New thread for those having longer symptoms of Covid.

@Sweetie60 and @SimpleKindofLife so many heart issues now. Similar here and sending best wishes, it's just relentless.

Meercatmama · 29/04/2020 17:50

@SimpleKindofLife
Please don't take it to heart these threads do move very quickly at times.Like @Needsomegoodnews some of what I post is me getting off my chest what is happening to me and others when it is relevant to me,

I also get headaches but mine are not like a migraine more a muzzy type which come and go.
To be honest I have had a crap day today with on and off breathlessness all day with the muzzy headache, nausea, tiredness and what feels like stomach problems brewing. As I said earlier taking it hour by hour sometimes and day by day at others,. At the moment feeling a bit better but waiting for the next wave. Very low today even it I am better than I was a few weeks ago.

Sweetie60 · 29/04/2020 17:56

@Fedupofbed Thank you. I hope your headaches improve.

SimpleKindofLife · 29/04/2020 17:57

Thanks all Thanks

I feel like I'm going back to the start today, i feel so ill and my chest pain and breathing is just as bad as it was 3 weeks ago?! Keep trying to convince myself it's just a temporary dip...

Lying in bed listening to my (ever patient!) DH and my two dc laughing together downstairs. Feel so removed from normal life.

Dorual · 29/04/2020 17:58

Scaring me how people are needing hospital as such a late stage. Will we ever be healthy again?

NotAnotherUserNumber · 29/04/2020 18:11

Just checking in. I think I am on day 53 now and I am fairly sure that I am over the actual infection now. It seemed to last about 7 weeks for me (but I am on the shielding list because I have complex immune problems so was never going to be typical).

I am still feeling generally rubbish and very sleepy (just woke up having been asleep since 2pm), have a residual occasional cough, get out of breath easily, headache and feeling extremes of temperature, but I think the worst of it is all past for me finally and I don’t seem to be having daily fevers anymore.

I do have an earache and some dizziness that has started in the last week or so, but I think this might be an unrelated inner ear issue.

I hope everyone else feels better soon!

EngagedAgain · 29/04/2020 18:22

Luckily I haven't had the virus yet and hopefully won't, but this heart/inflammation business worries me, because I feel I have undiagnosed problems and never feel well anyway. Trying to stay positive but I get the feeling if I get it I'm not going to come out of it well. Sorry for coming onto thread as it's for people who have had the virus. Hope you are all feeling better soon.

Tangledyarn · 29/04/2020 18:32

@engagedagain Try not to worry. I have a lot of underlying conditions and whilst I'm still not well on day 56 ..I'm getting better. I do think a lot of the heart issues are likely very short term symptoms, and everyone who has had tests has been ok, so whilst we might feel quite poorly for sometime as you would expect from a very bad viral infection I'm sure we will recover eventually.

Meercatmama · 29/04/2020 18:42

@engagedagain
I have cardiac spasms which I take medication for and I understand your worries because I have been so scared to. My husband has 33% kidney function high blood pressure etc and we have been ill but we are recovering if slowly. We will all get there eventually.

hollieberrie · 29/04/2020 18:49

Found you all! Must catch up on the thread and how everyone is doing.

Day 48 for me (I think!) and still massively struggling with the labyrinthitis, very very dizzy.
Covid symptoms were present yesterday - burning lungs, feeling of doom! - but better today.. so far.

Crayfishforyou · 29/04/2020 18:59

Day 30.

I feel like I'm back in the first week. My chest feels like one big gaping raw swollen wound, with added stabs every now and again.
Moving about is hard. I'm having chills again, pale again with red cheeks. Pulse is going nuts everytime I stand up. I couldn't sleep last night as I had major muscle spasms before my pulse dropped right down again.
And once again I have been in tears on the phone to DM.
I'm trying to look to the future, that I will get better.
But it's so so hard today

pinkoneblueone · 29/04/2020 19:08

@Moodgie day 52/53 breathing feels off for me today but sats are good between 97/99 for me today, I do feel like my breathing is more difficult hoping it will pass soon though

Moodgie · 29/04/2020 19:12

@pinkoneblueone I am definitely better than I was earlier on. I hope it will get better for you too. So fed up of these waves of this.

alittleprivacy · 29/04/2020 19:17

My tummy isn't great today either @moodgie, but I'm kind of putting it down to the ibuprofen. My right upper back/lung is much sorer today than it has been. I was just washing up a little while ago and it was so bad I almost didn't want to use my right arm.

Egghead68 · 29/04/2020 19:18

@Wildthingsinthenight I am sure it is not deliberate. It’s very hard to keep up with everything on the thread especially as many of us have fatigue and brain fog. It happens to me too but I usually can’t remember I’ve posted! Sorry about your dip.

@maria860 I just meant that there can be different causes for breathlessness (e.g. sometimes it can be secondary to heart problems) and whether an inhaler helps may depend on the cause. Disclaimer: I am not a doctor just a long-term sufferer of breathlessness.

A physiologist friend of mine said that Covid affects epithelial cells in blood vessels or something. Means little to me but I will look into it at some point.

@simplekindoflife and @crayfishforyou so sorry about your dip. They are so disheartening.

godhelpusall · 29/04/2020 19:18

Sorry to hear so many struggling. New antibody test sounds promising

Hi all, just signing in so I can find you easily again!

Day 51. Never thought I’d still be here moaning about how ill I feel. If I rest I occasionally feel more normal but then I get up and do something - anything - and am utterly wiped out. I can’t see much improvement in that at all over the last couple of weeks. I’m fed up with feeling like shit and my heart is all over the place. Don’t tell me it’s anxiety either; I know what that feels like and I was not anxious before this (although I concede that this virus is a mental struggle to cope with too). Also I’ve been ill before with long term illnesses and I don’t think they’ve ever been this bad to get through. Yes they’ve been long drawn out (I had an ME diagnosis in my 20s and that took 6 months before I could go for a walk outside) but the up and down relapsing nature of this is entirely new.

Was thinking two months but I’m almost there now so I’m going to have to tell myself hopefully by 3 I’ll feel a bit better. If it takes 6, it takes 6. My niggling worry is that this is my life now. The trouble is, no one knows. The doctors don’t. I started the fever on 10th March so there aren’t that many people ahead of me. This is one of the difficult things about it. I just have to go with what it presents me with.

@NotAnotherUserNumber weirdly I’ve had earache for the last couple of days in one ear. I thought it might be related to the throat, and also I’ve had some wax build up in the past so I thought it might be that. But it’s certainly another annoyance to add into the mix!

emoojoo · 29/04/2020 20:04

@wildthingsinthenight hello I've just been catching up on the thread (day 39ish) and saw your post re migraines. Yes I've had lots since I had this virus. I usually get several in my monthly cycle (peri menopausal) but have had them much more often since I've been ill

SimpleKindofLife · 29/04/2020 20:04

@musicposy that's a ridiculously long time, so sorry to hear that. What are your main symptoms now?

OP posts:
SimpleKindofLife · 29/04/2020 20:08

My DH has found my old Fitbit! Going to use it to track my heart rate.

@Meercatmama and
@Tangledyarn
Thank you both for your encouragement, very much appreciated. Best wishes

@maria860 breathlessness/shortness of breath can also be a sign of iron deficiency anaemia which is common in pregnancy. Ask your GP or MW to prescribe you some iron tablets (or you can buy it from a pharmacy) avoid caffeine as it stops your body from absorbing iron and start eating more iron rich foods.

pinkoneblueone · 29/04/2020 20:32

@maria860 I get migraines it's usually related to my sinuses with this I have pressure in my head and around my eyes. I think I notice this more on high pollen days thankfully I don't have it today but had it yesterday

LetsBeSensible · 29/04/2020 21:07

Day 43 was a good day...felt energised and did a bit of cooking prep.
Having a rest now watching the C4 prog “what’s it like to have corona”

pinkoneblueone · 29/04/2020 21:37

@Moodgie my breathing has eased since I took omeprozole a couple of hours ago but I have just had this numbness wash over me almost starting with my nose, roof of my mouth chest and throat. It's bizarre. I have just taken my second dose of ibuprofen for the day as it really is easing the pain with paracetamol.
