New thread for those having longer symptoms of Covid.

OP posts:
Moodgie · 30/04/2020 15:32

Just got my test result - negative.

notangelinajolie · 30/04/2020 15:33

@SimpleKindofLife @JackJackIncredible

Yes I will definitely be asking tomorrow while I've the chance. I've tried to call GP twice for CV advice and never got past receptionist and told to ring 111. They won't give telephone appointments for CV advice.

No I did nothing much different @longshot apart from starting to wear a bra again Grin and doing a bit more round the house. I haven't done any exercise or any thing like that - furthest I've been is the back garden to inspect DHs greenhouse.

godhelpusall · 30/04/2020 15:34

@Moodgie was that the CV test? Not the antibodies one? Were you surprised ?

user34254356 · 30/04/2020 15:35

@Moodgie what test did you do?

Moodgie · 30/04/2020 15:41

@godhelpusall @user34254356 It was the throat and nose swab one.
Not surprised really as I am day 39/56. Relieved though as you can never know with this.
I am hoping now that all of this is post-viral / residue inflammation (someone mentioned it today - I am not sure how it works) / healing process.

fedupofbed · 30/04/2020 15:42

@notangelinajolie have you tried 111 recently? Everything seems to have calmed down a bit now and I get the impression that there's more of a normal service. I phoned a couple of days ago and spoke to someone within a few minutes who was very helpful.

I'm amazed at some of the GP stories here, there seems to be such a difference in the support people are getting.

SimpleKindofLife · 30/04/2020 15:48

@Moodgie was it the Covid test? The virus has (most likely) gone now, so you're probably not contagious, this is post viral/inflammation.

You still need to take it easy and I assume/hope we are over the worst now. Just R&R Thanks

Thanks for your reply @toothfairy73

It's good they ruled out a blood clot.

I had a high white cell count and a positive D-Dimmer so was given blood thinning injections in hospital for several days but nothing to take at home as CT scan didn't show a pulmonary embolism. However I'm still concerned about blood clots being an issue now after reading reports of Covid causing many small clots even after discharge. (I'm day 63 with pleuritic pain, shortness of breath and vertigo that suddenly reappeared on day 53 after feeling totally fine for 20 days)

Anyone else have a positive D-dimmer but clot not found and still worried?

Moodgie · 30/04/2020 16:09

@SimpleKindofLife Yes, the NHS Covid test.

toothfairy73 · 30/04/2020 16:10

@CanIdoItLater as much as the blood test didn’t show a clot that Is why they are doing the CT scan

toothfairy73 · 30/04/2020 16:13

Why does this post keep disappearing? Does anyone know how to report this problem? I’ve book marked it, I’ve clicked watch but it’s just not there, can’t search for it on the app either only online. Really really strange

SimpleKindofLife · 30/04/2020 16:19

@toothfairy73 I don't know, shows up fine for me?

Has anyone has a constricted throat appearing quite late on? Feels like it's hard to swallow on one side, sort of numb feeling rather than pain/swollen glad feeling. Slight numbness/tingling in my mouth on same side too. Any ideas what causes it or how to alleviate it?

Egghead68 · 30/04/2020 16:27

@mumlurker my sister had that and said antihistamines helped.

mumlurker · 30/04/2020 16:29

@Egghead68

Oh good call, I'll give that a go. It's really not helping my sense of breathlessness!

WorriesomeDad · 30/04/2020 16:31

For anyone (like me) who’s terrified at the possibility that Covid is a chronic infection that we will never quite recover from, this news is a very very big deal (for us and humanity in general too!).

In the films it’s America that saves the world. At the moment it’s South Korea that seems to have it covered. Hope everyone’s having a good day.

godhelpusall · 30/04/2020 16:32

Getting a weird hot feeling in back of leg. Not hot to touch but suddenly feels hot. Weird! Any ideas? Another post viral trickery? Also headache a bit dizzy and nauseous although could be migraine as headache one sided.

LordOftheRingz · 30/04/2020 16:32

@mumlurker I have had this for over two months, I also used anti histamines and it helped, I also used gaviscon. Mine came back last night. Im having a UTI right now, ive only has two in my life before now and I am an age old, just started anti bionics.

Meercatmama · 30/04/2020 16:40

I have had the muzzy head one sided, and nausea and felt a bit dizzy yesterday and this morning. I was also breathless in the sense of almost missing a breath. Today been reasonable with a little tightening and breathlessness but I feel tired Headache and nausea gone but not really hungry

SimpleKindofLife · 30/04/2020 16:43

Is it swollen at all @godhelpusall?

OP posts:
SimpleKindofLife · 30/04/2020 16:44

My chest is fizzy and juddery today, along with stabbing pains and the never ending breathlessness...

OP posts:
SimpleKindofLife · 30/04/2020 16:45

The link won't open for me @WorriesomeDad

Are you having a better day after your dip?

OP posts:
godhelpusall · 30/04/2020 16:51

No @SimpleKindofLife feels the same as the other

Moodgie · 30/04/2020 16:53

@WorriesomeDad This is a really positive read. Thank you. @SimpleKindofLife It opened for me eventually, keep trying.
And yes, how are you @WorriesomeDad?

Gunner30 · 30/04/2020 16:54

Hi all, that article is really positive @WorriesomeDad and glad you found the thread. Day 47 and still feeling ok. I couldn't go running or do too much, but managed a full day wfh, which feels like another milestone. My throat is still swollen (sound like a broken record), but on a positive my gp said that the chest x-ray showed my lungs were clear and the bloods we're all clear for glandular fever and infection signs , so he's has asked me to continue with the ppi acid reflux medication for a week to see if that helps, otherwise I need a further investigation. Really don't fancy an endoscope down my throat, but he's at a loss to know what else it could be. Sorry quite a few are having bad days but the gp did acknowledge some symptoms do seem to take a long time to clear after the virus has gone, so it could just take time and rest to get over this :-(
