Hello all, thank you for the responses regarding my chest pains - much appreciated x

I took two paracetamol and it seemed to go away then after a good few hours it started again when the painkiller wore off so I took another two. It's not even unbearable pain, I guess I'm taking them more so I don't feel the pain and it keeps my anxiety in check.

Dh and I have both dipped a little this evening - he's a day ahead on day 18 (I think). We're both feeling slight nausea again, I had a bit of an upset stomach earlier but that might be because I'm due on my period soon. Anyone else have the on off nausea ?

Dd (11) says she can't smell anything 😩 she doesn't have a temp or any other symptoms but she doesn't seem herself either , and abit lethargic. I really really hope it's not this damn virus 😩

Hope everyone's having a decent and comfortable evening. It's gone a little cooler here in manchester this evening . Watching money heist on Netflix - I reccomend it as a great distraction!

Notpanickingjustyet · 14/04/2020 21:40

@TheDrsWife46 they did check me over. I didn't even want an ambulance because it seems such a waste.
But since 7pm the cough has started. So the breathlessness and cough have happened today. I have a thermometer but not the oximeter.
I'll see if I can get one online...
Thank you

BreathlessCommotion · 14/04/2020 21:43

Take care of yourself @Notpanickingjustyet

I haven't lost my smell or taste, although I did get a sort of super smell like when you are pregnant, which I read is a symptom.

I'm day 6. Wondering is maybe I haven't had it as I am feeling better. Still exhausted, my breathing isn't right yet (I get out of breath reading out loud).
But no temp today, cough has really subsided

Notpanickingjustyet · 14/04/2020 21:52

@BreathlessCommotion thank you and you too!
I felt good this morning after being in bed all Easter weekend. Then went downhill rapidly this afternoon.
I think it seems to be common that it's very up down.
I'm very grateful for this thread!

gingerbreadslice · 14/04/2020 23:37

Hi just wondered what this could be? I've got one swollen tonsil that I've had for a few weeks now I finally got antibiotics this week and I'm on the last day of taking them sometimes my throat still hurts, other times it doesn't.
I wasn't worried until I've read this thread as I have acid reflux which is strange for me I never get that but now I do each night. I also sometimes feel like my throat is closing and I've been having panic attacks which I never ever get where I literally feel like I can't breathe and i genuinely fear for my life. I've never ever had them before or experienced that not being able to breathe sensation. Just seems very out of character for me.

Msloverlover · 15/04/2020 03:23

Hi all, on day 6ish here. Chest pain, general aches and pains and massive exhaustion. No temperature but that’s not unusual for me and no cough but horrible scratchy bubbly feeling in lungs. The worst thing is I just can’t sleep although I am bone tired. Trying to rest as much as possible in day but hard with a toddler!

Feeling like chest is getting worse but seems to be a normal pattern to feel worse around 6/7 days.

TheDrsWife46 · 15/04/2020 04:35

@Msloverlover im here. Your right in the thick of all the distressing initial symptoms. Are you alone with your toddler or have help?

iwonttaketheeasyroad · 15/04/2020 08:36

Hi I've been watching this post for a while. I think I'm on my third week with this virus (not conformed) however I am still getting dreadful chills most days particularly towards the end of the day and at night time. I don't seem to get a temperature just the chills and cold sweats . Is anyone else getting this?

Lightsabre · 15/04/2020 08:56

Day 19 here. I am able to get up and down the stairs. Slightly shaky this morning but havnt had breakfast yet. Still quite weak and the breathlessness is still there but oxygen levels are good at 98%. Heart/pulse rate is higher - up to 125 on activity. Resting heart rate 75-85.
@iwonttaketheeasyroad and @gingerbreadslice - these are both symptoms. Chills and reflux/gastric problems seem to be common on the Lungs threads. People have been taking Gaviscon tablets which seem to help.

Lightsabre · 15/04/2020 08:59

@gingerbreadslice, it helps to have an oximeter which measures your oxygen saturation levels. They're about £20 off EBay. Lots of us have experienced the breathing panic but the oximeter helps to reassure you that your body is getting enough oxygen even when it doesn't feel like it.

Dorual · 15/04/2020 09:01

Urgg. Woken up with the burn again. Ouch. Right in the middke of my lungs. Sats ate 98 though, so thank god for this little precious, reassiring piece of kit. HR also racing on activity. Chest symptoms are tge worst for me though. Go away already!! Day 15.

Msloverlover · 15/04/2020 09:06

@TheDrsWife46 thanks so much. It was lovely waking up to that. Reading through yours and others’ previous threads have been really helpful so I thought it was time to jump on.

OH is working - we’ve already isolated for 3 weeks. He is apparently asymptomatic or immune but been here all over Easter. He’s going to work today. My daughter has watched so much Bing now I’m fairly sure she thinks Flop is another parent.

I do think I’m pretty lucky so far. It is definitely a mild case but that doesn’t stop me feeling bloody awful at times. Just that yucky, shaky inside unwell feeling. So sure I have it though - I think it’s unmistakable when you do.

Had 4 hours sleep last night. It is like torture being so tired but unable to sleep! It’s as if my mind doesn’t trust my breathing enough to let me sleep.

Msloverlover · 15/04/2020 09:08

One thing that has helped is continuing with anti histamines and beconase for hay fever. I definitely feel worse when I don’t.

Msloverlover · 15/04/2020 09:09

@iwonttaketheeasyroad I got these kinds of chills the first few days. I don’t really go in for fevers - these are my only sign of a temperature normally.

MillStone · 15/04/2020 09:22

Morning. I hope everyone is feeling a little better and managing to stay positive.

I hope some of you might share an opinion please.

Im on day 22 since mild symptoms. Day 18 since terrible and my lingering symptoms are breathless and back pain. (oxygen, temp and heart beat are okay). I'm spending my days laying on my front and I haven't had any pain killers for a week.

I'm not sure if the back pain is a result of breathlessness or vica versa. i.e the breathing muscles start hurting and don't work efficiently which results in breathing difficulties.

Does anyone know the mechanics behind this?

I'm ask because I need to sit at a computer to do some light work but doing so effects my breathing / back ache.

I'm wondering... if the back pain results in poor breathing because the breathing muscles are not being utilised properly, then taking pain killers and sitting up would actually aid breathing and possibly recovery.

I'm reluctant to try it because I really don't want to compromise my recovery.

Thanks :)

TheDrsWife46 · 15/04/2020 09:28

@Millstone for me the back and chest pains weren't scary because I had had them in the past with pulmonary embolism. I think its more the residual pain and inflammation of the lungs rather than something going critically wrong. Even after my clots had dispersed i still had pain for months after and i was advised its because lung tissue was sensitive to the changes.

But feel free to ignore my advice, im over here freaking out over the constant buzzing/tremors/leg weakness like neurological symptoms.

iwonttaketheeasyroad · 15/04/2020 09:30

Thanks @Msloverlover I'm wondering if this is still my body trying to fight something even though it's at the end (hopefully) for me . I have had symptoms for 3 weeks and was really starting to feel better and like me again. I think I will start taking paracetamol again regularly and see if that helps. It's so depressing though these lingering symptoms , although I do feel lucky I've had it mildly ( if I have had it at all) I am getting a bit down with it all , it's hard to keep spirits up.

Notpanickingjustyet · 15/04/2020 09:35

@Msloverlover I'm also on day 6 and the total lack of sleep is horrible. My chest has also got worse since yesterday and the pain is moving from front to side to back etc.
Do you have anyone look after you?

MillStone · 15/04/2020 10:11

@TheDrsWife46

Sorry to hear about your tremors and weakness and thanks for your advice, It's really interesting to hear your input.

I've also been experiencing intermittent leg weakness and slight tremors -- especially in my calf muscles.

Msloverlover · 15/04/2020 11:30

@Notpanickingjustyet ooh day 7 for me - snap! I had the chest and back pains moving around right at the beginning. It is now much more of a kind of raspy pain in my chest. Like a sore throat but further down IYSWIM. I am taking paracetamol regularly though so not sure what kind of aches and pains that’s covering up.

OH have just gone to work for a couple of hours (key worker) but will be back soon. I’m able to move around etc though. And appetite is still fine (takes a lot to dim that) so think that helps. Afternoons seem to be worst.

Do you have a temperature? Does anyone else in your house have symptoms?

Notpanickingjustyet · 15/04/2020 12:06

@Msloverlover snap with the appetite! 😂

The Sunday before Easter, my husband complained of being tired and headache. Totally not like him. I now wonder if he had it. He's the only one who left the house.
My daughter isn't showing anything as yet.
The only thing I haven't had is a temperature but have had shivering which is also a sign I believe.
Am basking in the sun at the moment trying to get vitamin D!
I hope the pain subsides for you. It's horrible.

MyBeloved · 15/04/2020 12:44

As per PP, my appetite has been fine, except for 'vomitting day'.

Back and chest pain has also moved around and is mainly at the front now.

I'm day 9 and on day 3 of doxycycline (got pleurisy). Has anyone else found they got more 'phlegmy'? Sorry to ask! It is now clear rather than yellow/brown, but definitely more of it.

LetsBeSensible · 15/04/2020 12:55

@Porcupineinwaiting thanks, will see about getting thrush for mouth drops.
Awake a lot last night with horrible acid reflux pain, as had run out of tablets so ordered some more of those.
Think my symptoms are hanging around in the weak muscles/slight headache/quite tired range so will probably move over to the 30+
I can’t hardly remember the early symptoms so well (aside from the not being able to breathe, that sticks out!) so good we have the lungs threads for people just getting it to read back over

Crayfishforyou · 15/04/2020 13:20

Day 16ish
I'm having a good day. Wobbly legs, very slight chest pain, slight dizziness.
My sinuses feel a lot better since I started sniffing iodine in salt inhaler thing. It does seem to clear them.
My very first symptoms were sore eyes, I've been having that back a little bit. I'm hoping it's not all going to kick off from scratch again.

MyBeloved · 15/04/2020 13:26

Also, weirdly, if I wake up a lot in the night for wees, it normally means I will have a bad day the following day. Anyone else?!
