New thread for those having longer symptoms of Covid.

OP posts:
fedupofbed · 30/04/2020 13:57

@Egghead68 you sound like you're struggling today. I'm so sorry 💐

Egghead68 · 30/04/2020 13:59

Thanks @fedupofbed. Sorry for my moan. Such severe sinusitis pain that nothing will shift (may not even be covid/post-covid but probably is). Hope you are doing OK and sorry if not Flowers

Egghead68 · 30/04/2020 14:01

The link is very positive news - thank you. I hope it is right.

Meercatmama · 30/04/2020 14:08

@Egghead68 So sorry to hear you are struggling.

I felt like that yesterday and got up today and felt a bit bette. Its just so up and down

Linus1972 · 30/04/2020 14:10

@Needsomegoodnews I agree that it's likely a lot of the mysterious pain we're all feeling is due to imflammation (and also explains why some of us have had nothing show up when we've had hospital tests). I've been using Voltarol gel (ibuprofen) on my chest since Monday night and it's reduced the intensity and frequency of the pain I was getting (although I've also reduced activity so it could be due to that).

@Moodgie did you take probiotics? I started with stomach trouble towards the end of my course of antibiotics (Friday night) and am now taking probiotics. Stomach symptoms improved last night, although again, could just the passage of time or something else unrelated.

SimpleKindofLife · 30/04/2020 14:16

@Egghead68 I had a super shit day yesterday/night, I haven't moved from my bed today, apart from toilet breaks. I'm exhausted. Better days coming soon Thanks

OP posts:
Moodgie · 30/04/2020 14:17

@Linus1972 Yea, taking biokult. Stopped the antibiotic about 4 weeks ago now though, so I don’t actually think it is related.

fedupofbed · 30/04/2020 14:23

Please don't apologise @Egghead68 we need to be able to let off steam, and I'm so sorry that you're in such pain. It's relentless.

I'm going to have a moan now too if that's okay. Still unable to move from bed, feeling much more breathless again, fatigue, nausea and palpitations. For the past few days I've tended to perk up about 4pm and really hope so today, then I can shower and eat properly. I guess I'm feeling particularly down as I feel like I'm getting worse, and it's been 8 days since my last 'improvement' day. It's hard not to worry, especially with the breathlessness.

Still, good news from Korea. I'm wondering if this changes any possible treatment options, such as steroids that can damp down the immune response? Also I've been superstitiously avoiding ibuprofen, which must be safe by now right?

I've finally ordered my turmeric capsules and just looking into anything else that might help. @Crayfishforyou was it you taking CBD oil (apologies if not, foggy brain)? Sounds like it's going well... did you find any particularly useful research, or just thought you'd give it a try?

fedupofbed · 30/04/2020 14:24

@SimpleKindofLife posted before I saw your post, sorry you're having a crap day too.

SimpleKindofLife · 30/04/2020 14:26

Sorry to hear that @fedupofbed looks like a lot of us are suffering.

I've just told work I need another week off, it's getting awkward! They're lovely about it but must be wondering what's going on...

Oh yes, turmeric! (Goes off to spend even more money on supplements...)

OP posts:
Lightsabre · 30/04/2020 14:28

@toothfairy73, glad you are finally getting some care. I'm 5 weeks too and very breathless and thinking of presenting at hospital today (are you at the Pr A? I was thinking of going there. My cv test on Saturday came back negative. Just awaiting a GP call but think I'll be fobbed off.

Egghead68 · 30/04/2020 14:29

Thanks everyone and sorry to everyone who’s suffering.

Just tried eating something to see whether it would help. It did’t. I couldn’t taste it and now I have acid reflux and it feels like my stomach is pressing on my lungs. Ok - end of moan for today. Work to do.

Crayfishforyou · 30/04/2020 14:29

@fedupofbed my research consisted of googling from bed in the midst of a Doom attack and chest pain.
Several pages mentioned anti inflammatory properties, pain relief and anxiety help.
Twas good enough for me!

It's certainly helped with the insomnia. But so has sleeping propped up with little pressure on my rib cage.

notangelinajolie · 30/04/2020 14:34

I was on the very first lungs thread and a few others after that. I really thought everyone from the early threads would have left long ago but it seems not.

Day God only knows? But the same as @longshot. Hope you find out what's wrong soon - from my non medical background it does sound that CV has left something nasty behind.

I'm back after a relatively okish 2 weeks. Not 100% better though, I have felt very tired, with little energy and one of my ears was blocked for weeks (post virus I guess).

On Monday the breathless chest pain back ache started again so I checked my temperature and it was 38.6, my sats we're 91 and my pulse was hitting 100. And literally every muscle in my body ached. I was like nooooooo please not again Sad

I have no idea what the hell is going on.
So I thought I'd pop back in here to see if anyone is in the same boat and I see they are.

I put my fatigue down to GP refusing to give me my B12 jab. I don't know if it will help anyone on here who can't get their jab but I did a bit of digging and the BSH and PAS had a meeting and guidance for GPs has changed. It says jabs should be given yay!!! I spoke to my GP yesterday and at her request I sent her a link to the new guidance and to my great relief I now been able to book an appointment for the jab tomorrow.

If anyone wants the link to the new guidelines I can post it here?

I'm hoping my symptoms are more to do with B12 deficiency rather than CV coming back again
High temperature, sats and pulse are a worry but fatigue and breathless bit could be B12 deficiency. I'll find out soon.

Part of me thinks CV is probably still clinging on but too late for the test to prove it. If I don't feel better within the next few days I'm going to push for GP to refer me to someone because breathless and chest pain are not good.

Apologies for the rambling post. Take care everyone

toothfairy73 · 30/04/2020 14:35

@Lightsabre at the Pr A?

toothfairy73 · 30/04/2020 14:37

Local is PRUH

fedupofbed · 30/04/2020 14:37

Thank you @Crayfishforyou ha yes I'm doing lots of googling from my bed in the midst of doom! Trouble is my brain cells are a bit all over the place too.

Off to google CBD oil and probiotics...

fedupofbed · 30/04/2020 14:42

@notangelinajolie I'm really sorry, especially after 2 weeks of doing okay, so cruel. Hope the injection helps. I know how worrying the breathlessness is 💐

Lightsabre · 30/04/2020 14:47

@toothfairy73, thanks, sorry meant Pr Royal.

JackJackIncredible · 30/04/2020 14:50

@notangelinajolie

With that temp and sats, I think you need to be seen by a doctor to check for secondary bacterial infection.

CanIdoItLater · 30/04/2020 14:50

@toothfairy73 hope you get some answers soon. Can I ask if you've had blood tests whilst in hospital and have you had all the results yet?

SimpleKindofLife · 30/04/2020 14:54

@notangelinajolie sorry to hear that, the dips are horrible, scary and so disheartening.

Hope the injection helps. Agree, maybe antibiotics might help clear any other infections going on?

OP posts:
longshot · 30/04/2020 15:07

@notangelinajolie hello again! I’ve also been sort of intermittently a bit better then worse again. I’ve properly got chest ache and pain sometimes though so not been doing much. In myself I feel a lot better than I did other than fatigue and these pains.

Can I ask did you do anything specific before you started to feel particularly worse again? Eg more exercise/something stressful happen?

notangelinajolie · 30/04/2020 15:10

Thanks @fedupofbed hope you feel better soon. CBD sounds good but I'm not sure it will help your brain cells.
Being breathless is such a bugger.

I very worried about a clot on my lungs in the early weeks because I have a history of DVT and take blood thinners to prevent them. The week before lockdown they changed my medication so it was a real concern.
I tried 111 over the course of 2 days and just couldn't get through. I wasn't blue in the face or gasping for air so I gave up and went to bed. I'm still here but in hindsight I should have gone to a&e and maybe they would have tested me. Or maybe not.

toothfairy73 · 30/04/2020 15:11

@CanIdoItLater yes I've had blood tests done. I had to have the usual plus an extra gas one (where they took it from the artery on the wrist; it was SO painful.

The blood test showed my white count was 22 (should be 10). They did a d-diamer to test for blood clots and this was clear too
