A thread for people with CV19 symptoms that have lasted for more than a couple of weeks.

First thread here

(Called 40+ to keep a rough tab on when the first symptoms started being reported on MN).

OP posts:
Tangledyarn · 18/04/2020 18:50

@moodgie I feel v similar but not better yet..but typically post viral stuff can last a good while unfortunately.

Moodgie · 18/04/2020 18:58

Thank you @Tangledyarn. What are your current symptoms?

Moominmamma33 · 18/04/2020 19:37

@Moodgie I am so fatigued, it's frustrating isn't it. It's my main symptom today, apart from a tiny bit breathless again this eve after 3 better days.. Peaks and troughs I suppose. Hopefully with rest it'll be a better day tomorrow.

Moodgie · 18/04/2020 19:40

@moominmamma33 I do hope it will be better tomorrow. Throughout all these weeks, I haven’t been nowhere near like I am now with the ill, exhausted feeling.

TheDrsWife46 · 18/04/2020 19:58

@Egghead68 im on about day 27/28 ive lost count but Im having a lot of neurological symptoms like weakness in my legs, tingling sensations in lower body and spine and thats then making me pretty much bed bound. I keep getting up for a random walk as im mindful of my clot history but ive got pain in my chest which then worries me ive potentially already got a clot.

Can I ask what prompted your A&E trip. Thats what im scared of the frosty reception because of being almost 30 days in.

TheDrsWife46 · 18/04/2020 19:59

I should add that these are my underlying worries preventing me going to A&E or phoning again because I have to persuade them its not anxiety. And so ive sat waiting it out pushing through day by day and telling myself its all normal.

longshot · 18/04/2020 20:13

@Moodgie you asked about back ache, I had this very badly from around day 28+ it’s mostly gone now on day 39.

Generally ok today, had one weird moment where I got stressed about something and felt utterly terrible immediately and had to go and lie down. But I came back to earth and have had a decent afternoon. Been for a walk, made dinner, done some online shopping, cleaned bathrooms and put DCs to bed. No nap today and I don’t even feel that tired yet. Wow. I’ll probably feel awful again tomorrow but today was ok.

godhelpusall · 18/04/2020 20:15

Great news @longshot . That really is action packed day and gives hope to us all. Interesting how stress had such a big impact. I had a weird moment today where I completely forgot how to do something quite straightforward that I do every week at work.

Egghead68 · 18/04/2020 20:19

@TheDrsWife46 I ended up going to A&E because of severe (in my opinion, but not theirs) breathlessness. I think 111 etc might consider severe chest pain reason enough to advise you to go especially with your clot history.

I wouldn’t worry about whether the reception is frosty or not - it’s their job to examine you.

Moodgie · 18/04/2020 20:38

Great news @longshot. Was it upper back ache?

pinkoneblueone · 18/04/2020 20:49

@Moodgie I have also had upper back pain on and off throughout all of this sometimes it was the pain that was the worst for me I’m currently day 42 and it’s threatening if I do too much I feel it more I also have a bit of mild pain in my right lung area today. I’ve been so tired we have hardly moved today Dh and I that is. We are both sick, he is 3 days behind me.

godhelpusall · 18/04/2020 20:52

My upper back pain returned today day 38 after days of not being there. I'm trying to assume it's muscular rather than anything internal. But who knows.

Moodgie · 18/04/2020 20:54

@pinkonebluone I’m 43 I think and have hardly moved as well.

Gunner30 · 18/04/2020 20:56

@Moodgie i had the upper and lower back pain/aches towards the end of my symptoms last weekend, they still come and go but not so severe. I also has the fatigue, which lasted up until Monday. I'm day 36, I still get tired and can't do too much, but i've manged to do some planting and weeding in the garden today. Hopefully i'll feel ok tomorrow and hope you start to fell better soon.

alittleprivacy · 18/04/2020 21:01

Did you take yourself in? And did you explain it was post Covid symptoms?

I called my GP first. Told her I'd been sick for nearly three weeks with an illness that was mainly shortness of breath, chest pain and mild flu. That I had recovered for 4 days, then developed shortness of breath followed by severe pain on breathing. She asked me to to come in and see her, gave me a quick check up and sent me to an A&E with a letter detailing the tests she wanted me to have. I could tell she was concerned about the possibility of a blood clot because she asked me about if I was on the pill or had recently flown anywhere.

Moodgie · 18/04/2020 21:12

@Gunner30 So pleased you are better! Did the fatigue also start towards the end of the symptoms?

TheDrsWife46 · 18/04/2020 21:26

@Egghead68 and @alittleprivacy thankyou your accounts make me feel more empowered about stating my case. X

user34254356 · 18/04/2020 21:35

Day 32 here and I am another one with upper back pain especially if I overdo it. I find resting tends to ease it.

longshot · 18/04/2020 21:43

@Moodgie mostly upper between shoulder blades but later went to sort of more middle back and then today have had a few slight twinges around spine. Weird but not that bad. I took pain relief last week when it was really bad in my upper back and had Epsom bath every day. I also did child’s pose every now and again and that helped a bit I think.

Moodgie · 18/04/2020 21:56

Thank you @longshot.

TheWooisStrong · 18/04/2020 21:58

@longshot I’ve had the upper back pain too. Not there now but on and off. I think it’s linked with eating/reflux.

longshot · 18/04/2020 22:24

@thewoolisstrong a few people have mentioned the reflux link. To be honest I couldn’t see a link to when I ate but took gaviscon anyway...not sure it helped. Anyway for now it’s gone!

Dorual · 18/04/2020 22:52

Gutted. Have felt like I turned a corner today. I've stayed downstairs all day and felt good.

Then the last half hour it feels like my lung linings are swollen again and like I need to cough up something. Nothing to cough up though! Breathed in steam and still nothing.

Is day 18 past the danger zone? I know there's risk of secondary infection... but if I was going to be one of the ones who need hospital admission I'd have done so by now right?

I

intheroom · 18/04/2020 22:54

Thanks so much @longshot and @Kitcat122 for your replies

I'm on day 39 and in a dip. Breathlessness again (manageable but worse than ever). Temp all over the place. Feeling very rough when it gets to 4/5pm. I'm on doxycycline after a week of amoxicillin for possible secondary infection. My two DDs are still getting mild symptoms after 3 weeks. So it's all a bit blah.

No idea if we're still loaded with virus or if this is recovery/secondary infection.

Thank goodness for these threads though. Sleep well everyone.

WorriesomeDad · 18/04/2020 23:03

Day 36 Corona symptom bingo and I have won horrible metallic taste. Never had it before now. Confused as to how this could be post viral?!
