WorriesomeDad · 14/04/2020 15:41

@JackJackIncredible that’s brilliant. I must admit when I heard your sats on an earlier thread I was really worried for you! Really glad to hear it.

Egghead68 · 14/04/2020 16:02

Brilliant @JackJackIncredible!

mumlurker · 14/04/2020 16:22

Yay! Another graduate!

Standrewsschool · 14/04/2020 16:22

Day 30 - big day today.

Firstly, got my swab tests back and it came back negative (am I the first to be tested?).

Secondly, went back to work today! Did my usual hours (work part-time). Feeling tired now, partly from the mental stimulus of it all.

Hopefully haven’t overdone it and won’t have a relapse.

jackjack - glad you’re feeling better.

stayathomegardener · 14/04/2020 16:37

@OneDayAtATime123 I wish!
Still struggling with fatigue, temperatures and heartburn although on an up am sleeping ok for the first time in five weeks after a stint on melatonin.

@JackJackIncredible that's fantastic!
Thanks for the update.

godhelpusall · 14/04/2020 16:41

@Standrewsschool did you expect the test to be negative? Does that mean you have beaten the virus?

Moominmamma33 · 14/04/2020 16:46

Quick question, is a temp of 37.7 normal-ish, or not?

godhelpusall · 14/04/2020 16:54

@Moominmamma33 it's a touch high. But not terrible. Mind you this virus seems to do that.

Standrewsschool · 14/04/2020 16:57

@godhelpusall - I’ve generally felt better in the last week, so thought I probably don’t have it now. In retrospect, it would have been nice to have been tested a week or so again, to see if I actually had it (wasn’t available to me then, work in nhs admin and they offered it to us from last weeks).

Does that mean you have beaten the virus?. Who knows?! Does the relapsing/recovery pattern mean you are being reinfected, or have it dormant in you? Hopefully I’ve beaten it and now have antibodies so am not re-infected/relapse.I don’t feel 100% at full strength yet though, and still feel I have to be careful.

fedupofbed · 14/04/2020 16:58

@Moominmamma33 I would say that's slightly raised, so not normal, but not of concern, though I'm no expert. A lot of others on this thread seem to have similar to this, me included.

Great to hear two more good news stories.

And hello @Andromeida59 , though sorry you have to join us. I hope your afternoon has gone okay.

Standrewsschool · 14/04/2020 16:58

Moo I mama - agree with God. A tad high, but okay-ish. Do you feel okay apart from having a raised temperature?

godhelpusall · 14/04/2020 17:11

@Standrewsschool sorry to be a pain but how many days are you? Did you have the lost smell thing? You may have already told me this but I'm still not brilliant at retention! I have been feeling much better this week although still have sticky eyes in morning and slightly burny windpipe if I do much. Also minty taste! And occasional slight back pain. But convinced I still have it and I'm going to relapse so just keen to know if you have any weird things left.

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 14/04/2020 17:27

Hi everyone.

I'm hopping (I wish I could really hop) onto this thread, as my GP has told me she thinks I'm actually about four weeks in.

Brief background: I'm on the shielded list, and think both my DCs have had it. Older one is still a bit wobbly, but younger one is back to normal.

I think I've had a mild case, but my crappy health conditions have stopped me fighting it properly.

No fever but racing pulse, fatigue, horrible cough & lung pain.

My GP might be sending me off to the Corona hub on Friday for x-ray & blood tests - which would be good.

Sorry you're all in the same boat. I've found it so helpful following this thread.

It's like a really crappy version of the Antenatal threads I was on when I first joined MN.

godhelpusall · 14/04/2020 17:51

@MilesJuppIsMyBitch sorry to hear you are in the same situation as so many here. How old are your kids

Standrewsschool · 14/04/2020 18:02

@godhelpusall

I’m day 30 today.
Brief summary
1-7 high temp, metallic taste.headache, nausea, fatigue - thought I was improving at end of week
2-14 - temperature, horrible cough, heartburn/chest pain, fatigue, loss of appetite - week 2 was worse than week one (got antibiotics)
14-21 - temperature at beginning and end of day, more normal during the day, still had cough, brain fog lifted,
21-28 - felt a lot better and gradually did more things, walks etc

Still have slight cough, and being cautious. Although don’t feel weak, I know I’m not back to full strength/energy/etc

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 14/04/2020 18:04

Thanks godhelpusall Smile. How far along are you? (See? Like antenatal).

They're 8 & 14. So glad this didn't happen when they were younger! Don't envy those of you with littleuns.

I feel guilty enough as it is - I just want to be making wanky banana bread & making jokes about Joe Wickes' thighs like normal people.

godhelpusall · 14/04/2020 18:11

@MilesJuppIsMyBitch 34 days I think. I'm feeling loads better but fear another relapse and very conscious of every little twinge. Also struggling with having both kids and they dad all Unwell together. Keep thinking I'm better but finding it hard to believe after so long and relapsing etc. Bloody virus plus health anxiety has been PTSD inducing

godhelpusall · 14/04/2020 18:13

@Standrewsschool thanks for that. Quite similar to me although my diarrhoea appeared in week 3 and sticky eyes. Also rash in week 4 for a few days. It's a shapeshifter! But I'm feeling much better this last few days - would love a test.

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 14/04/2020 18:18

godhelpusall that sounds so tough Sad

I think my DH may be patient zero in this house, but he has the constitution of an ox.

How are your kids? My teen has certainly suffered more & for longer, although he is a sun-dodger.

I find I'm emotionally fine one moment, then hit by a wave of terror the next. All the texts from the government telling me I'm extremely vulnerable don't help.

godhelpusall · 14/04/2020 18:29

My 9 yo has as yet undiagnosed asd and is phobic of lots of things including insects (so the garden and outdoors) - trying time get her outside for sunshine is hard. She also refuses to eat most things and will resist drinking if asked to sometimes, It makes looking after her when poorly an absolute nightmare. Especially when I'm also not feeling 100%.

Egghead68 · 14/04/2020 18:34

Welcome @MilesJuppIsMyBitch. I’m a fellow shielder. It certainly adds an extra layer of terror. I am glad we are both through the high risk second week (which I mainly spent rewriting my will and lists if what to do if I died).

mumlurker · 14/04/2020 18:41

Day 32ish - I've been feeling a lot more human the last few days, despite poor sleep, a few panic attacks, lots of twinges and some digestive issues. But I'm back to full on diarhea and a sore throat this evening. Gaaah. Anyone still getting severe gastro symptoms at this point? I feel so down, thinking this probably means I'm in for yet another bout.

musicposy · 14/04/2020 18:44

MilesJuppIsMyBitch Grin

Hi all it was 5 weeks ago today I had my first mild temperature so day 36 here, not doing too badly and generally feel I’m on the up but a tiny bit of activity today (not what you’d usually class as activity, small bit of housework) and I’m absolutely shattered. Now in bed and feeling sick after a tiny amount of dinner. Grrrr!

I’m going to have to accept I will have to take it very easy for a while, I think. It’s frustrating. I keep setting myself back by being too desperate to get back to some kind of normality.
