Oh it is scary, esp at night. Most of today's symptoms have subsided but now my skin is burning again and I'm too scared to sleep cause 2am is usually when things start ramping up for me. Am going to read a bit, then if things do get bad, binge watch some tv.

Tell Alberto to piss off from me. And if he really wont and you need to, call for help.

pinkoneblueone · 18/04/2020 01:45

Hello I haven’t been over here in a while but I have created a petition to hopefully help boost awareness of the symptoms that aren’t mentioned that we have all been experiencing to raise awareness and hopefully help people realise they have the virus as soon as it starts. Please can you sign it for me?

www.change.org/p/rt-hon-matt-hancock-mp-gov-to-update-the-symptoms-of-clovid-19-on-all-guidance-to-save-lives

Casino218 · 18/04/2020 02:22

@sheepsocks it transfers on surfaces so unless you change your gloves every 5 mins then you touch things then touch your face mask ( masks most of the time increase your risk of contracting the virus as you adjust them constantly) plus the virus is so small it can go through the fabric of most of the flimsy masks people are wearing.

MyBeloved · 18/04/2020 06:06

@Porcupineinwaiting
Fell asleep thanks to cocodamol in the end.
Alberto has taken some if his weight off me, but is still keeping a foothold in my chest. I have woken up to go to the toilet as I always do, and am waiting for sleep to consume me once more.

Did you manage to sleep? I hope your night wasn't too bad. What are you watching at the moment? I have been bingeing on Call the Midwife, of all things!

Notpanickingjustyet · 18/04/2020 06:26

Hello, just checking in on day 9. Had a horrid headache all yesterday which id had though the night too. Paracetomols not helped. It went around 4pm. Then coughing and burning in back. I slept normally and feel this morning like nothing has ever been wrong with me. I'm not getting exciting though has I've been following this thread.
I hope everyone starts to make a recovery soon. As well as scary, it's disheartening to keep going back and forth. Even though I was told I can come out of isolation at day 7, I feel like I could still spread it, so won't go food shopping!

Makinganewthinghappen · 18/04/2020 07:24

Hello all!

I woke up yesterday feeling really tired and later in the day had an upset stomach. This morning I still have the stomach upset but also feel like there is gunk or bubbles built up in my throat/ chest - it’s hard to tell.

I don’t have a temp (37.1 - so normal I think?) And I have the urge to cough but it’s just because of the feeling of crackles in my throat/chest.

I would normally ignore it but dh is in a higher risk group (although not the highest) and if it could be “IT” then I would really want to somehow avoid him...

Has anyone else felt this way at the start?

Notpanickingjustyet · 18/04/2020 07:41

@Makinganewthinghappen

Yes I started with stomach pain and fatigue. My stomach was upset and I had no temperature. I didn't start the cough until day 5. The stomach was enough to keep me up all night though. Since that, the pain moved about, all over.
If it's possible, maybe you could try keeping your distance from your husband. I appreciate that's hard though. I hope you feel better soon.

Notpanickingjustyet · 18/04/2020 07:50

@pinkoneblueone thank you for doing this! When I did the paramedics my symptoms, they said they'd heard them a lot. They're not 'advertised' here but they are in other countries. Gastric problems are documented but not shared. I will sign.

Makinganewthinghappen · 18/04/2020 08:01

Thanks notpanicking - I will stay in the bedroom today - I feel a little dodgy anyway so probably for the best even if it is something else!

We have six children from 4 years old up to 15 so the chances of anything whether it’s Covid or a sickness bug NOT spreading are really low. But we can try!

I have only been out to the shops and no where else so hopefully I haven’t picked anything up.
I have had to go quite a few times as I don’t have car and can’t get a delivery slot so I’ve had to go in and out with my little wheely bag since I just can’t carry all the food for 8 people in one go Sad

Notpanickingjustyet · 18/04/2020 08:27

@Makinganewthinghappen that's tough with the shopping. It must be frustrating not being able to get a slot and getting all that in for your family. I hope you have someone that can deliver to you?
We need the anti-body testing so we all know what's what for definite.
I hope you and your family aren't too bad.

Crayfishforyou · 18/04/2020 08:29

Day 19
I couldn't sleep and decided to bite the bullet and google coronavirus.
I now understand covid 19! It destroys red blood cells. That is why I am suddenly severely anaemic, and I get dizzy, and everything is an effort, and my heart races! And the pneumonia is caused by the lungs not getting enough oxygen, because there isn't enough haemoglobin.
That's why I need to rest, I need to conserve my oxygen to essential purposes only.

Notpanickingjustyet · 18/04/2020 08:53

@crayfishforyou I'm sorry you're still feeling rubbish. Can you get iron supplements? Anaemia is horrid and can make you feel bad enough on its own. I hope you get some rest.

Crayfishforyou · 18/04/2020 09:26

I have got iron thank you.
I just wish I knew how long I could expect to feel like this.
Sats are fluctuating between 96 and 99. They do dip to 95 but not for very long.

Dorual · 18/04/2020 09:30

@Crayfishforyou

I hear you. I'm anaemic too, usually borderline, but have been very pale the last couple of months and diet not been great. O2 sats sound the same as yours... fluctuate between 94-99, often 97. My stomach can't tolerate iron tablets so I take Spatone water and extra vitamin C.

MillStone · 18/04/2020 09:57

@Crayfishforyou

"...suddenly severely anaemic, and I get dizzy, and everything is an effort, and my heart races!"

Hi, it's awful isn't it. With those symptoms do you also have chest / lung / back pain / aches + soreness and shortness of breath?

The situation you describe is the same as mine but I also have the above.

I can shower or make breakfast but it results in the extreme tiredness, a fast pounding heart and breathing difficulties. My armpits are also still slightly sweaty and my hands and feet are clammy. I'm more tired at this stage than I was 1 or even 2 weeks in. I'm at 3-4 weeks now.

I have also noticed my temperature has been increasing slightly over the past few days. It tends to be 36.8 but 2 days ago it started creeping up and I've just recorded 37.4. I know that's not classed as a fever... but it is high for me and could account for my clammy armpits, hands and feet.

In the past 3 days, both my back pain and lungs have been getting increasingly sore, to the point where I'd now describe my lungs as raw. I don't know if this is part of the healing process or a cause for concern. I say this because generally I'm finding it easier to breathe and, depending on what finger I use to take a reading, my oxygen is typically 98 -99.

Thanks to anyone who read this. I hope everyone managed to get some sleep and if you're not feeling a little better then are able to do the equally as difficult job of keeping calm and positive.

Crayfishforyou · 18/04/2020 10:07

@Millstone
My lungs are raw, and I do get chest pains, but not all the time. And my temperature hasn't crept back up. Basically my headaches and chest take it in turns to hurt.
I've decided to throw money at the problem and ordered cans of oxygen that mountaineer people use. It might help alleviate the post shower/toilet/getting a drink palpitations a little bit.
Judging by my poor dsis and her symptoms I think pneumonia is also on the way for me. I had three days of almost feeling normal this week Sad

Crayfishforyou · 18/04/2020 10:09

I think lungs can be raw when they are healing, a cough with white gunk coming up is your body rejecting the damage.
I haven't had that.

SheepSocks · 18/04/2020 10:12

@Casino218 it's scary how spreadable this virus is, I had quite a heavy duty mask on!

@TheDrsWife46 I was the only person to go out the house. My husband had pneumonia a few years ago and has never been the same since, we decided that I would be the one to go shopping.

I've woke up aching all over. I'm hoping for a mild version of this nightmare. I really hope my husband doesn't get it.

MillStone · 18/04/2020 10:25

Hey @Crayfishforyou

Thanks for your reply. I'm sorry to hear about your sister and your own possible complications. Terrible.

Yesterday I coughed quite a lot more than usual. It was quite chesty and felt the most productive yet - in terms of gunk - but nothing materialised.

pinkoneblueone · 18/04/2020 12:27

@Notpanickingjustyet

I will update my petition to add gastric issues and muscle twitches and tremors

Notpanickingjustyet · 18/04/2020 12:36

I feel quite scared when I read this thread. It seems like this drags on and on. I only know one person in rl who's had this and she's gone back to work as a nurse (but couldn't be tested).
Although I feel 'better' if I was at work, id definitely still be off!

BreathlessCommotion · 18/04/2020 13:01

I'm on day 10 and feel much better. I'm still quite tired and keep having possible fevers at night, wear I flush up and wake up in cold sweats.

But overall I feel much better. I went to the supermarket yesterday. I did have a massive nap for most of the afternoon afterwards though,

Lightsabre · 18/04/2020 13:07

Day 22 here. Breathlessness still there (when will that ever go!) and searing upper back pain. Shaky today - managed a 15 minute walk (that would normally take 5 minutes) but grateful to have done that. I wouldn't have been able to manage that last week so trying to hang on to the little progress. Temperature, blood pressure, oxygen levels all ok but heart rate up to 110 on exertion. Still havnt started the antibiotics as I'm not producing and bringing up much mucus. Would antibiotics help with lung back pain?

How is everyone doing today and what day are you on now?

Crayfishforyou · 18/04/2020 13:28

@Notpanickingjustyet
Don't panic
My DH had a cough and a headache for some day, then a cough and fever for three days, then he slept for twenty hours straight.
That was it.
He is fine and has been for two weeks now.
Jealous.

BreathlessCommotion · 18/04/2020 13:46

Antibiotics are only going to help with a bacterial infection. If it'd the infection causing the pain, then yes they'd help. But if the pain was something else, then no
