I lost my battle against my depression today. The combination of my autism(first time ever said it), dyspraxia, and anxiety caused by the first two made a perfect storm. I was weighing up whether it would be more traumatic for the DC to be motherless or have a self-loathing mother today. I have come to the conclusion that it is probably better for them to have a mother than not and that's keeping me going. And I suspect DH would rather have a wife than not as well.

But it's really really hard right now. People keep talking about Blitz spirit but the difference is that you were still allowed out and when there were air raids, you knew that there would be a point when the all clear would sound.

Feel like we've all been imprisoned without a trial and all been judged guilty of being contaminated. And I am just so tired all the time.

On the subject of murder, DH is going to B and Q tomorrow so I think he will fell thousands for his frivolous desire to buy flooring.

I read a great book about Londoners and their personal experiences. A lot of people grumbled about having to do the blackout when they didn’t give a shit, and a lot of people wouldn’t go to the shelter or even the basement because they’d get rather get bombed out while having a nice cup of tea.

I've heard of these comparisons with the Blitz and it isn't at all useful. As ISay pointed out people weren't permanently trapped in their homes and there was a sense of community because people could physically rely on each other! As it stands we're being treat like children who can't think for themselves and unfortunately the knock on effect is clear on some of the threads on here - many people are doubting their own use of common sense and are suddenly incapable of making their own risk assessment!

Isay definately they need thier mummy. Sometimes my kids have been the only reason i am still here. I couldnt do that to them. Its hard sometimes but they are worth it in my book.
