Yes she should complain if thats what happened its awful and no you cant remove a tag just by plashing it over the detector. You can cancel out one of those flat tags though. The staff member sounds awful it wouldn't have happened anywhere i worked in.

Actually, there's a poster that appears every so often with an outrageous story about asda.

Its always a case where the staff have 'assaulted' them for suspected shop lifting. Always a dh that wants the police involved.
