A thread for people with CV19 symptoms that have lasted for more than a couple of weeks.

First thread here

(Called 40+ to keep a rough tab on when the first symptoms started being reported on MN).

OP posts:
Sunnyhopefulness · 15/04/2020 17:46

I’ve just counted up and I think I’m now day 46. I think I had very mild symptoms - chest and back pains and reflux like symptoms , cough , 3 week headache and not being able to think straight. Most symptoms went in under 2 weeks - but the chest ache keeps coming back .

Most of you seem to have had a much worse time of it than me and for that you have my sympathy

Dorual · 15/04/2020 17:51

I wish the antibody tests would hurry up and be ready! I'm so keen to buy one.

TheDrsWife46 · 15/04/2020 17:53

@mumlurker have a look at the article theres a bug twitter thread of people describing it like insects under the skin, fizzing, buzzing. For me its like all my nerves are alive. Like the tingle you get before a coldsore but all over the body. The people on the twitter thread of user @miafia shows so many people at 20+ plus experiencing it. Which is reassuring that it’ll end but Im struggling with it when it happens.

@Tangledyarn you’re describing exactly where Im at now. I cant get up to walk about, I tried a walk but I felt like I was going to pass out or be sick. Im back on the sofa. Im sorry that your in this place at 40+ ive whinged like a baby and im on only day 24 (i think!)

user34254356 · 15/04/2020 17:53

@standrews @godhelpusall i have now acquired the cold hands and feet symptoms on Day 29. I can't blv I am still acquiring new symptoms at this stage.

user34254356 · 15/04/2020 17:57

@TheWooisStrong great news. I am a week behind you so hopeful for my own recovery

@TheDrsWife46 omg what can I say about your mum. I would avoid her phone calls if you can. Hang in there, i am sure you will feel a bit better in the next couple of days

TheDrsWife46 · 15/04/2020 18:01

@Porcupineinwaiting @user34254356 i just googled that grey rock thing and thats kind of how I approached her today unwittingly so i’ll try that more going forward.

mumlurker · 15/04/2020 18:01

@TheDrsWife46

I think I felt like you do now about a week or 5 days ago. I literally couldn't get up, head was spinning, felt like lead. I still feel rubbish in new and endlessly weird ways, but that feeling did pass. I thought I would be stuck like that forever at the time though.

godhelpusall · 15/04/2020 18:06

We had better get lifetime immunity for this.

TheDrsWife46 · 15/04/2020 18:07

@mumlurker it seems horrible to say that that reassures me because I dont want any of us to feel this shit. At all. I know when i was in the grips of the chills/fever/breathlessness I was terrified and couldnt imagine the described ways people said how they were on day 15 etc. Now i know that I can lie without terror watching tv for a significant portion of the day and be fine. Its those bloody dips!!! I need to trust that we will move into more and more phases of recovery.

And lets face it, if we dont. In six months time we’ll all be here like some ready formed rights group like some kind of erin brocovich case file to get some bloody help from our dr’s.

mumlurker · 15/04/2020 18:12

@TheDrsWife46

I know the feeling - it's weirdly reassuring to know someone else is going through the same thing even if it's horrible that anyone is. I don't think I moved for about three days straight and much trashy TV was consumed.

Tangledyarn · 15/04/2020 18:21

@TheDrsWife46 Well it's hard whatever day you are on really. I did expect to maybe take a bit longer than other people due to underlying stuff but this does feel a bit ridiculous and its frightening to not know how long I'll feel like this for. Helpful to know I'm not the only one feeling like this though!

TheDrsWife46 · 15/04/2020 18:22

@mumlurker Ive watched friends over and over. I figure its so old theres no coronavirus and lets face it theres so many episodes it could see me through to the release of a vaccine! Grin

mumlurker · 15/04/2020 18:30

@TheDrsWife46 that's funny I've been watching friends too haha - I've become completely incapable of watching/reading anything that could even mention a virus or infact anything vaguely sad or unnerving. This virus has turned me to mush!

godhelpusall · 15/04/2020 18:34

Sorry- just looking at post viral fatigue as I'm feeling better but still getting tired and a bit dizzy at 4ish every day. Just trying to work out if it's just the virus or PVS

Egghead68 · 15/04/2020 18:41

@mumlurker I am getting bubbling in my torso. Hard to describe it. It does not hurt. Sensation is of air bubbles in liquid. I have had it at least a week (currently day 25/26).

Standrewsschool · 15/04/2020 18:48

My escapism programmes were Mallory Towers and Shakespeare and Hathaway, both in BBC iplayer.

OneDayAtATime123 · 15/04/2020 18:58

I used 3gm of Liposomal C every day with no issues.
However, when I received my jar of Ascorbic acid yesterday, I made a terrible mistake of having 5g at once :-) That was quite an experience detoxing your bowels for around several hours.
I feel better today though. Have to start slowly . Not more than 1g at a time.

mumlurker · 15/04/2020 19:03

@Egghead68

Yes! Feels like having lemonade fizzing inside me.

Dorual · 15/04/2020 19:10

Having barely eaten all day, I just snaffled beans, egg and tomatoes on toast, followed by my daily glass of Fybogel. Stuffed now and short of breath. Feel like my full stomach is constricting my lungs!!

TheDrsWife46 · 15/04/2020 19:17

@Dorual have you retained your appetite? I cannot stomach anything, i have to force mouthfuls down gagging. Im currently sipping on rehydration sachet and eating an apple. I know eating/drinking will be key to my shakes etc but I cannot manage food.

Storyofcats · 15/04/2020 19:17

@dorual Yeah that feeling is really putting me off eating! I am but just lots of v small meals x

OneDayAtATime123 · 15/04/2020 19:18

I have felt better in the last few days (fingers crossed). The only thing I was doing differently was deep breathing using 'cat and cow yoga poses' with powerful exhalations. I am doing it 4 to 5 times daily. This seems to have improved my breathing. The pose to me is more relaxing than the one shown in the Queens video, hence easier.

Gunner30 · 15/04/2020 19:22

@godhelpusall the post viral fatigue is interesting and i stumbled across this earlier. Definitely worth considering for those later on the curve. @Egghead68 I had the bubbling feeling stopped around a week ago, it seemed to be linked to movements in the digestive system, when I was having stomach issues. @Dorual I found eating too much or spicy food was a mistake and had the same situation that you describe, so maybe try less and often. Hope this helps.
