@Cusano34. My doctor said I was OK to go back if I felt up to it. I feel like I have not had an active virus for weeks now. I have energy etc just the chest issues are never ending. My doctor said it could take time. She said lots of nasty viruses can take their toll and the body can take months. I hold onto that but it does get worrying sometimes.

MummyPop00 · 07/05/2020 15:33

Day 40 for me today.

By the sounds of it, a lot of us are in a similar boat.

The SOB phases are a complete PITA with no end in sight and all the medics can do is offer recovery advice cliches that you could apply to any number of other diseases as tbh when all’s said & done at this point they aren’t much wiser than we are.

We are experiments in progress. Or at least that’s how it feels.

Theforest · 08/05/2020 09:34

Yes, I think we are similar now. Not sure on day for me, but its 5th week I think. Have anti-biotics for possible bacterial pneumonia, but I doubt it is.

Feeling bit better at the moment. Still have a strange feeling chest and back, but SOB has been ok for the last few days. Fingers crossed this is on the mend now. But who knows!!! How long do we have to wait until we feel we are over this.

Annie20061 · 08/05/2020 14:13

Mine is similar, day 32 for me, had 3 good days & 2 nights actually thought it had gone ☹️ I even went for a walk yesterday afternoon!

Sadly, yesterday evening awful headache, feeling nauseous & sob again. Sore throat today, nausea, fatigue & sob. It is so depressing that it keeps coming back. GP Is excellent said she gas heard if alot of cases going on for a few weeks & the virus will go eventually.

My partner has it now symptoms started 3 days ago. Hope all of us recover really soon.

Cityonlockdown · 08/05/2020 16:10

I have felt awful this morning, my throat is the worst.

Annie20061 · 08/05/2020 18:14

Had an awful day, sob getting worse this evening & throat so sore again. I felt like this last week thought this had gone. Pain in my left ribcage as well ☹️ Hope the night doesn’t get worse

Cusano34 · 08/05/2020 18:18

@annie20061 oh no :( my GP and 111 said the same thing. It made me feel better knowing that most people will go through the same thing.

Sorry to hear your husband has symptoms now. Do you think that was from you or from somewhere else? I’ve been wondering how long we are contagious for as I’m due back to work after 4 weeks

Annie20061 · 08/05/2020 18:26

@Cusano34 he has been at home with me so he must have got it from me. I am hoping that he gets it & its gone in 7 days he is younger & fitter than i am! Some people have taken 14 days before the symptoms have shown Aidy must be one of these.

I just feel as if i have just gone back to how i felt last week which is awful

Cusano34 · 08/05/2020 18:36

@annie20061 ohhh man what a shame 😔 my fingers are crossed it passes quickly for him at least x

Annie20061 · 08/05/2020 18:42

@cusano34 thank you i hope he gets rid of it quickly as well. He has looked after me all the way through this he has been a real rock. This thread is keeping me going as well 👍

RickyBooth · 08/05/2020 21:41

Hey all an update from me now most things have passed just the odd ache and slight lung pain now and again im still not at full strength and my throat still feels like it has a lump but it seems to come and go this is now the 4/5 week for me

Cusano34 · 09/05/2020 06:35

Does anything think the throat feeling may be globus sensation due to anxiety? Or do you feel it’s the virus? I’m unsure :/

Annie20061 · 09/05/2020 07:19

@cusano34 i think its to do with the virus. I get this throat feeling sometimes when i have had an awful cold in the past or the flu.

My night wasn’t as bad as some have been sob breath still but I managed to sleep. Woke up to a headache, aches all over & sore throat. Sob I’m sure will follow later. How is everybody else this morning?

Cusano34 · 09/05/2020 08:27

@Annie20061 I’ve been sleeping well lately, the first week I was up all night every night it was awful.

Fingers crossed the SOB doesn’t follow for you. I’m pleased you had a good night!

AvocadoPrime · 09/05/2020 09:18

Hi all. Hope everyone is coping alright. I've been lurking for a while and was tested 2 weeks into symptoms but it was negative. Possibly false negative though as symptoms had been present for so long. It's now been 3 weeks and one day. I've had a sore throat throughout. Mucus. Occasional cough. Rapid heartrate. On and off tight chest. Earache and headaches.. Tired constantly but never a fever. Of course it could be another virus but I've never had one like this. Its infuriating. I had a few days of feeling a little better and now it's all back again. GP sent me for tests at hospital due to heartrate and SOB all were normal. It's just so frustrating having no answers and no 'magic pill'.
I've been taking paracetamol daily and vitamins.

onlinelinda · 09/05/2020 09:55

You've obviously got it, @AvocadoPrime . Not everyone gets a temperature-apparently 88% in China. That's 12% who don't, including Kate Osborne MP. Just under a third of the test results are inaccurate.

AvocadoPrime · 09/05/2020 10:24

@onlinelinda I do think that's what it is. Doesnt make sense otherwise. I know lots of viruses can linger but it's becoming ridiculous now. My 2 DS and my partner have been fine. 1 ds had a sore throat for a couple of days. I've also had a dodgy tummy as well. Hoping as I've had it a while it won't get any worse. Also hopeful that if this isn't CV I dont get it until I'm fully recovered from this bag of fun.

RickyBooth · 09/05/2020 10:29

@Cusano34 At firs I did wonder if it was anxiety then once I got all the other symptoms and then saw that so many others have had the same thing I realised that its all part of the virus.

Cusano34 · 09/05/2020 10:59

You’re all right it probably is the virus. I think mine has been a bit of both, I had major anxiety in March which my symptoms started and lockdown was announced and it all became real!

I think it is easy to forget that there definitely are still so many other things going around though. I’m not at all saying we don’t have CV but out of over 1.5 million tests only a small amount have been positive. In the hospital I work in alone we’ve tested over 4000 people and just over 300 have been positive. Just trying to keep perspective 😅

RickyBooth · 09/05/2020 14:27

Yes I agree but GP confirmed mine as to be CV and I must agree there is lots goin around at this time of year and Anxiety can make things much worse than they already are iv made a few posts about the Anxiety side of it and have found that once people have calmed down a little they have improved along with all the support this and other threads have given.

Theforest · 10/05/2020 16:10

Hi all. How is everyone doing?

I have had a good couple of days thankfully. End of anti-biotics today. Not sure it was down to that anyway. Will be interesting to see whether the dreaded SOB comes back or not....

KindnessCrusader · 10/05/2020 17:21

Day 9 here and although I've tested negative my GP is having none of it. He is convinced it's CV. I'm not too bothered what it is to be honest, I just know I've never been this ill.
Still a feeling of something stuck in my throat, chest sounds wheezy and feels 'swollen'. Still no cough, still no temperature. Still fighting sleep because it's such an effort to breathe awake I worry I'll just stop in my sleep. What day did people start to find breathing easier?

Annie20061 · 10/05/2020 18:15

@Theforest had quite a good day sob, not gone, but lots better. Nausea feeling, tirdness & rib pains here today. Much better - entering week 5 tmrw so hoping i am now fully on the mend. My partner has symptoms but so far been mild so hope it stays that way for him.

@KindnessCrusader my breathing seemed to ease for me after about day 14. I have still had sob at times now but not as bad as the second week of this. I hardly slept during that week. Hope you feel better soon.

KindnessCrusader · 10/05/2020 18:30

@Annie20061 thank you so much for replying. It's hard to see an end to it. Which makes the panic worse!
