@Annie20061 yup its so annoying I must say but then ibuprofen helps a lot. I was a little breathless this morning but ok for now. So yep hope that I have a good night also and you to.

SheilaTakeABow · 26/04/2020 19:34

Oh @Annie20061, that's a bugger. Do you feel back to square one, or just not as good as you had? It does seem to really hang around, it's just waiting until you have more good days than bad I suppose.
I've had a good day, spent most of it not in bed, but I'm not getting my hopes up just yet!

Annie20061 · 26/04/2020 20:03

Not as good as the last 2 days @SheilaTakeABow- still improved from last week though. I’m sat in bed propped up feeling okay at the moment so perhaps it won’t be a bad night - i will let you know tmrw. A bit scared of going to sleep.

My partner is in the army so he is a keyworker, he needs to get back to work, so we are being tested going to the oxford test centre in the morning. He hasn’t got any symptoms but at least we will know if we are covid-19 affected or not & if he can go back to work.

MrsPworkingmummy · 27/04/2020 06:55

How was everyone last night? I'm on day 14, and although significantly better than I was this time last week, the overall unwell feeling is still hanging over me, and by the afternoon, I usually have to lie down due to my breathing not being right. I am getting a covid test dropped off to my house today (one for me, my husband and daughter. Our son is below 5 so isn't getting one). I hope its not too difficult to self administer.

Annie20061 · 27/04/2020 08:33

@MrsPworkingmummy my night wasn’t good plagued by shortness of breath & not being able to sleep because of it. I’m on day 21 & feeling loads better in myself, eating more etc. Just the breathing issue & the sore throat & windpipe are back today. I feel like i have gone back a bit which is depressing. Glad you’re getting a test as well. Just getting ready to go for our test - its a 40 minute drive.

Annie20061 · 27/04/2020 08:33

@MrsPworkingmummy how was your night?

Triumvir · 27/04/2020 08:40

Hi all. I wrote about my experience in the link below. As you'll see, I had pretty much every symptom going and then some. But after 6 weeks (almost to the second) I felt practically back to normal. This thread is actually the one I refer to in the article. Stay patient - you will recover.

medium.com/@doyebalogun/my-recent-experience-with-a-mystery-virus-as-a-36-year-old-healthy-male-92a59c2609c5

SheilaTakeABow · 27/04/2020 08:41

Morning. I'm kind of the same. Mentally I feel much better than I have, in terms of energy and the sheer terror has abated, but my breathing is still quite knackered.
How long will your results take @MrsPworkingmummy?

MrsPworkingmummy · 27/04/2020 08:54

I had an OK night thanks. My pattern seems to be that my breathing becomes more difficult mid to late afternoon. I sleep on my front as its more comfortable. Tests are getting delivered today, then they'll be collected tomorrow. Results back within two days after that! I'll be on day 17/18 by then so feel that the test is being given too late.

SheilaTakeABow · 27/04/2020 09:14

Yes, @Annie20061 and @MrsPworkingmummy, afternoons and evenings are my definite low point. I hope you both get the answers you need from the tests.
Annie, I have a triangle pillow from M&S that was really good at keeping me upright in the night, which helps - although I still woke up breathless countless times, it seemed to reduce the severity of it.
Six weeks @Triumvir?! I'll have a read of that, thanks.
Take care all Brew

Annie20061 · 27/04/2020 10:20

@Triumvir thank you i have read your Coronavirus experience and very similar to my experience of it. So up & down end of the day the worst. Just got to ride it out now the shortness of breath & chest tightness is the worst.

UncomfortableBadger · 27/04/2020 13:10

Morning all

Reporting back at 33-ish days to say that I feel so much more like myself - I’ve had a handful of rubbish headaches but overall I’m properly on the mend. For those of you who are suffering in the hideous 2nd & 3rd weeks, there is hope!

I recall several of us who are now in the 30+ crew saying a few weeks ago that heartburn remedies really seemed to help with the symptoms. I’ve just come across this article - perhaps not a coincidence after all? www.sciencemag.org/news/2020/04/new-york-clinical-trial-quietly-tests-heartburn-remedy-against-coronavirus

Annie20061 · 27/04/2020 14:19

@UncomfortableBadger what heartburn remedies did you take please?

Mummypig2020 · 27/04/2020 14:40

Hi,

So me and Dh had a bad Chest about 5 weeks ago that lasted 3 weeks. Dh is all better now. (He lost taste and smell etc too).

I was feeling fine but the last few days my chest hurts and I have an awful cough again. It’s constant and it’s making my chest hurt.

I don’t know what to do :(

Lindy2 · 27/04/2020 15:11

Has anyone had really very mild, drawn out symptoms but symptoms that potentially match Coronavirus?

For the last 6 weeks I've had a string of symptoms but mostly 1 at a time and quite mild. It started with a slightly raised temperature of 37.1 - 37.3 for a couple of days which was accompanied by being very shivery and very weird spasms. I dropped my phone several times while lying in bed because my hand suddenly jerked so violently!

Since then I've had a slight cough every day (but not hacking) and on and off breathlessness, slight wheezing, pain between my shoulder blades, sore throat and headache. None of it at all bad though but always at least 1 or 2 symptoms always there.

I didn't initially think for one moment it was Corona as I didn't have a high temperature or what I would describe as a bad cough. Now, I simply don't know as a lot of symptoms seem to match but in a mild form. For something so mild I really should surely have shaken it off in less than 6 weeks. Then again though Corona seems to include every symptom under the sun at every level from hardly there to extreme and every time frame.

I wondered if anyone else has experience similar.

I actually got tested yesterday as DH is a key worker and he also developed a temperature and slight cough a little while ago. He's due back at work soon after having done the required self isolating so took the test to try and confirm he hasn't actually got it before returning to work. I was tested too as a family member and as I also still have a cough, sore throat and headache. We live near a test centre and there was actually lots of available test slots for key workers and their families. We should get the results tomorrow. I'm thinking though that even on the slight chance it was Corona that the results will be negative as it's gone on so long for me and I must be past the detectable stage. DH might get a more accurate result as his symptoms are more recent.

UncomfortableBadger · 27/04/2020 16:36

@Annie20061 If you read back through the various Lungs threads, you’ll see that we were taking a mixture between us - Gaviscon, Pepcid, Nexium, omeprazole etc. Some were prescribed by posters’ GPs, rather than OTC. Seemed to help with the burning chest pain at heart level.

Annie20061 · 27/04/2020 16:53

@UmcomfortableBadger thank you i will see how i go tonight and contact the doctor tomorrow if I’m have another bad night & see if he can prescribe me something. Feeling burning chest sensation, chest tightness & short of breath this afternoon so it maybe another rough night ahead

It’s interesting to see that this can go on for some time and isn’t necessarily gone within the 7-14 days that the government are suggesting

Lightsabre · 27/04/2020 16:53

Day 30 for me - GP has prescribed Doxycycline but said wait a couple of days to give the amoxicillin time to work (finished it Saturday but have a very tight chest and sob). Also have meds for oral thrush which I discovered when swabbing for the CV rest yesterday - joy! Sick note for another two weeks.

I feel a bit stronger today though - have been for a 20 minute walk, made lunch, mopped the floors and now resting in the garden. Heart rate has dropped a little. Hoping this continues but not counting my chickens.

AvocadoPrime · 27/04/2020 17:51

What day is everyone counting from. I've had a sore throat with fatigue for 10 days. Today I developed a very occasional dry cough. Each time I cough it's only once, less than once an hour. I've been counting from onset of sore throat?

Mummypig2020 · 27/04/2020 18:01

I don’t know what to do, it seems to getting worse. Should I ring the drs in the morning?

Annie20061 · 27/04/2020 20:02

@Mummypig2020 mine is getting worse again tonight. Yes definitely call them tmrw Or call 111

@AvocadoPrime i am counting from my first symptoms which started 6th april

@Lightsabre I’m finishing my doxycycline last dose wednesday i think it has helped. I am also sob tonight, sore throat which feels like it is closing up. I’m only day 21 and you are still ill at day 30. Hope we recover soon its so tiring.

AvocadoPrime · 27/04/2020 20:09

@Mummypig2020 yes ring the doctor tomorrow if you feel you should! Hopefully a sleep will help a bit.

@Annie20061 blimey that's a while. I'm quickly losing hope that I will feel better soon. Today is only day 10.
I just want to know when I'm out of the danger zone. Keep trying to say to myself that as it's been 10 days it's unlikely to take a serious turn at this point?

Cati482 · 27/04/2020 20:25

@Lindy2 I’m glad you asked that, as I’m in the same boat! I remember being a little poorly back in mid-March with a cough, slight tickly throat and feeling a bit out of sorts for a couple of days but wouldn’t have described myself as ill.

Since then I’ve had a mild cough and chest tightness off and on, so about 6 weeks now. Every time I think I’ve shaken it off, it comes back. I’ve made another doctors appointment for tomorrow (last was 3 weeks ago) as I’m a bit concerned it hasn’t gone yet. Even though I’m a key worker, I cant get tested yet as I’m in Wales and Welsh government is dragging its heels 😒

Please let me know how you get on as your situation is so similar to mine. I hope you feel better soon 😊

Lightsabre · 27/04/2020 20:28

Thanks @Annie20061, for some reason I'm a bit scared of the Doxycycline but glad you felt better on it. As the GP said wait a couple of days after the amoxicillin then take it of chest is still tight. Horrible being on all these meds.

Annie20061 · 27/04/2020 20:28

@avocadoprime i keep thinking the same every time i get short of breath at night worrying if it’s going to turn more serious. I just try to breath as deeply as i can & not panic, that will make everything lots worse. Just taking a day at a time & i know i am improving slowly.
