HR more than 100 all day. Spoken with GP. She thinks I'm dehydrated, but I'm not.

Msloverlover · 15/04/2020 15:41

@MyBeloved I’ve heard that about the phlegm thing. I don’t have a cough atm but bro and sil did and it was productive. All the rest of the symptoms were same as me (no contact).

MyBeloved · 15/04/2020 15:54

@mrsloverlover
Weirdly I don't have much of a cough at all, just this annoying phlegm and what I can only describe as a ball in my upper chest!

Tried a steam with olbas oil inhalation today, was very good actually. I'd recommend for anyone suffering with chest pain. It is my main symptom.

This virus is a complete bastard!

wildthingsinthenight · 15/04/2020 16:03

Can I say thank you for this thread?
It has been a lifesaver and really helped me. Been lurking but never posted.

Day approx 30 here and just finished a course of antibiotics as gp thought it may all be dragging on because I had a secondary infection. They made me so ill so glad to finish.
Not had severe symptoms just stabby chest and upper back pains, breathlessness and feeling as if I have inhaled talc. Have quite bad anxiety anyway so that hasn't helped. Only had a high temp in the beginning for a couple of days. Still feeling exhausted every day but not getting much sleep.
Sending love and healing vibes to you all at your various stages!

wildthingsinthenight · 15/04/2020 16:04

Sorry missed out I have had a cough from the beginning which is now very slight

cloud1183 · 15/04/2020 16:26

I'm a frontline nurse so was lucky enough to get a test pretty much straight away after coming down with symptoms. I got a tight chest yesterday and developed a tickly cough soon after. No fever and I feel fine within myself but it feels like my lungs are being tickled. Results should be back soon but given my workplace and the fact that 3 people in my department who I have been in close contact with are positive then I'm expecting the worst.

ofwarren · 15/04/2020 16:34

I just want to post again to say my symptoms only lasted for 18 days.
They were AWFUL while it happened. Felt like I'd swallowed glass, coughing, chills, shaking, headaches, nausea, disgusting acid reflux, sheer terror, exhaustion...
I feel ok now, about 15 days later after the symptoms improved.
I just want to thank everyone on this thread who helped me I those dark nights when the symptoms were overwhelming.

Rosesofeyam · 15/04/2020 16:39

Day 25
SATS 94/97 Temp 37.6 peak flow 200

I was feeling okay this morning. Still pain in chest, unsteady on feet, dizzy feeling. Not as bad as a few days ago.
Then the online shop arrived and I helped put it away.
I started shaking like mad and felt really unwell. My SATS went down to 92 then took 10 mins to come back up to 97.
I still feel shaky.
Just fed up with it today.

Rosesofeyam · 15/04/2020 16:41

Offwarren - I'm so glad you are feeling better.

Rosesofeyam · 15/04/2020 16:46

The gunky cough is the worst. My chest feels so sore all the time.
I've got two days left of antibiotics and one of steriods.
I hope I don't go downhill when I finish them. This happend last time within two days.(7 days ago)

TheDrsWife46 · 15/04/2020 16:52

@ofwarren does that put you at about day 33 and your confident you’re well now? Please keep the good news coming people ive had such a massive drop.

@cloud1183 sorry your ill, especially when im sure you feel both vulnerable at work and a pressure to back with your team i bet. Funny you say it feels like your lungs being tickled, i told Dh that it feels like a sneeze out of my lungs rather than a cough. Its like they are tickly and itchy to force a cough rather than a cough that is intent on clearing obstruction.

ofwarren · 15/04/2020 16:58

Yes, I would say about day 30 now.
I got well very quickly.
I went from feeling terrible to having bad acid reflux that made me feel so much better once I was able to get on top of if.
The good thing is, the isolation meant that so far (touch wood) no other family member has caught it, apart from my 4 year old who I isolated with.

TheDrsWife46 · 15/04/2020 17:02

@ofwarren im so pleased for you. I honestly wouldnt wish this virus on anyone and it honestly makes my day every time someone comes on to say “you know what, im well!!!”

One day please be me, please be me, please 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Sunnyhopefulness · 15/04/2020 17:17

I’m about 6 weeks on now - I’ve recently felt pretty normal and upped my exercise levels again - bingo - my chest aches again . I think the actual feeling pretty horrid only lasted 7/10 days for me - but there appears to be a longer impact.

dyscalculicgal96 · 15/04/2020 17:19

You are in my prayers!

LakeFlyPie · 15/04/2020 18:11

Good to see folk beginning to recover and for those still feeling poorly I hope each day brings some relief. I'm on Day 7/8 I think and have turned a corner I hope. No temps for a few days now and feeling less anxious now that DP and DC seem to be a few days in and are relatively ok. I was so worried about DP and DS2's asthma. I know we're not home and dry yet but my constant feeling of panic and what ifs has subsided a bit. I just took the dog for a 5 min stroll so he could have a sniff about for the first time in days (thankfully we have a garden so he hasn't been housebound) and feel quite light headed and a bit breathless - quite shocked how much difference a slow walk is to pottering at home. I could have gone back today according to the guidance but have extended my sick leave for another 7 days- thank goodness I did, think I'll need it. Having a little lie down before preparing dinner.

TheDrsWife46 · 15/04/2020 18:20

@LakeFlyPie you’ll be glad of that extra time if our patterns are anything to go by. Just to have it banked will be a weight off your mind if your exhausted. X

NordSjoen · 15/04/2020 18:23

I was on thread 3 and about a week ago it all seemed to have finally gone away after 4 weeks of pretty much the range of symptoms.

Except boom - last Thursday my heart rate at bed time was racing to 110 for over three hours (even while I was finally able to sleep). Woke frequently with coughing as usual but the additional non-bonus is I have been diagnosed by my GP as having probably cracked a rib from coughing. Sharp, constant pain around my right shoulder blade and front of chest under right boob - so acute when I move, cough, clear my throat, laugh. I was terrified it was some sort of lung effect at first but have been able to catch full breaths without pain if I have fully supported my right side on pillows.

SugarSugarShimmy · 15/04/2020 20:23

I believe I had it mildly, had a temp and chest pain, tight chest and a mild cough. I isolated for 10 days as felt ill still and had a low grade temp. On day 11 I thought I was better and walked 10 minutes and had to sit down on a bench, I was so dizzy and sweating. Illness takes us longer to get over than we often give ourselves.

stayathomegardener · 15/04/2020 20:34

@willaby123 that's great you are on the vitamin c.

Just take lots of care now you fee better as a few of us dipped again after overdoing it.

@ofwarren that's a great update, glad you are feeling better.

Any tips on getting rid of the acid reflux? I've had it all 35 days and it's driving me nuts.

ofwarren · 15/04/2020 20:37

@stayathomegardener not really any tips. I'm still battering the gaviscon and on full dose lansoprazole and still have acid. I've no idea why it causes such bad acid.

Notpanickingjustyet · 15/04/2020 20:42

Just checking in. I've developed (quite quickly) big circular rashes. One on my arm and three under my boob. They have freaked me out. I guess I've had so many symptoms and today my food has tasted very weird and not how it should.
I'm only day 6 but wonder if there's an end to this weirdness!

sweetkitty · 15/04/2020 21:16

Hello can I ask some advice, I feel like I’m coming down with a cold but don’t have a tingly nose. Usually I wouldn’t have bothered but you start to worry don’t you

This afternoon I’ve started coughing just a dry cough every so often and my chest is sore BUT I have fibromyalgia so rib/chest pain is common. No temperature but no way of checking.

Would you self-isolate???

SugarSugarShimmy · 15/04/2020 22:07

@sweetkitty I’d stop reading this thread and follow the government advice. Self isolate for a persistent cough or temperature

willaby123 · 15/04/2020 22:12

@stayathomegardener you're absolutely right - I've dipped today after doing too much and being a little optimistic about a recovery. Had a terrible night with cramps and tummy trouble last night and today my breathing was more laboured and chest tighter although thankfully sats sitting at 95. I was also shattered and slept for 2 hours mid afternoon which isn't like me. All points to doing too much too soon.
