A thread for people with CV19 symptoms that have lasted for more than a couple of weeks.

First thread here

(Called 40+ to keep a rough tab on when the first symptoms started being reported on MN).

OP posts:

@pinkoneblueone ah but for the first time in my 41 years I just said “right” and didnt respond. Just let her talk herself in a circle and she went. My stepmother in contrast said “i know its forbidden but honestly i’ll drive there(hour away) in gloves mask blanket and just give you a cuddle?”

I declined obviously but its all you want isnt it. Some reassurance and affection.

Porcupineinwaiting · 15/04/2020 17:00

@TheDrsWife46 have you thought about maybe not dealing w your mother for a week or two? I hope she's usually not awful, but honestly she's been awful to you about this.

Aisforharlot · 15/04/2020 17:01

Thanks x

Oh, also in week three of no taste/ smell, though I get small improving glimpses more the last couple of days, and can smell a little more.

Is anyone else finding pelvic floor weakness an issue?
I have full on wet myself from urge incontinence a few times, where normally I’d do a tiny wee if I lost control before getting to the loo. Embarrassing.

Porcupineinwaiting · 15/04/2020 17:05

@TheWooisStrong maybe Corona for a girl or Covid for a boy eh? Grin

TheDrsWife46 · 15/04/2020 17:10

@Porcupineinwaiting she calls me every four days or so checking on me. Ive spent so long doing the right thing by her that I darent cut her out as she is so scathing. Im not sure if we actually got ill from her. Her and stepdad came back from thailand in feb and he got “flu”. She declared it couldnt be coronavirus as they got swabbed at the boarding gate. Now i know how shit testing actually is, I doubt that was genuine. Anyway the week before mothers day we were all being advised on social distancing. I said how we were gonna leave her gift outside her house, she declared it “utterly ridiculous” and that she was “taking her chances” at that time we were told it only affected old people. So I told dh she’ll make our lives shit if we dont go. So we went. On the 15th.
Dd got ill on the 20th and me 23rd.

My only issue is could they have harboured the virus that long after returning from thailand. The fact that ive been ill 20+ days makes me think maybe!!!

longshot · 15/04/2020 17:11

@thewoolisstrong very glad to hear you are continuing to do well! There's no way I am up to Joe Wicks yet but I also feel OK again today, energy levels increasing day by day. Day 36 I think.

My back aches still at the top near shoulder blades and my chest isn't what it was but other than that feel relatively normal. I have managed a 30 min walk and most normal day to day things fine today. If anything I have felt lazy as have made myself sit and rest regularly as i still have THE FEAR mainly due to my chest pain.

TheDrsWife46 · 15/04/2020 17:11

@TheWooisStrong omg please keep us updated on that one! Quarantina is nice.

godhelpusall · 15/04/2020 17:15

@TheDrsWife46 good article. Shows how tentative and uncertain it all is.

Porcupineinwaiting · 15/04/2020 17:17

@TheDrsWife46 sounds like when you are better you should spend some time on the Stately Homes thread. Sad For now though, maybe just block her calls and, if she calls on the landline, get your DJ to intercept and say you're resting. Or if you cant bring yourself to do that, google "grey rock" strategy and try that.

Standrewsschool · 15/04/2020 17:18

@mrswhirley - from previous thread. Yes to cold feet, and evenhough generally feeling better, still get cold feet at nighttime.

Standrewsschool · 15/04/2020 17:19

@shrubbish -yes to metallic taste, bit like early days of pregnancy.

Tangledyarn · 15/04/2020 17:20

The weakness/shaking/-buzzing stiff for me is still there, also feeling very faint still and have a really sore throat and swollen glands..am not sure whether I am viral or post viral at day 40 but either way it's very difficult. Am really struggling to spend any time out of bed as fatigue is so extreme that I just need to be lying down most of the time, although am trying to get out of bed when I can even if just for a few mins. I can see this being a very long road for me.

Standrewsschool · 15/04/2020 17:22

@countingsheeps - yes to sore boobs! I put it down to not wearing a bra and/or lounging around for so long (so poor posture) and/or hormone fluctuations.

pinkoneblueone · 15/04/2020 17:28

@TheDrsWife46 I do like your stepmum though she seems so lovely

pinkoneblueone · 15/04/2020 17:29

@Aisforharlot

I had the most awful virus at Christmas which I thought was the Coronavirus and it had this effect on me it was brutal.

godhelpusall · 15/04/2020 17:30

@Standrewsschool I too still have cold feet at night. I'm feeling a bit exhausted now like I have overdone it a bit today. Praying for no relapse. Very hard with demanding young kids particularly as I'm worrying about them too. Back in bed again now.

mumlurker · 15/04/2020 17:30

What do people mean by a fizzing sensation? I'm finding at night I get these little bubbling sensations that feel like they're in my veins (or maybe it's in my nerves?)? I get them across the back of my head, in my legs, and in the lung/rib cage area too. Yet another thing freaking me out at night...

pinkoneblueone · 15/04/2020 17:30

@Aisforharlot it has recovered but it was due to the violence of the cough I couldn’t hold it I ended up using pads at the time.

godhelpusall · 15/04/2020 17:30

@Tangledyarn did you have CFS? I can't remember

pinkoneblueone · 15/04/2020 17:34

I had fluttering in my chest at times thankfully it has passed.

I have a question, those who are day 50+ and 60. Did you ever get a temperature? We never have and are day 36/39 here does the temp mean the end of the virus? I am so confused.

Tangledyarn · 15/04/2020 17:34

@godhelpusall Yeah, and a couple of other things, although was functioning a lot better than this pre CV!

WorriesomeDad · 15/04/2020 17:36

Really interesting article about the ‘fizzing’. For me it was like a buzzing sensation across my abdomen and the bottom of my chest. It drove me absolutely bonkers for about three days before it faded.

WorriesomeDad · 15/04/2020 17:39

@Tangledyarn I’ve heard Post viral fatigue can be rough. My doctor said today she’d be extremely surprised if the virus itself was still present beyond 3 weeks. Hope you pick up soon.

Tangledyarn · 15/04/2020 17:43

@worriesomedad Yeah I think for some people it will just mean feeling very tired and washed out for a few weeks but for other people can be more extreme than that. It's hard for me to know what's happening because a have CFS already, I certainly havent felt like this anytime before but its possible it could have triggered a bad relapse in me I guess.

godhelpusall · 15/04/2020 17:44

@WorriesomeDad so interesting what different doctors are saying. It would be nice to know whether the virus has gone wouldn't it?
