New thread for those having longer symptoms of Covid.

OP posts:
Meercatmama · 29/04/2020 14:42

Thanks for the new thread
Having lots of breathless episodes today mot major just as I am sitting here the need to breath a little deeper like I am almost missing a breath. Then it goes for a while Minor back ache and a headache It started on the left side and has now moved to the right. In between I feel tired and I am not at all hungry but ok. Really conscious of my breathing today. Occasionally a bit dizzy but I have been able to manage some work for school today

NewMeNew · 29/04/2020 14:44

I'm day 40 something with breathlessness, chest pain, heart thumping, sore ribs, sore back, headaches & tinnitus, but I can manage to put vests & tops on now without wincing with chest pain.

And I can manage the stairs most days without sitting down half way,

A NHS nurse & my G.P suspect viral pneumonia now as antibiotics didnt help when we thought it could be bacterial pneumonia. I have been told to expect to feel 100% in 3-6 months.

I have started on Ibroprufen today and managwd a shower after lunch, having had 3 days on the sofa.

Dorual · 29/04/2020 14:44

Also, the vagal nerve is a nerve runs through both gastric and cardiac systems. Google vagal dysfunction.

longshot · 29/04/2020 14:47

Thanks @dorual I will have a look!

Dorual · 29/04/2020 14:54

@longshot let us know what your report says too please :)

Dorual · 29/04/2020 14:59

There are muscles everywhere too. My muscles between my ribs are sore and keep twitching when touched. Coukd the muscles or nerves by hyperexcitable? Too many things!

wildthingsinthenight · 29/04/2020 15:08

I am day 48 now. No energy still. Random high temp every fews days just for a couple of hours. Has anyone had really nasty migraine like headaches with visual disturbances? I've had 3 in the last week

Lightsabre · 29/04/2020 15:21

.

WanderingLost167 · 29/04/2020 15:51

Anyone else prescribed doxycycline for chest infection?

I've been having weird temperature changes, flushed face, headaches and aches. Not sure if it's the Covid still or just antibiotic side effects!

Meercatmama · 29/04/2020 15:59

Had doxycycline on day 21 for 7 days. I was and I am still getting the occasional temperature changes so I think it was the covid not the antibiotic

Moodgie · 29/04/2020 16:00

Stressed today and wondering if anyone is similar to me at this stage: sore throat, morning runny tummy and nausea, lower tummy pain, waves of total exhaustion, more laboured breathing which I think comes with the exhaustion bit. Sats and temperature fine.

MillStone · 29/04/2020 16:11

@longshot

I can't thank you enough for the info you posted about Myocarditis.

I'm a couple of weeks behind you and still suffering with SOB but I'm experiencing the post viral problems and ALL of the heart issues you mentioned. I could have written your list word for word.

I too went for tests at the Hospital regarding my heart. The Dr from 111 who referred me said swelling would only show up on a scan ... but I too only had an ecg, bloods and xray. I wish I'd pushed for an ultrasound.

I'm 38, runner, cyclist, very healthy eater / lifestyle.

Thanks for the info it's so useful to be aware of it as a complication.

mumlurker · 29/04/2020 16:12

@moodgie

I hadn't experienced breathlessness for weeks (it was awful in maybe weeks 2 and 3) but it seems to have returned in a mild form in the last few days. I've noticed I get it around lunchtime, which is also when I feel most tired during the day (I've taken to napping when I can most afternoons) and before bed. I didn't link it to tiredness before, but that would make sense. I also have a sore throat which lessens as the day goes on but for the past few days, feeling of constriction in throat which I know can be either stress or inflammation related. Getting painful bloating at some point most days too. I'm day 47 I believe.

Starrynightsabove · 29/04/2020 16:13

Yes @Dorual it would. And it would show in the ECG and the X Ray too. Which is why it’s highly doubtful a proper doctor would diagnose myocarditis over the phone when all the tests have shown it’s not. It just doesn’t make sense.

Plus if they thought it really was they’d have referred on or told to go back to hospital as you don’t just ignore myocarditis and hope it goes away. It needs to be carefully monitored.

Starrynightsabove · 29/04/2020 16:14

See now everyone is panicking. Myocarditis does show up on XRay, Bloods and ECG. In fact the NHS page doesn’t even mention MRI.

So all of you who have had their heart checked. You are fine.

Egghead68 · 29/04/2020 16:15

Can’t remember what day you are on Moodgie but those all sound familiar to me apart from the nausea (though I am mainly experiencing only mild symptoms now at day 39/49).

Egghead68 · 29/04/2020 16:15

39/40

mumlurker · 29/04/2020 16:15

@Moodgie

My stomach was such a mess a few weeks ago I called my GP and was prescribed medication for the runs/cramps/other weird bowl movements (and lots of blood!!!)...she said IBS could be a post-viral thing and would resolve as inflammation in my body went down.

Dorual · 29/04/2020 16:25

My breathlessness is worse when bloated/constipated

Egghead68 · 29/04/2020 16:26

What are people doing to try to reduce inflammation?

I doubled my turmeric intake at the start of this and doubled one of my inhalers (anti-inflammatory) for a while. I don’t know what else to try. I already eat lots of fruit and vegetables and I am scared to exercise or use ibuprofen.

mumlurker · 29/04/2020 16:34

@Egghead68

I already had a diet rich in anti-inflammatories so in the same boat as you. I've been drinking tumeric in warm milk and drinking matcha tea. Also ordered aloe vera juice and tumeric pills (I can't keep drinking these disgusting tumeric lattes forever) and keeping an eye on my diet. I probably drink too much coffee though...

wildthingsinthenight · 29/04/2020 16:34

Wandering I had doxycycline. It gave me terrible nausea and stomach cramps but not temp changes. Most likely still the covid.
So has anyone had migraines?

MillStone · 29/04/2020 16:35

@Egghead68

I'm eating LOADS of berries and cherries, oranges, Loads of ginger, avocado.

Must get some tumeric.

wildthingsinthenight · 29/04/2020 16:36

I have been horizontal most of the day today. Just exhausted

Moodgie · 29/04/2020 16:37

@mumlurker Thank you. I have a history of IBS type issues so maybe that is the case that it triggered it.
I am about day 55/38.
@egghead What are your symptoms now?
I am taking turmeric too. Nuts and fruit mainly. Looked up anti-inflammatory food and try to eat these as much as my shopping deivwries allow.
