Hope you feel better soon @WorriesomeDad and @Moodgie.

fedupofbed · 14/04/2020 10:14

@Gunner30 that's great!

@Egghead68 @Moodgie @WorriesomeDad I'm so sorry you're dipping. Rest up and really hope things improve over the day. Sending all my best wishes.

fedupofbed · 14/04/2020 10:19

Thank you @mymoonmyman2020 that looks really useful. The anxiety really feeds in to it. Sorry you're dipping too.

Kitcat122 · 14/04/2020 10:23

I've posted a few times. I am on Day 31ish. This thread has give me alot of comfort as chest pain and breathlessness for 4 weeks would otherwise really freaked me out. I am usually an exercise freak but haven't even been able to go for a walk with the kids. Today however I gave in to my worry and spoke to my doctor. She seems to think I have had Covid19 (obviously I am completely aware this is just her opinion over the phone). She said upto 8 weeks recovery can been normal. She told me not to worry at all, just take it easy and take vit D. Just thought I would share xx

Moominmamma33 · 14/04/2020 10:25

I wanted to say thanks for all the help on here, it's a very supportive thread. Was feeling scared and alone before reading this. Like a few have recently said, I also deteriorated with breathlessness, having tried to get back to running when I thought I was fully well again, as confirmed by my lovely GP yesterday on video link. I too wasn't sure it was Covid initially, so treated it lightly as it seemed like a cold but it has shown its true colours. Anyway, hoping in a week or so to feel better. We should now all be past the acute stage which is dangerous, I hope anyway..?

WorriesomeDad · 14/04/2020 10:26

Cheers @Kitcat122. I take it you are still struggling with breathlessness too?

Moominmamma33 · 14/04/2020 10:27

That is so reassuring to read, Kitkat122.

stayathomegardener · 14/04/2020 10:37

@WorriesomeDad hopefully this is just the second dip many of us experienced. It seems to bring an improvement afterwards if that's any help; I found it very tough mentally.

I have a breathing video that might help, it is 40 minutes long but brought my oxygen levels up from 92/93 to 99
Will try and find it.

@stayathomegardener @WorriesomeDad It hasn’t been the second dip for me, for me it seems to change on a daily basis really and has been like that for weeks. Anyone else the same?

Thanks @TheDrsWife46*@Egghead68 and @fedupofbed*. I am conscious of a potential relapse, but hope this continues and will keep on posting, as the support has been fantastic.

Just rest, liquids and mindfulness seem to help and not doing to much, so I'll keep you posted.

Sorry to hear that others are still having issues, the dips do seem pretty common, but bear with it and hopefully we can all fight it off.

Take care all

Moodgie · 14/04/2020 10:53

What day are you on @Moominmamma33?

Wrybread · 14/04/2020 10:57

Did anyone see the expert on the news talking about vitamin D? He was onbecause of the inordinate number of BAME NHS workers who've sadly died. He has concerns that it's possible that part of the issue may be vitamin D deficiency (a common issue for BAME people) and vitamim D has a big part to play in the immune system.

I'm of BAME descent (although very much white passing) and have had vitamin D deficiency a fair few times. With being poorly and staying indoors, I've recently started taking high strength vitamin D tablets again, but it takes quite a while to get into your system. Hoping that this makes a difference!

Egghead68 · 14/04/2020 11:23

Sorry to be a pain but not feeling well enough to go back through the thread. Are other people getting really low blood pressure? Mine’s normally just under 140/90 (resting pulse 70) even with medication but today it is 100/60 (resting pulse 99).

Kitcat122 · 14/04/2020 11:25

@WorrisomeDad yes shortness of breath and chest pain the only symptoms I have now. Otherwise feel fine. All other symptoms finished week 3.

WorriesomeDad · 14/04/2020 11:28

Do you find the shortness of breath comes in episodes rather than stays continuous @Kitkat122? I think that’s one of the scariest things about it for me. It doesn’t really make much sense medically.

Dorual · 14/04/2020 11:30

Egghead, my bp is actually raised more than usual. Especially the diastolic and especially in the evening/ night

mumlurker · 14/04/2020 11:31

@Wrybread I've started taking vitamin d tablets. Not sure how long they take to have an impact. It would make sense though - I've barely had any daylight this winter, let alone sunshine, and have been indoors most of the past month.

Anyone getting really bad gastric symptoms? I still have a sore chest and occasional breathlessness, but intense stomach cramps, pain, bloating and slight nausea/loss of interest in food (even though still hungry) are my main symptoms now at day 32.

Moodgie · 14/04/2020 11:31

@WorriesomeDad @Kitkat122 I have episodes. Not triggered by activity either as I’m mostly in bed. How about you?

Egghead68 · 14/04/2020 11:35

Thanks @Dorual.

@Mumlurker I have had a lot of acid reflux and sharp abdominal pains. Not gone off my food though apart from half a day when everything tasted horrible.

@WorriesomeDad my breathlessness comes in episodes too. No clear triggers except possibly eating.

Moodgie · 14/04/2020 11:45

@egghead68 Agree about eating, I think maybe the breathing pattern changes as we eat and so it triggers breathlessness.

Kitcat122 · 14/04/2020 11:45

@WorrisomeDad yes it comes and goes. Some days feel its almost gone them bam! It's there when I walk upstairs or just talking sometimes. It's a horrible feeling.

Tangledyarn · 14/04/2020 11:46

My breathlessness is triggered by activity and eating but also sometimes I'll just have random episodes that last an hour or so for no reason. Strange.

Moodgie · 14/04/2020 11:49

Same here @Kitcat122.

I have a GP phone call later on today. Any suggestions how I should put it to him? I spoke to him on Thursday, he gave me an inhaler but it doesn’t seem to do anything.

fedupofbed · 14/04/2020 11:49

@Egghead68 I can't check my blood pressure at home but every time it's been checked out professionally over the last 5 weeks it's been low and dipping lower when I sit up/ stand.

I'm sure it's the cause of my main really bad symptom this week - even sitting up slightly to type this has made me come over all weird. It's just awful, and then I just panic that I'm going to pass out which makes it worse. The doctors just keep telling me to keep up with my fluids/ salt but that's all I'm doing. The one I saw yesterday told my to use dioralyte (haven't got hold of any yet).

The main trajectory of my illness seems to be a bit different from many on here at the moment. I've had episodes of breathlessness but these are 'dormant' right now (thankfully). I just feel hideously and weirdly ill in a way I never have done before.
