NordSjoen Bloodyhell, I hope you are o.k, be careful with the Naproxen, it can cause heartburn. I can't tolerate it, even with the coated ones.
I did think the G.P was thinking too extreme when they said about your rib, they were implying you had broken a bone really, which got me thinking about the stages leading up to it, which straight away led me to Pleurisy due to shoulder pain.
Even the N.HS website says -
"It seems strange, but lying on the side of your chest that hurts may also help reduce the pain"
And you had said -
"have been able to catch full breaths without pain if I have fully supported my right side on pillows"
That is exactly how I was, I have ordered a V shaped pillow from Argos & am still on Antibiotics for Pnuemonia/Pluerisy.
I still have a dull ache inside my chest.
I believe that initially you get Pneumonia first, then Pleurisy. I may be wrong. So, you may have been through both plus Covid.
NICE guidelines state -
Offer an oral antibiotic for treatment of pneumonia in people who can or wish to be treated in the community if:
the likely cause is bacterial.
it is unclear whether the cause is bacterial or viral and symptoms are more concerning.

I hope you feel better soon l
