A thread for people with CV19 symptoms that have lasted for more than a couple of weeks.

First thread here

(Called 40+ to keep a rough tab on when the first symptoms started being reported on MN).

OP posts:

@Dorual I find laying on my tummy helps massively too! As long as I haven't just eaten though Envy

I know, I know! What was I thinking honestly. Daily Mail is the worse one of them all! I deleted the app and reinstalled it but it is just utterly shocking more than ever :(

That's just lovely! It helps to take our mind off things doesn't it? Glad you enjoyed x

TheWooisStrong · 15/04/2020 21:46

Urgh. Overdid it today.

Joe Wicks PE this morning. Fair bit of housework. 40min walk chasing the children on their scooters. I’m now in bed feeling yuck, also having some palpitations. Cough feels more raw than it did this morning.

It’s just so boring being ill, I want to be back to myself.

TheWooisStrong · 15/04/2020 21:49

One thing I have started taking is CBD oil. Used (since pre-Covid) to help me sleep and to manage slight anxiety.

TheWooisStrong · 15/04/2020 21:52

Finally - I’ve also bought a lung exerciser. (Spirometer) I strongly believe that our bodies have cleared the virus, and what we are dealing with is the post-viral fatigue and rehabilitation from Covid.
Normal pneumonia can take 6months to get better from.

pinkoneblueone · 15/04/2020 22:00

What day are you on? @thewooisstrong

OneDayAtATime123 · 15/04/2020 22:01

@TheDrsWife46
I hope you feel better. This article tries to explain some of it
www.today.com/health/do-coronavirus-symptoms-include-fizzing-tingling-or-burning-sensation-t178475

OneDayAtATime123 · 15/04/2020 22:06

@TheDrsWife46
This message from the
article should be reassuring. But please speak to a GP

"If someone had a confirmed case of COVID-19, the presence of such symptoms wouldn’t be much of a factor in how bad the infection might be and what the chances of recovering were, Gran noted."

TheDrsWife46 · 15/04/2020 22:13

@OneDayAtATime123 thankyou for that article its similiar to another I read, im not sure if I posted it or not @EMichel102 would be interested in that too as we were both concerned that our symptoms are now lingering as neurological rather than respiratory.

TheDrsWife46 · 15/04/2020 22:17

Thank you to all for encouragement on eating. Im finding food really difficult because my throat is already feeling closed. Ive had a lot of kidney pain and so i used rehydration sachet and drank drank drank and managed about 100g of rice and two apples. Im going to try to focus on smoothies and soups, to get nutrients in without the pressure of swallowing bulk. I can reintroduce all that again later when im well. If im well Confused

Tangledyarn · 15/04/2020 22:32

Definitely makes sense that the buzzing/internal shaking for me is part of my immune system being in overdrive. It's also worse when other symptoms like chest pain and sore throat and feeling more generally unwell are at their worst for me.

Egghead68 · 15/04/2020 22:39

Hope you have a better night @TheDrsWife46 and everyone else.

TheDrsWife46 · 15/04/2020 22:41

@Egghead68 Im scared to go to bed today. I cant face a repeat of last night. I think i may sleep on the sofa to reduce the pressure to be asleep

Egghead68 · 15/04/2020 22:48

@TheLadyAnneNeville I agree the lack of testing is really poor.

I understand that doctors think if you got symptoms of COVID-19 outside of flu season then it probably was COVID-19.

I agree with a previous poster that the symptoms and time-course have been quite unlike anything I’ve experienced before so I kind-of know I have got it (plus I had known contact with other very probable cases at work (NHS)).

Moodgie · 15/04/2020 22:50

Hope everyone has a good night tonight. Sending love to everyone.

Egghead68 · 15/04/2020 22:52

@TheDrsWife46 I am not surprised you are scared. If sleeping on the sofa helps then that sounds good. I find podcasts can help sometimes too. Wishing you a comfortable and restful night.

eyebrowsofinstagram · 15/04/2020 22:58

Hi there I've had quite a bad day today after a good day yesterday.

I'm day 24/25 I think.

Bad chills all day then terrible loss of breath. I was alone and wondered if I should call 999 but was too fearful of everything. Then wondered if I should ask my ex to drive me to A&E (45 mins away).

Then after an hour of fretting it kind of eased off. Still scared obviously. And have had shaky legs since.

I'd signed myself off work until Monday but think there's no chance I'll be over this by then.

TheDrsWife46 · 15/04/2020 23:08

@eyebrowsofinstagram do you have an oximeter? Its a godsend for those moments as you have an actual figure to work with to help you decide.

@Egghead68 and @TheLadyAnneNeville totally agree on the testing but you made me think about how earlier in the threads I was desperate to know if i had got it with a test. Now I KNOW Ive had it even without a test. Theres not a doubt in my mind. Nothing else could have made me this ill, in this way, for this long.

I wonder if anyone else is as certain?

Tangledyarn · 15/04/2020 23:12

@thedrswife46 Its funny I'm exactly the same. Nothing has ever made me feel so ill in such a strange and specific way. If I can ever go out again it's going to be hard to remember to follow all the 'rules' as it just feels totally unnecessary now.

Tangledyarn · 15/04/2020 23:13

Ironically they have just started testing at my work now (nhs) but its obviously far too late for me.

Egghead68 · 15/04/2020 23:15

@eyebrowsofinstagram I think we are both around the same time point I have had a really bad couple of days too but not as scary-sounding as yours. I think I read that data 25-29ish can be particularly bad.

@TheDrsWife46 I feel certain I have it - never had anything remotely like this before. I feel so certain that, if I had a test and it came back negative, I would not believe the test.

Egghead68 · 15/04/2020 23:19

@Tangledyarn same here. I’m supposed to be shielding till mid-June but it feels like there is little point now (I probably still will, in the main, but might allow myself the odd very early morning walk when I am up to it).

Tangledyarn · 15/04/2020 23:23

@egghead68 I would. I keep thinking if I can get back to work that I'll volunteer to be redeployed to a higher risk area (currently not asked to as vulnerable).

pinkoneblueone · 16/04/2020 00:15

For those constantly clearing their throats I gave this a try and it helped, may taste horrible and work for a while but worth trying

Insomnia check-in. Chest muscle twitches jerked me awake a few times. Then i couldn't sleep due to burning/cold? nasal passages, dull mid chest pain, headache and leg aches. Just had 2 biscuits and paracetamol. HR in the 50s now which is weird, considering it had been racing all day. I'm tentatively putting some of this down as PMT-aggravated. Fingers crossed that's all it is; haven't needed paracetamol in a while.

adiposegirl2 · 16/04/2020 01:53

Does anyone know of men who have experienced stabbing pain/ inflammation of their testicles/ remaining flaccid when going toilet as part of their Covid 19 symptoms?

TIA
