@ChippedPotatoesLloyd I had antibiotics and they didn’t seem to make a blind bit of difference. It would be appreciated if you’d keep me posted with any info you might find on follow up assessments, I’m thinking exactly the same thing.

@notangelinajolie followed your posts on lungs threads and really glad to hear you’re feeling better, long may it continue.

TheDrsWife46 · 14/04/2020 06:50

@OneDayAtATime123 that article on care is brilliant but if you click on the author it takes you to her own covid story but her twitter page also has links to stories out of wuhan/recoveries etc i fell down a bit of an internet rabbit hole from 5.30am looking. 👍🏻

Egghead68 · 14/04/2020 07:00

How is everyone today? Day 24/25 and my sore throat is back with avengeance. On the positive side I got six hours’ sleep.

Tangledyarn · 14/04/2020 07:10

Thanks that link was really helpful. I'm in a constant battle between 'this is fine it's just going to take time' to totay freaking out the next moment that I'm never going to get better. Day 39 today.

stayathomegardener · 14/04/2020 07:12

@Moodgie it's the equivalent I think but hard to take enough to get to bowel tolerance and wouldn't get into the system as quickly so would be less accurate as a measure.

I take the 1000mg tablets at night as can't face the powder then.

WorriesomeDad · 14/04/2020 07:23

@Tangledyarn ditto. Day 34 here.

stayathomegardener · 14/04/2020 07:25

@WorriesomeDad I did exactly the same, did too much and straight to lungs. Hindsight!

Thinking forward it's very important I think to keep this thread going as it's such a support and wealth of information. Plus clearly going to fill up.

Anyone up for taking over? I know @Casino218 and @TheDrsWife46 have already "hosted" threads in lungs and the tradition seems to be to hand it on. Plus I loath the scramble at the end of a thread, I'm a planner... eyes oxygen breathing apparatus purchased in January under the stairs 🥴

I would just make one suggestion; I think it should be called 40+ to track rough progression.

This looks like a very useful resource linked over on the lungs thread (by @TheDrsWife46
I think?)

WorriesomeDad · 14/04/2020 08:18

Not so sure about increasing the title by 10 every time @stayathomegardener, I’d be really pissed off to make it to 50 or 60+!

godhelpusall · 14/04/2020 08:19

Morning all. I had a very broken night thanks to DS5 and once again I wake feeling a bit anxious at what today might bring. Hopefully onwards and upwards, for all of us. I don't know how to start a new thread in the MN app but am happy to start one if someone explains.

godhelpusall · 14/04/2020 08:21

@stayathomegardener it also might keep new people off joining

Moodgie · 14/04/2020 08:28

@WorriesomeDad @stayathomegardener Same here. I thought it was a cold initially and thought I was getting better so went for a run. Oh how I wish I hadn’t!

Egghead68 · 14/04/2020 08:41

Yes I did about 3 hours of moderate exercise on day 8 when I thought I was better. Major mistake.

Egghead68 · 14/04/2020 08:46

@stayathomegardener I think increasing the title number by 10 would be too depressing and put off people who have “only” had symptoms for a few weeks even though they/we need support too.

Thank you so much for setting up this thread. I am so glad I found it. I think people on real life think I am exaggerating or malingering (or just weak-minded) or something. If only...

Moodgie · 14/04/2020 08:49

Had an OKish afternoon yesterday and was hoping it might stay, then as soon as I went to sleep, the breathing issues commenced, difficult to to catch a deep breath, I found getting up and walking around seemed to ease it.

stayathomegardener · 14/04/2020 09:12

Sorry my suggestion wasn't to increase it by 10 every time, I'm only day 34ish myself.

My thinking is more that we have a good proportion on posters on here or in touch who are around day 40 that are providing invaluable support and information further down the line.

Lungs 1-7 and 30+ were all very different support sources.

I think for example lungs 2 or 3 documented the 10-14 day dip.

Lungs 7 and 30+ showed that days 25-29ish gave another surprising dip.

I'm also pretty confident I'm still carrying the virus with temperature spikes etc.

I think it would be a mistake not to have a distinct separation on the basis of a clinical timeline not as a bar to posters joining.

Morning all,

Glad to see some people are improving and agree that this is a really useful platform to reassure worry and anxiety over the symptoms.

Had another good day yesterday (Day 31), breathing seems to still be improving and the chest pains weren't as severe. Finished my co-Amoxicillin the day before and was worried that I might relapse. I haven't done any walking (other than round the garden) for the last three days and napped for 2 hours each afternoon, which really seems to have helped.

Today (Day 32), woke up and my breathing is much clearer and the chest pains seem to be getting less each day. Stomach is also much better with no Diarrhea. Just going to continue taking it easy for the next few days and gradually start walking more each day, just not to much.

Agree that the mental side of this is almost as bad as the symptoms and I can recommend mindfulness (headspace app) and breathing exercises to help.

Thank you for everyone being so welcoming, until I found this, i felt like i was on my own and the experiences and feedback have really helped me turn a corner. I hope everyone else continues to improve and i'll keep posting back to let you know how i'm going.

Take care all.

TheDrsWife46 · 14/04/2020 09:25

@Gunner30 its always such a massive massive boost to read of someone who is feeling better. I think posters never dare even suggest they may be better in case they dip again and its mentally so draining to be worse again. Please do keep posting your progress xx

Egghead68 · 14/04/2020 09:45

Great to hear @Gunner30!

WorriesomeDad · 14/04/2020 09:53

Having a rough morning. Chest feels tight and shorter of breath than I’ve been throughout. 02 sat has dropped a bit too, sat at 95/96 which is lowest it’s been. Anxiety has kicked right back in.

godhelpusall · 14/04/2020 09:57

@WorriesomeDad have you tried a hot shower? All the other stuff that might help? Can you call your gp for reassurance

Moodgie · 14/04/2020 10:00

@WorriesomeDad I have dipped as well. Started last night, was hoping morning will be better but shortness of breath is here plus I’m completely wiped out.

Egghead68 · 14/04/2020 10:03

Oh no. I am dipping too. Breathless and wiped out after cleaning my teeth. Trying to rest leaning my chest forward.

mymoonmyman2020 · 14/04/2020 10:06

I've had a dip of breathlessness too in the past 12 hours. Returning to this NHS advice sheet and the exercises it describes - I think they helped me recover last time. There is genuine breathlessness but (for me anyway) it is made much worse by anxiety. Pasting the link below in case it helps anyone else.

WorriesomeDad · 14/04/2020 10:07

Yeah tried hot shower. Rubbish that you are feeling worse too @Egghead68 and @Moodgie
