@Taffyapple8 morning lovely, I am also from Cardiff! I never knew there was a covid centre. I think I might have to look into this. Hoping you are feeling better soon. I've woken up feeling the same. I feel like I have a temp :( haven't taken it yet however.

Brokenchair1 · 12/04/2020 08:15

I will admit to not having read all the threads but had a look through the first thread. I have, for the past few days, had a weird burning feeling in my chest. Like the feeling you have when you drink a really hot drink or soup and feels like it is burning down your gullet.

Today I woke up feeling shivery and with a back ache. I've had a sore throat on and off BUT no temperature and no cough so generally dismissed it as any COVID symptoms but now not so sure after reading some of the posts here.

kevintheorangecarrot · 12/04/2020 08:38

@Brokenchair1 that's how my symptoms started off. I had very bad burning feeling in my chest like heartburn, which travelled to my throat and both areas burned. It felt like I've described, burned off and dried up. It disappeared then I got the shortness of breath for just over 1 week and that gradually went away. But now I have a sore throat again and a headache. I believe covid 19 can also present gastric symptoms rather than respiratory. I don't know though. Just wish there was enough testing and antibodies available so we can all just put our mind at ease. It's a joke that we are under testing way too many people and antibody testing kit the gov have got don't even work anyway.

kevintheorangecarrot · 12/04/2020 08:39

Oh and I had absolutely no cough with my symptoms at all (touch wood). Which I'm surprised about really as I do feel like I need to have coughing fits but my throat regularly needs clearing sometimes.

Meercatmama · 12/04/2020 08:51

Good morning everyone
Husband is on day 14 He felt ok when he first got up but decided he was well enough to feed the cats and have a bath. Now back in bed feeling exhausted and breathless. What he is finding difficult is not being able to do the most simple things. I am on Day 28 and started to feel more like my self. My advice is to rest as much as you can, drink and take paracetamol It does get better but you have to listen to your body and let it recover. For some it is much quicker for others like us it takes longer (See 30+ thread) Also it does take a toll mentally and you feel like it is never going to end but it will do. The recovery is two steps forward and one step back. Hoping all of you have a better day

Brokenchair1 · 12/04/2020 09:36

Thanks @kevintheorangecarrot It is so hard to know isn't it? Thing is I've had this lung thing for a good week now but noticed it felt worse this morning, like other people have said, burning indigestion sort of feeling. Also feel a bit nauseous. Yes I agree, I think it will be a while before we really understand how all the different symptoms present.

I normally have a really good immune system so be interesting to see how it develops. Just trying to rest as much as possible. trying to tell DD 7 in an age appropriate way that mummy doesn't feel very well and needs to rest in bed without scaring here. Obviously she has picked up snippets on the news!

Lightsabre · 12/04/2020 09:41

Morning all, Day 16 here and have woken feeling rubbish after a fairly good day yesterday. Burning upper back pain, very nauseous and weak and floppy again. Forced down a little cereal and a Lemsip. My pulse rate is very high - 130 on activity and 90 resting so I feel a bit shaky too. Another day in bed...

UncomfortableBadger · 12/04/2020 09:55

@Lightsabre Your day 16 sounds just like my day 16! I’m on 17 now and am getting properly naffed off with these pains in my lungs & my chest. Oximeter says my SPo2 levels are fine at least...

LakeFlyPie · 12/04/2020 09:58

Feel so weak and dizzy this morning ☹️ only Day 5 I think. Haven't had any breathlessness yet (more fevers last night). Trying to force down some banana and water

MyBeloved · 12/04/2020 10:14

Hi again everyone,
I hope you don't mind me asking, but has anyone had back pain that moved from upper back to mid? Got a few 'stabby' pains during the night from front to back so ended up sleeping on my front - not a natural position for me! Am currently propped up in bed with a hot water bottle in my back and it is helping.
I think I'm day 7. Still got an intermittent hoarse voice, and slight feeling of lung impairment (I'd say 80% normal capacity) but I dont have any of the fancy equipment for measuring my o2 levels etc.
Thanks all.

BreathlessCommotion · 12/04/2020 10:24

My appetite has been hit and miss. Sometimes normal, sometimes hungry but can't bring myself to eat anything.

My dd has ASD and asked me outright if this meant I was going to die. Straight to the point!

I feel OK this morning, not better but not worse, but I slept better last night.

LetsBeSensible · 12/04/2020 10:59

Ok I counted again and it’s actually day 26 for me so we can add “unable to count” to the list of symptoms.
I started feeling brighter yesterday and only slept 8 hours last night. I still have muscle aches but my chest feels better and I can feel I have more energy. As I have CFS, I know very well that I must NOT start doing things. I have conceded to allowing extra housework, no more.
@Mammaaof hope you are ok, you’re in the best place

stayathomegardener · 12/04/2020 11:30

@Mammaaof well done for getting treatment at the right time, keep us updated.

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 12/04/2020 11:31

Morning! Day 14ish here.

Mammaaof Thanks** I don't know if this helps, but I've been in hospital with sepsis, and have loads of things wrong with me, and I fully recovered. Keep posting.

Feeling ok-ish today, apart from my cough which is dreadful, and fatigue if I try to do anything more than move between rooms.

Still, given all the stuff they've said to us shielding gang, I'm starting to feel cautiously optimistic. My GP said they wanted to keep me out of hospital, and he'd talk to me on Tuesday, so this week has been very frightening, but if I can keep hobbling along like this I'll consider it big win.

Wishing everyone well Thanks

stayathomegardener · 12/04/2020 11:32

@TheDrsWife46 I'm not on antibiotics but I'm not sure they would help anyway. I'm not seeing anyone who's had them saying it made much of a difference. 🤷‍♀️

MillStone · 12/04/2020 11:36

@MyBeloved

My back pain started between on the inside of each shoulder blade and quickly spread across my upper and lower back. The pain/ache was constant for days and accompanied by a raw chest.

About a week later the pain is intermittent but has shrunk back down to near each shoulder blade, and what feels like the ridge of my spline.

BreathlessCommotion · 12/04/2020 11:49

I feel ever so slightly better today (day 4). I did sleep for over 12 hours. Is this false hope?

Porcupineinwaiting · 12/04/2020 11:56

@Breathless honestly you are likely to be sick for a few days more. There is usually a phase of better day/worse day but its excellent if youve already started that on day 4.

Trick is to rest up and try and eat a bit on the good days, not to try and get back to normal too quickly.

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 12/04/2020 12:09

Have any of you tried massage for the back/neck pain? I'm really lucky as DH bought me a massage chair a couple of years ago. It helped massively, as did a neck/shoulder rub from DH, and using self-massage techniques.

It may be that it's pain from tension rather than the illness.

Notpanickingjustyet · 12/04/2020 12:21

Day 3 of feeling unwell.
My symptoms (of whatever I have) are all over the place. Slept bad (weird dreams) and woke up.feelong generally grotty. My thighs and legs ache and I feel like something is brewing in my throat.
It's annoying not knowing what it is.

AutumnNymph · 12/04/2020 12:27

Day 8 and I feel a bit better - the chest tightening has eased off. My peak flow and Sats are healthy so hoping I am turning a corner.

I am exhausted all the time though and still have the headache that refuses to go away, Temperature persists though it has never been very high. Hovering around 37.8 to 38.

Really hoping to kick this off soon.

Keepdistance · 12/04/2020 13:38

Feeling rubbish today too. Day 9 (or 39?) had a fever/chills last night after not having them since i started again this time.
Dp seems better. My legs are all weak and achy i can hardly walk.
Without info its hard to know.
Am i getting worse as im now feverish. Or better as cough seems better at moment?
It seems a lot like gpswife described shaky.

Dorual · 12/04/2020 13:58

What day did your upset stomach / diarrhoea symptoms start please?

Elzbells · 12/04/2020 14:19

Has anyone noticed a high resting heart rate as a symptom?

I've had congestion, slight breathlessness, bit of a cough and sore throat since Sunday. Yesterday felt quite well for the first time so took the dog for a long walk, I've got up today and the breathlessness is slightly back. Just put on my Apple Watch for the first time in ages and I've gone from an long term average of 58/62 bpm to 90/109?

Dorual · 12/04/2020 14:20

Also, in your opinion, what day do we need to reach to be out of the danger zone, even if still experiencing symptoms?
