Im taking strong extra ones and yes I feel better for sure

IamEarthymama · 24/04/2020 20:31

I have tidied two rooms, but some washing on and pegged it out, cooked tea and now I am beyond exhausted

The pain in my joints has returned, I have arthritis and my meds are not touching it

I am going to sit on the sofa and watch Greys Anatomy with a cuppa

The worst thing still though is the feeling of having to remember to breathe properly
Fed up 😳

Sweetie60 · 24/04/2020 21:45

Had a couple of panicky days with breathlessness and racing heart again and just returning to the chat now to read how everyone else is.

I'm sorry we're all here, but so reassured from reading these posts, so thank you for sharing your experiences.

@MrsPworkingmummy thank you for explaining the cold air feeling. That is exactly how mine started - I'm glad to have found a kindred spirit! I really hope you're feeling a little better now.

@Lightsabre thank you for the advice to buy an Oximeter. I have managed to get one through Argos today, and was reassured to see my sats when I'm resting are ok - it really helps when the breathlessness comes on. They go down quickly (as low as 80) when I walk around as my heart rate goes up. I'm just wondering whether anyone else has had this experience, whether it's normal, or whether I need to report this to 111/GP?

@Callimanco I don't suffer from anxiety usually, but was admitted to A&E on about day 15 for a few hours with what they diagnosed as an anxiety attack. I've been very jittery ever since, and keep getting shaky legs (as does my DD who went down with symptoms on the same day as me). Legs stopped shaking about ten days ago, came back a couple of days ago, and feel better tonight.

Porcupineinwaiting · 24/04/2020 21:51

@Sweetie60 I think you need to talk to a medical professional about your sats dropping like that when you move round. Maybe use 111?

Selmaselma · 24/04/2020 21:55

80 is a really low reading, it is possible it is not measuring correctly. Check the instructions of your device, I think you need to keep the oximeter still for it to measure correctly.

TheSheepofWallSt · 24/04/2020 21:56

Just popped back to say it wasn’t bloody hayfever, it seems it was covid and I’m on day 10. Very rattly of chest and productive cough. Haven’t had the general exhaustion- insomnia instead- but do find myself extremely tired every few nights, and crash out very early.

More importantly @Sweetie60 - assuming your oximetry is correct, sats as low as 80 is A&E for you. That low can compromise organ function and you MUST seek help. Don’t panic, but go now, or at least call 111- imagine they will send an ambulance though.

Sweetie60 · 24/04/2020 23:10

Thank you for the advice - my DH has just looked at the wretched thing, and he thinks that it only reads properly when it is still as he got a similar effect (and he is very healthy!), so using it while moving around is not a good thing! I'm relieved as I was beginning to get really worried. As soon as I'm still, readings are quickly back to 98-99.
Hope everyone gets a good night's sleep.

Annie20061 · 25/04/2020 08:58

Morning, i hope everybody had a good nights sleep. Unfortunately, this is day 19 for me - thought i was getting better and lat night the shortness of breath is back. I had my pillows propped up between 9-2 it felt awful. Still there a little bit this morning and the burning windpipe as well. These symptoms is all i am left with and very desperate to get rid of now. Feel much better in the day & tend to have a good night or 2 then a rough night. It is so depressing.

I have a question my partner will be due back to work Tuesday, if i still have the shortness of breath can he go back? He has had no symptoms at all

SheilaTakeABow · 25/04/2020 10:10

Morning. @Annie20061 I've had a similar experience. I was fine all day, still a bit lethargic and wheezy, but nothing as bad as it had been. 2am and I'm awake and gasping, I genuinely felt I'd stopped breathing in my sleep. Sats lower than I'd like, dipping to 92 before settling at 95/96, when during the day I rest at 98/99. I'm going to call 111 again today, see if I can get some advice.
Hope everyone else is on the up Brew

Annie20061 · 25/04/2020 11:17

@SheilaTakeABow that is exactly how i feel i wake up gasping for air its very scary. Then i am frightened to go back to sleep. I now have these antibiotics because they think it has turned into a bacterial infection.

SheilaTakeABow · 25/04/2020 11:45

@Annie20061, it's terrifying isn't it? I've just started a seperate thread on it to see how widespread it is, as I'm really concerned.
111 were no help - it might be the virus, might not, just make sure DH checks on me throughout the night.

Annie20061 · 25/04/2020 13:15

@SheilaTakeABow what is the new thread you have set up called please? I had that response from 111 they can’t be certain if it is Coronavirus or not and couldn’t really help. My GP has helped more than they did.

Yes, my GP was much more helpful, but it's the weekend and 111 us my only option. I wouldn't mind but whenever I've spoken to them they just sound so utterly bored of listening to someone struggling at home with frightening symptoms.

RickyBooth · 25/04/2020 16:30

Yep I now agree GPs seem fed up with it and now its just if you get to bad phone an ambulance. Anyhow got out in garden today sorted out shed it almost killed me yikes I was so out of puff think for sure iv tried to do to much to quick but still I seem to be getting better every day now hope it gives you guys some hope that things do start to get better slowly.

SheilaTakeABow · 25/04/2020 17:23

Thanks @RickyBooth for the reassurance. I can't help but thinking that there should be some way of what has been mentioned on the 40+ thread, a covid19 helpline for answers to these questions, more from people who have been there.
I'm increasingly frustrated, not just on my behalf, how we're being told to stay at home and triage ourselves.
@MrsPworkingmummy, how are you doing today?

Annie20061 · 25/04/2020 17:55

@RickyBooth feeling ok in the day & sometimes at night. Last night wasn’t great been pottering around the house today. I seem to be getting better apart from the shortness of breath. One of my friends told me today his brother had breathing issues for nearly a month before they finally went

blueangel1 · 25/04/2020 17:56

I think I'm about 33 days in now, but I've lost track of bloody time lately. There's really not much remaining in terms of symptoms now, other than the zingy nose. I am getting sporadic muscle aches and weariness, but I think this is post-viral stuff to be honest.

RickyBooth · 25/04/2020 18:58

@Annie20061 Yes for sure this virus seems very long and slow to shift iv still got a few issues with breathing and a lump that seems to be in throat at night now and again. But iv started to take ibuprofen instead of paracetamol on GP say so and they seem to work much better

@SheilaTakeABow I fully agree would be nice for a helpline for advice

usernotfound0000 · 26/04/2020 05:33

Hello, I hope it is ok to ask here if anyone had sickness and diarrhoea as a first symptom? I went to bed feeling a bit off it last night, woke up at 1.30, fainted and had a bout of diarrhoea. I've been on and off to the toilet since then and now have just thrown up. Diarrhoea isn't that unusual for me but I'm very rarely sick (outside of pregnancy we're talking 15 years ago, and definitely not pregnant). I can't really see how I would have picked up a bug, although it could be food poisoning? But I'm hearing that this might be a symptom of CV and starting to feel worried. Thanks.

MrsPworkingmummy · 26/04/2020 06:48

@SheilaTakeABow I'm on day 13 now and I'm definitely feeling a lot better. I am getting up out of bed, wearing clothes etc and am starting to eat 3 - albeit small - meals a day. I'm not 100% though, not by any stretch. I'm still very weak (find it hard putting hands into fists for example), I'm very tired by 7pm and I still have bouts of breathing issues where I need to really focus on doing a deep breath. How are you?

AvocadoPrime · 26/04/2020 09:06

Hi everyone! I hope you are all feeling okay today. I struggle with health anxiety but I'm half convinced I have this. Started 9 days ago with a sore throat, been very tired, achey muscles, upper back hurts near shoulder (could be muscluar) get dizzy when I do things like make breakfast. I get very paranoid at night and worry I'm going to go downhill. If it is covid.. am I past the most worrying stage or not? Also to add I've had no temp and very occasional cough for one day but think that was more throat clearing as I have alot of phlegm.

SheilaTakeABow · 26/04/2020 09:39

Morning all.

@usernotfound0000, I understand a lot of people have started like that, so it might be. Equally, it might not. Which is not very helpful, especially when you have to start making decisions about isolating from the family. Do you have any other symptoms?

@MrsPworkingmummy, good to hear you're feeling better. I had a better night's sleep last night - I got the humidifier out and I think that made a difference. It's such a waiting game though isn't it; I can't wait for the day when I finally go, "That's it, I'm cured." Wine

@AvocadoPrime, again, that may well be it. If you look back over these threads, very few people have had the traditional cough and fever, instead there's a lot of tiredness, tight chests and just not feeling quite right. I really understand your fear over if you're past the 'danger zone' though. I'm still not sure if I'm on day 14 (mild tightness in chest started then) or day 7 (symptoms worrying enough to call 111). I really hope the latter. Either way, just rest and keep an eye on things, and if they get worse phone 111 or your GP (personally, I found GP much more helpful).

Here's to continued recoveries Flowers

usernotfound0000 · 26/04/2020 10:47

Thanks for replying sheilatakeabow. I don't have any cough or fever. I am feeling fatigued and lack of appetite but those are things I would also expect from a stomach bug so it's hard to know.

Annie20061 · 26/04/2020 13:46

@SheilaTakeABow glad you had a better night last night. I also had a good night. Feeling really tired today though & a but breathless so hoping that tonight will be good again.

@usernotfound0000 yes i know what you mean hopefully you just have a stomach bug & it will pass in 24 hours.

Did everyone else have a good night?

Annie20061 · 26/04/2020 18:50

Well after my good day & night yesterday i am feeling shortness of breath tonight & sore throat is making a come back. @RickyBooth the lump in your throat feeling & you need to keep swallowing - i get that as well and its back tonight.

Hope I’m totally wrong & i have a good night 👍 hope you all do as well
