Just stayed up to try and get a Tesco slot

So was on the app and website using phone and iPad at 11.45 before there was a queue. At some point soon after the page went to a “youre in a queue don’t close the page “ message.

Got onto the website at 12:08.

All slots gone for both home delivery and click and collect. Which because of where I’m located are actually 2 different stores. I click and collect at my nearest one but if I have a delivery it comes from a store slightly further away.

I couldn’t have got in the queue any quicker! Is it just Impossible?

I just booked one for next week. They don’t always release at midnight

They let you book one at a time so once you have booked one all the other slots show as unavailable.

They've just released a load of slots in my area this morning. Managed to get one for my parents. Might be worth checking now....?

Inspired by this thread I just logged into Sainsbury's as I did randomly for them and Tesco and there's kids of delivery slots for Sunday so nabbed one!

I prefer Sainsbury's vastly over Tesco- so can now cancel by Tesco click and collect for Saturday- unless OP is in Worcester and wants it?!

I’ve been getting Tesco slots about 7am no problem.

OP don't forget that the availability of slots will be for your local delivery depot. So it's no use me or anyone else saying "oh there are loads of slots" etc because that will be for OUR local depot, and not yours.

We often have to try a few nights in a row before managing to get a slot, but it is possible if you keep trying (Tesco, at midnight).

Just thought I would say, off the back of this thread, I just logged in, and there were suddenly loads of spaces for next week, not seen that for months, so I booked one. Not sure if it is a glitch in the matrix or they've opened more... needless to say they've all gone now...

I can't get a delivery slot with Sainsbury's here as they're all reserved for vulnerable people. Possibly the demographics where I live?

If you live in South Ribble, Lancashire, there are available delivery slots at Tesco right now.

I just tried at 8am and had a choice of loads of slots. All gone now though. Got my 80 items ordered.

I've messaged my sister every time I go on and see slots they last three times, she has managed to get one too each time and she lives 300 km away from me so definitely not sharing a depot.

I like Sainsbury's new way of displaying click and collect slots because you can easily scroll through hundreds of stores quickly which not only shows the closest one with availability, but how often they change. At one point yesterday the nearest available click and collect to us was 54 miles away. An hour later two stores under 15 miles had availability and for both it was two full days that were open. One of those still had availability 2 hours later. I believe most stores aren’t releasing everything at one time - and the best strategy is to just keep checking.

I just booked a Tesco slot, seems to have been released recently, and many available, as I also checked late last night.

Staying up til midnight constantly refreshing the page has been playing havoc with my sleep (but at least I don't have a commute to work these days!)

I agree it does depend on where you are. Our Tesco shopping comes from a purpose built warehouse that only does delivers. Consequently, it covers a huge area and it's really difficultto get slots there at the moment - it's taken us six nights of queuing from 11:45pm, to get our next slot. My DC who lives 15 miles away and whose tesco delivery comes from a local store, still has to queue, but has always secured a slot on his first attempt. The upside for us is that most of our shoppiyarrives with few substitutions, whereas he has had up to half his list unavailable or subbed. But since he can pretty much guarantee a slot every week, it's not such a big deal for him.
As regards Asda, BIL has found it almost impossible to get slots at his local store, despite being on the most vulnerable list, whereas our, much smaller, local store does seem to have slots available.

I logged on at 8am, loads of slots available (no 80 item limit either). I’ve booked one for next Thursday. I honestly don’t think staying up till midnight increases your chances. I just check randomly 3 or 4 times a day and I always get one within a few days. The last time I got one I had logged in at 3pm and again lots available at that point. It’s just luck.

I’ve got Asda just now too for a week’s time.

I had luck last night. Was happily adding things to my basket at about 11.50pm then it kicked me out and told me I was in a queue.
Let me back in at 2 mins past midnight and got my slot.
I've been trying for about a month to get a slot. Good luck.

Ive managed to get 2 Asda slots in the last month by just randomly going on the site throughout the day.

Some days seem better than others. I've had nights where I can't get one, and others where I've had a choice of multiple times, all click and collect mind. Keep trying.

Does anyone know when Waitrose delivery slots are released? An elderly friend wants one. On Wednesday I looked for a slot for the next potential available day - checking once an hour until midnight - nothing was released. Thursday morning I checked at 06.15 and all the slots for the day I had been looking at had all gone.
Do they release them in the middle of the night?

My friend just text me and told me theres loads for where we live on there now. I checked and there is.

I find that weekend nights are difficult, but on weekdays I've had no issues booking a Tesco delivery. I get in the queue at 23.50, queue for about ten minutes and usually there are plenty of slots. It might depend on where you live though.

I've also noticed that they release next day slots at 5pm so also worth checking. Iceland are also easy to get slots with. I haven't used them myself but had a look when I was desperate and could easily get a slot for the following day (cancelled later on as got a Tesco one).

I tried for a week at 12.45 to get a Tesco slot. Every night same.
Eventually I got on but all click and collect were gone yet home delivery available, which I thought odd as we wanted a click and collect to save home delivery for others.
