@emoojoo Thank you so much you have reassured me I even booked us all a test I was so worried. Is it omeprozole maybe that helped settle my tummy too! I am 56 days so hoped to be better clearly not

emoojoo · 04/05/2020 02:20

@pinkoneblueone my 2 boys have some odd purple red splodges too. They both seem well after symptoms 3-4weeks ago. I'm keeping an eye on these - will ask gp when I next speak to her. Maybe these come out after we process the virus?
Are you on the body politic slack group about covid - it's another useful resource across us/uk - I read the 'victories' section on that last night and it is reassuring. I'll dig out the info to sign up for you tomorrow.

emoojoo · 04/05/2020 02:21

@pinkoneblueone ps. yes that's the tablet, seems to be good so far

pinkoneblueone · 04/05/2020 02:24

I have just joined the slack group and posted there too. Thank you again for the reassurance I needed it as I have just had a really hard few days

emoojoo · 04/05/2020 02:26

@pinkoneblueone good to hear - do read the victories section on there - it is heartening to see recovery stories when things feel endless.

pinkoneblueone · 04/05/2020 03:11

I have just carried out the survey on there for now. Thank you

KindnessCrusader · 04/05/2020 19:11

Well after I posted things got REALLY bad! I got up to go to the loo and couldn't walk, couldn't breathe. I thought I was a gonner, honestly. Husband called 111 who sent an ambulance. Oxygen was very low so they took me in. They did a chest x-ray, bloods and a couple of ecg's. No markers for covid in the bloods or sign in the x-ray. They were (understandably) desperate to discharge once they were pretty sure it wasn't covid even though my oxygen was still falling through the floor every time I stood up.
My family dr rang today and says he thinks I have an infection in my throat/windpipe and he's prescribed penicillin. So even though it wasn't covid, thank you for prompting us to seek help!

KindnessCrusader · 04/05/2020 19:12

@Theforest and @RickyBooth I'm sorry my tag for you two didn't work in my last post.

RickyBooth · 04/05/2020 19:27

Fantastic so pleased @KindnessCrusader that you got the help and now you can get on the mend

Cusano34 · 05/05/2020 08:47

That’s great news. A relief I bet to hear it isn’t covid!

Sorry to change the subject away from what this thread is actually for but, I wondered could someone explain to me how I would start one? Please!

I am interested to know when people have returned to work / how they’ve been since returning etc. Or is there an existing thread for this? I can’t for the life of me figure out how to do it 🤦‍♀️ (I’m pretty new here!) xx

Miaowse · 05/05/2020 09:05

@pinkoneblueone In case you haven’t seen it already, here’s an article about rash like symptoms:

www.independent.co.uk/news/health/
skin-conditions-dermatologists-covid-19-a9492331.html

Or there’s a similar one from the BBC:

pinkoneblueone · 05/05/2020 09:24

Thank you @miaowse i couldn’t get the first link to work, the BBC one did however. I have had some spots appear on my chest too which I hoped were a sign the virus was leaving my body.

Miaowse · 05/05/2020 11:33

Oops, sorry I think I broke the link when it split over two lines.

Theforest · 05/05/2020 17:03

How scary @KindnessCrusader but I hope you are feeling better and that you have tested negative - although you are still unwell. That sounds horrible. How are you feeling today?

Lightsabre · 06/05/2020 07:55

@Cusano34, I use my phone so it might be different but on the active page there is a little pen symbol to start a new thread. It sounds like a good idea for one.

Day 40 here, waking up nauseous each morning with upper back lung pain, tight chest and shortness of breath. I feel stronger in myself but can't do much more than potter with frequent rests at the moment. Can't walk for more than 600 metres without my chest feeling crushed. Really worried and GP's have no answers or anywhere to refer on at the moment. I'm just clinging to the knowledge that I am stronger and now spending most of my time out of bed.

Annie20061 · 06/05/2020 20:35

What is the new thread called please?

MillStone · 07/05/2020 05:50

@Lightsabre Hope you’re feeling a bit better this morning.

Today brings Day 40 for me too and I’m in exactly the same situation as you. Stronger by the day, up and about, but the chest tightness, rear back/lung pain and SOB (worst symptom) are still dominating my day. My lungs also have episodes where they feel dry and my heat, although improving still has its pounding moments.

I phoned my GP again at the beginning of the week to ask (plead) if there was anything they could prescribe to help. The dr who phoned back asked several times if a lot of this was due to anxiety. Not really what you want to hear after 40 hideous days.

Does anyone know if there’s a new thread or what it’s called please?

Lightsabre · 07/05/2020 08:36

@MillStone, yes, we're at the same stage. Last night I seemed to be able to breathe a little more deeply for the first time in almost 6 weeks. I still have a high heart rate though. Let's see what the day brings.

I'm mostly on the threads for the 40\50 days plus but hopefully those of you going through the earlier stages of this can start a My Lungs 8 thread - they're so invaluable for helping us to feel like we're not alone.

Lightsabre · 07/05/2020 10:02

@KindnessCrusader, how are you today?

Cusano34 · 07/05/2020 13:54

@Lightsabre thanks so much! I finally figured it out.

No one replied to it...maybe because no one has done it yet! Am I allowed to ask here if anyone has returned to work yet? I really don't know what to do :(

hope everyone is having an ok day today Flowers

Lightsabre · 07/05/2020 14:12

I can't find it @Cusano34 - is it in the Coronavirus topic?

Cusano34 · 07/05/2020 14:18

@Lightsabre I think I did post it in there! perhaps no one can relate and that's why. I will try another Smile

Kitcat122 · 07/05/2020 14:26

@Cusano34, I am on day 54 and returned to work 2 weeks ago. I am a TA so I only working part time hours 4 days with one full time day. I feel no better or worse going back to work. Still having 3ish good days then 3ish bad days 🙄. My main symptoms are chest and back pain and sob with any slight exertion. Started nurofen yesterday as sick of it. We will see.

Cusano34 · 07/05/2020 14:30

@kitcat122 thank you for your reply :)

I've had symptoms on off since mid March but unsure if the first part was related. Either way its been 4 weeks since they came back worse and now left with a cough and shallow breathing still and suuuper tired. I work as a secretary in the hospital so not with patients etc im just so confused when we're contagious or not :/

Glad you feel ok being back at work though. I wonder how long until we are better again Sad
