them

I’m against people being shamed for make believe ones like clapping. Or being shamed for visiting elderly relatives they are carers for. You have completely overlooked this though despite me saying it several times now

But yes tho use elderly people should calm down too, not call for their carers, as we’re all in this together as you say

@Lynda07 it's not a requirement to have perfect grammar, people arent necessarily english speakers, could just be their 10th language.

I think people are taking the whole situation too far and yes, too competitive. I just get on with it and hope it's over with soon, what more can you do?

@Lynda07 also the toilet roll comment ffs I thought people were past that stage. I never understood why stockpiling something to wipe your ass with was such a important thing. Hand sanitizer- yes

@PhoebeBear I haven’t approved, nor would I of mixed household bbq’s or parties. Just not being shamed for the things that are actually allowed under the guidelines. Why is this so hard to understand?

@Thepigeonsarecoming it's not hard to understand - I get your post.if you're doing something that's under the guideline rules the yes you shouldn't be shamed for it. Can I ask what it was?

@PhoebeBear again, I never said this post was about me. If is all over social media and mumsnet people being attacked/shamed for not staying indoors. And this isn’t about them popping out for a tennis match and cocktails, but doing things which are within government guidelines and completely legal. Also completely adhering to social distancing where safely possible.

You’ve come here with an agenda as you have family members in the NHS, looking to rant, however, I would gladly rant with you if someone did something completely risky to put them at harm.

Yes I get you op. Totally. There was a lot of it about on mumsnet in the beginning. It’s calmed down now to a greater extent. But still people are pulling others to pieces...... this thread is a case in point. I don’t think you’re the one, gagging for a fight.
