@Dorual

You might find this article interesting :)

fedupofbed · 05/05/2020 16:06

@mumlurker omeprazole really helped me too, along with Gaviscon.

MillStone · 05/05/2020 16:10

@longshot

Thanks for the reply and info.

A few weeks ago when I first spoke with my GP about heart noticeable issues (week 4 I think), they too mentioned it could be in part down to such a change in exercise routine.

I've noticed from your previous posts that too you were highly active prior to this.

It's Interesting - or coincidental - that there are a notable amount of highly active individuals here with very similar symptoms and timelines. Possibly time will tell.

Truzza · 05/05/2020 16:18

I find the strange periods issues very interesting
As when I had all of these covid symptoms in January!!?? I got two periods 2 weeks apart.... which I've never experienced in my life. I'm 48

But in January I had no idea just how bad this was! Looking back it was very close to it all going very badly! I nearly crashed the car because I was coughing so much I had to stop and get out just to catch my breath/cough standing up and was nearly sick 😱

stayathomegardener · 05/05/2020 16:47

@mumlurker I'm still struggling with the acid indigestion on day 52. Had it all the way through.

Trialing chicken bone broth, mastic gum and slippery elm powder for a month as want to heal the problem not mask it.

I'm only five days in, it's marginally better and certainly no worse but expect improvements to be accumulative.

Rosesofeyam · 05/05/2020 16:52

Day 48
Still have SOB,chesty again,palpitations,chest pain,lungs feel tight,headache (mornings) and GERD. I have a sore spot in one nostril and a few raised spots on hand and feet. Confused

Today has been okay. I've even made a lasagne and did laundry. Star
I have to do one job, rest then start another. It did take me two hours to make the lasagne.
I'm just pleased I completed what I set out to do. Grin

stayathomegardener · 05/05/2020 16:58

As this thread is filling up could I suggest a new title of just "50+"

I've just checked and lungs 7 is still going for anyone in the early stages.

And a link please. I got very lost last time. Smile

Hopefully the next 1,000 posts will see many of us posting more positive recovery stories.

Dorual · 05/05/2020 17:01

Thanks @JackJackIncredible

I don't know. I'm gutted really. I was hoping I'd had it. I must have had a regular chest infection. And now am wearing a mask around the house because I was in the covid unit in saturday being treated by nurses who treat covid patients. And my dh is in the very vulnerable group. T1 diabetic and ckd. Argghhh. I've had a 2 day headache and 37.8 temp. Spiked to 38 but I think the mask is warming me up. Sinus pain and sore throat too. Maybe it's hayfever. Sad

mumlurker · 05/05/2020 17:01

@stayathomegardener

I was just thinking, I wonder if reflux is here to stay. If so I don't want to be stuck masking it as you say - what's your regime with the more natural approach? How are you doing at this stage?

mumlurker · 05/05/2020 17:02

On my period the last two days and i feel.absolitely rotten. Headache that won't shift, palpitations, slightly clammy and can't get out of bed fatigued. Wonder if there is a correlation as others have mentioned - sort of hoping it explains why I feel so bad in a way. Not had a headache like this since week three

Crayfishforyou · 05/05/2020 17:06

@mumlurker
Mine had me into A&E. I was so dizzy when I stood up and my pulse was 150 lying on the floor. I couldn't stop shaking either, it was really hot and I was freezing.
Brain went into some very dark places too

mumlurker · 05/05/2020 17:09

@Crayfishforyou

Ugh sounds terrifying. I've really been struggling last few days with the feeling that I will never ever get better. It seems like you're a little better now though?

Crayfishforyou · 05/05/2020 17:12

I am getting better. I am still symptomatic, still unable to be normal but I can tell underneath that I am getting stronger, and I am hanging onto that if I have another dip.

mumlurker · 05/05/2020 17:15

Yes. Holding onto the idea that this is just a dip is getting me through. Interestingly I spoke to my gp today and she said she couldn't rule out me still being infectious at day 54 because I'm still stmptomatic

Rosesofeyam · 05/05/2020 17:23

mumlurker That was me over the weekend. Felt really ill and fluey. My period has been light,but it was only 19 days after the last one.

Egghead68 · 05/05/2020 17:27

@Dorual I wouldn’t assume you haven’t had it. Your symptoms sound like everyone else’s on here. I think NHS antibody tests are due to be available in a few weeks - maybe try one of those too.

user34254356 · 05/05/2020 17:37

@mumlurker week 7 here and i also have chest pains which have returned and palpitations too. I haven't even gone to an A and E to have caught covid again! I am so frustrated ....i don't even talk in terms of days but weeks now.

Moodgie · 05/05/2020 17:41

@mumlurker I had a test (not the antibody one) and it came back negative. The text message you get says to contact your employer about going back to work. I am still symptomatic though, but as it came negative, it makes sense that we are not infectious any more.

Porcupineinwaiting · 05/05/2020 18:39

I also had a major dip just before my last period. Have another 10 -whatever days before the next one is due (perimenopause) so hoping I make sig strides in recovery before then so next dip not so bad.

Meercatmama · 05/05/2020 18:40

Hi re the dip at day 48 /49 I had that over the weekend and ended back in bed. Since Sunday afternoon I have felt better, I have been for a walk, worked from home and just did a massive shop at Tescos as my home delivery I thought I booked is for next week( Brain freeze when ill) Loaded and unloaded the car with Tescos stuff and rinsed if off before it coming in the house and put it away. I have a small sore throat and feel tired but at this point I am ok. Now treating myself to a small glass of wine. I am back to work at the school for 3 hours tomorrow afternoon and have a virtual staff meeting afterwards so I will see how I feel in the morning. I am on day 51

mumlurker · 05/05/2020 18:45

@Moodgie

Yeah I have a hard time believing I'm still infectious - as hellish as they are, it does seem that most of our symptoms are post-viral. Not that I'm in much condition to be going out and about.

Wearywinnie · 05/05/2020 18:51

So glad to find this thread. I am day 44 today and had two good days over the weekend and then ..... boom the shortness of breath and chest tightness is back. I am trying to pace myself and doing a bit of work from home, have a short walk etc but inevitably it wears me out. I had found it impossible finding information about the length of recovery so am so grateful to have found you all, although of course wish we weren’t here!

emoojoo · 05/05/2020 18:51

@Meercatmama that's good news and really promising to hear!

Tangledyarn · 05/05/2020 18:57

GP didn't call me sigh I guess I'll have to call again tomorrow!:

Moodgie · 05/05/2020 19:06

@mumlurker I walked to the doctors for blood tests this morning and back. Didn’t feel great afterwards, really fatigued and like a cold coming. Now better, but still tired and breathing not quite normal. I really really do hope it is all post viral recovery and repair process.
